In this report I will be going over the importance of training and education within the military, and how they both play very important roles to not only leaders, but the service members within our ranks. The military is constantly training and, we train as we fight. However, before soldiers train, they must be well educated in all areas in which they will be training. Proper education is the key to proper training. I will also discuss the importance of becoming better educated while serving in the military, as it will make transitioning back into the
I attend a military school and i have been a part of many leadership roles at Fork union Military Academy. One of my unique experiences was when we were drilling my company to prepare for a parade. I am a day student which places us in our own platoon. In my day student platoon there were no cadets with rank at the time which means we had no particular leader. This was the perfect opportunity for me to take charge and become the temporary leader for the drill. I had no real experience with drilling besides the steps i have learned while being at FUMA for 2 years at that time. . I drilled the cadets in front of the 120 cadets in my company. I did particularly well besides one mistake on a facing movement. Taking this leadership role earned me
1. It is with great pleasure that I recommend Sergeant Aedo, Jorge to the position of full-time Honor Guard Sergeant in the NJARNG. He has proven that he has the potential and the requisite skills to be successful in this position, no matter how difficult the task or assignment.
This has been truly a very busy and the most demanding year as an Officer and Soldier in the SC National Guard due to the density and size of each exercises and events. This year provided great growth as a professional Officer. I led the planning and coordination for 2-151st SSABN successful participation in the following events. Provided planning and coordination for the planning and reception along with the operational support to the multi-stated response for Hurricane Mathew as the S3. Lead the planning and coordination of the JRSOI of personnel from at least 8 other state. This included managing and overseeing over 350 mission support hours in the rescue of individuals, personnel and VIP movements, and MEDEVAC missions. Additionally,
In 1802, Congress created an act saying West Point would be a military academy. Before it was a school, however, it was a Fort. In fact, it was an important role on the Hudson River during the Revolutionary War. General Benedict Arnold tried to surrender the fort to the British but was discovered and he fled to the British. The fort was eventually saved by Anthony Wayne. Henry Knox had the belief that West Point should become a training academy for future army officers, with the support of Alexander Hamilton and George Washington. It wasn’t until 1802 that West Point was classified as an academy. At first, the academy was seen as a weak, unorganized, and undisciplined school that was too far north to be unbiased. Then Sylvanus Thayer put in different policies and made the
Nathanial Flick was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1997. He joined the Marine Corps in 1993 where he served for ten years after completing his junior year of school Dartmouth at College. During his term he whole heartedly fought in both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars where he held the positions of Weapons Platoon Commander of the First Battalion, and First Marines and the Second Platoon Commander of the First Reconnaissance Battalion. Beginning at the officer candidate school, Nathanial Flick relied heavily on my patrol logbooks, daily journals, frequent letters home, official histories and recollections of his fellow Marines. With those, he would bring together the series of events that would trigger the writing of his autobiography “One Bullet Away: The Making of a Marine officer.”
I am writing this letter to introduce myself; I am your new mentee this year. I’m Cadet Adolph Aguirre, I came to training through the Tyler Texas Corps. I was introduced to The Salvation Army through Captain Andrew Miller III, while he was serving as the Corps Officer of The Arlington Corps in Texas. Captain Miller and I met in a class at SMU Perkins School of Theology. During the class Captain Miller and I found out that, we attended Asbury Theological Seminary around the same time. This encounter began my journey with The Salvation Army. I hold a Bachelor in Bible and Preaching; a Master of Divinity; and I am currently working on a Doctorate of Ministry.
When I was 14 years old I toured my first Military Institute at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. I witness first hand American Troops returning from Desert Storm with numerous life threatening injuries sustained during combat. Troops who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country 's freedom. I recall asking myself “What is a hero? And what it symbolizes in our modern world?” and “What does a hero look like?”, my vision of a hero as a kid included a cartoon character with superpowers wearing a cape, Instead as I stared at a young Army Sergeant, burned beyond recognition sitting on wheelchair, unable to walk as he lost both limbs while in combat, That is when I recall asking myself again, “What is a hero?” The term hero comes from the Ancient Greeks, for them a man of great strength and courage favored by the gods and in part descended from them, often regarded as a demigod and worshiped after his death. Despite decades of envisioning a hero as a cartoon figure such as Batman, Superman and Spiderman, my heroes wear desert camouflage BDU’s. Although in the vision of some, a hero may be inspiring weather it to be oneself or to others, A hero is a person who saves lives. My vision of a hero intel 's of both qualities in addition to bravery and courage which may have been someone who saves lives or puts their own life on the line to save another, the definition of a hero may be different in someone else 's visions. Personal athlete or famous
I am writing this letter to respectfully ask for your support in helping me become one of the many distinguished cadets at the United States Military Academy. I have achieved so much in my 16 years of life and being appointed into the academy will be very well-deserving and forthcoming to all the amazing opportunities that the academy has to offer. I have worked tremendously hard to obtain a 4.0 gpa and maintain a class rank in the top 100 of my 1000 person class. With your help I can hopefully be appointed as a West Point candidate for the class of 2022.
In addition, I would like to also take out the time to recognize the entire Base Logistics organization on a job well done. We are attaining record highs and lows and it all attributed to the hard
I wanted to take this Opportunity to welcome you to ONI-0566. I just came to the unit in April and can tell you that this is a great organization. The Chiefs Mess is small, but they go to great links to make sure that every sailor has every tool needed to succeed.
Supervisors, thank you for the good work that the shifts and divisions are doing. Suicides are being documented and subjects flagged. You are working through some of the kinks in RMS (photographs..etc.) DWI enforcement, and solid police work. Some reminders as we go into the next year.
Please consider my request to be recommended to attend the Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (SNCOA) in-residence course. This course provides a unique opportunity to develop strategic-level leadership and mentoring skills while increasing exposure to organizational culture of the Active and Reserve components. I believe that in my current position it is vital that I receive the opportunity to improve my techniques to enhance my leadership abilities and skills in order to mentor our future leaders and develop valuable management tools to aid me in future mission challenges.
As a member of the Special Reaction Team we are all very close but remember to give the proper custom and courtesy to all the NCOs and officers.
The term professional has always been loosely associated with the Army since its official organization in 1775. The title of Army professional in the past was restricted to only the officer ranks discarding Soldiers and the Non-Commissioned Officers. The fluctuating opinions of the professional Army was mostly due to social definitions of a professional, and the Army’s ability to meet its criteria. The Army is a profession because it requires specialized skills and human expertise, establishes ethical behavior for its members, and contain members who embrace and are stewards of the culture.
