Divergent Book Report The movie Divergent is made up of many factions. The factions are: Amity; Abnegation; Dauntless; Erudite; and Candor. The Amity faction is responsible for farming the land and are always happy. The Abnegation are kind and they feed the factionless, which don't have a faction due to quitting their faction or they don't belong in one. The Dauntless are the guards of the city and the warriors; they are very daring. Then Erudite are intelligent and try to figure out how everything works. Finally, the Candor are honest and help the Abnegation with the laws. There are many differences between the book and the movie. The first difference is in the aptitude test. That is a test that says what faction you should choose. In …show more content…
In the movie, she runs, shoots guns, then fights Molly. In the book, she fights second and wins due to the anger. In the movie, the film creator has the fights backwards. She loses both of the fights and instead of winning the last fight, she fights. In the book, in the ranking she stays in the top ten. In the movie, she goes from last place to twentieth. The next difference, in the book, she gets four tattoos. In the movie, she only gets one. In the book, when she gets her first tattoo, she gets a new dress and eyeliner. The movie left that part out along with she kisses Four more than one time. In the book when the Dauntless play paintball, they use paintball guns, and paintballs, and a kid named Uriah explodes a paintball in Tris’s face. In the movie, they use neurostimulation darts that simulate a gunshot wound. Then, while unloading potatoes onto trucks, her mom warns her about being Divergent. In the book, she visits Tris on visiting day and takes her down a hallway to warn Tris about being Divergent. Then, when she faces her fears in a simulation, she manipulates the simulation. In the movie, she just goes into a puddle of mud and it turns out to
All in all there were many things different about the book compared to the movie.
A difference in the movie and the book is when Cassie was beating up Lillian Jean. This took place in the middle of “Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry” book. In the movie they did not show it as being an important event. At the end they showed a little flashback of Cassie beating up Lillian Jean. At the beginning
Despite Roth’s commentary on social stratification, Divergent feels less like a dystopian allegory and more like teenage angst with a bit of romance and lots of violence thrown in. There is little reference to social or political strife (Erudite seems to want control simply for the sake of being in power, not because of misgovernment by Abnegation), and no real exposition to show how greatly the dystopian society of the future is different than the society of today. The novel neglects to explore the causes of the Great War (an important factor to the birth of a factionalized society) and fails to plausibly convey how such a political and social system could exist 100 years without confrontation and uprising. Why would each faction cede power to one other faction (effectively silencing their own voices) rather than opt for a government run by a council of equal number of
Characters in the book and movie are mostly the same to each other. For example, Mildred/Linda and Clarisse are almost exactly the same to their character in the movie and book. Clarisse is still curious and imaginative while, Mildred/Linda is still shallow. In the
In “The Outsiders” it is a rollercoaster of emotions and relationships that twists into a crime scene pulling others in. “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton is about a boy who’s town is split into 2 gangs, the greasers and the Socs. His parents are dead. He lives with his older brothers. The boys commit a crime and hide from the police, but then something happens and they get hauled back to town and they become heros.
The Outsiders “Stay gold ponyboy stay gold,” Johnny said as he was dying in the hospital bed. This story was about how greasers and socs hated each other. It was also about how three boys that lost their parents, live and survive each day on the EAST side of town. There are many differences and similarities between the movie and the book “The Outsiders” by S.E Hinton, Many elements were similar while some of the characters relationships and scenes were different.
Differences (stick with at least four)- Ponyboy has a good relationship with sodapop and gets along better with darry but still has a very good relationship with his brother. In the beginning of the book, Pony gets jumped by some Socs, but he doesn’t get cut with a knife. In the movie, they cut him. In the movie when ponyboy is talking to cherry he says how the sun on the south side and she says”good how bout the north.” In the book it's written west and east. Also in the movie johnny never got his first beating from the soc in the book he does. In the book it gave more detail and information in the movie it starts like in mid way of the book.
The first major difference between the movie and the book is how quickly the movie reveals some of the flaws of the main character Socrates Fortlow. In fact the movie starts with Socrates appearing
Here are some differences with the characters. Meg one of the main character's in the book has glasses and braces, but in the movie she doesn't have braces or glasses. Another main character is Charles-Walace and in the book he is five, doesn't go to school, and can't read, but in the movie he is six go's to school, and can read well. These are the differences
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
They talk different they would in the movie and book. They have different bed as they would be.They got on the train in the movie and but not in the book.In the book they play Euker and in the movie they play rummy.
The book and movie are completely different. It 's like comparing apples and oranges. (I 'm assuming that you used the newest version with Guy Pierce). The biggest difference is probably the ommision of Haydee and Maximillien and Valentine (three of the main character) and the addition of Jacapo. Jacapo does is in the book, but he is never a large character.
There is a big difference between the book and the series or movie. We did a little research and came out with these differences.
The differences between book and movie, we think that the story of four children who go to live with an older man (a professor) in order to get away from the air raids that are occurring at home due to the war. The film begins with Lucy telling the others about Narnia and the wardrobe, and the events in Narnia with Mr. Tumnus are shown as a flashback. In the book, these events are shown before she tells everyone about them. The characters of Mrs. Macready, Father Christmas and the Giant Rumblebuffin are cut. (Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy appear to enter the wardrobe on their own, and Aslan gives them their gifts when they reach the Stone Table. However, Father Christmas is mentioned, and the jingle bells of his sled are heard.) Maugrim's name is changed to Fenris Ulf, like in the old American Version of the chronicles. While they are staying with the professor, they find a wardrobe in an empty room that leads them to another world called Narnia.
The book differed greatly from the movie. Fernand Mondego changed in the book because, In the book Fernand meets Edmond in Merce. Edmond Dantes goes to find the treasure by himself and in the movie he goes with Jacopo. Danglar turns in Edmond to the chief of Prosecutor, but in the movie
