On the basis of the links I got to study, I got some idea about the lawmaking and the role of interest groups on it. Here I am going to discuss the pros and cons of this collective influence. The lobbyists have important role in lawmaking and even the interest groups and their funds. The debate is that the amount of funds must be limited or not and what are the problems we might have to suffer.
As I go on reading I personally feel there must be some restriction for the interest group. I agree that these interest group represent large number of people in society and making strict to them may somehow looks like not fully democracy. I am not saying they are not allowed on what they are doing but some limitations should be made. Though they represent the large number of society but not all and the remaining are also counted and have to have their right.
There should not be tougher restriction but there must be some kind of limitation and it should be completely transparent to all people not some major interest group.
In my personal believe the very rigid limitations on how much money that the people can contribute to campaigns have very little individual ability to influence decision-making in this way. That is when the interest group cannot put their large amount of money in campaigns that the person who win the election will be free to

Mainly I want to talk about the lawyers, they had invested on campaigns which the government has to return by letting them win many cases which might or might not be in favor in public. Another example of interest group is real state. The price of land is increasing rapidity and their interest but the government had not control on it because the government is getting big funds and support in election. In this way the interest group is effecting the
Limiting independent expenditures is limiting money spent by individuals and groups, such as 527’s and super PACs, for candidates and parties that the individuals and groups are not directly affiliated with. There are many viable arguments in favor of the proposal; one of the strongest arguments in favor is that the most affluent groups and people should not be the most influential groups and people. If there was no limit of independent expenditures, the influence that wealthy individuals and groups have over elected officials would be potentially magnified. Thus, as long as there are restrictions on the amount of money that individuals and groups may expend in support of candidates and parties, the influence of the preponderance of the population is closer to being equal.
It is true that they represent a large influential society but that does not mean that people should not know about the true expenditures and process that was involved to get their bills passed. The government should definitely do something to make the transactions transparent. The government is right about not placing rigid limitations on interest groups as it has placed on individuals because if those limitations are lifted from the individuals and they have same power as the interest groups, they will be too many bills demanding their own benefit. In my opinion, the collective influence of interest groups does override the ability to influence politics as some citizens may fall into leader’s false promises and act for their individual needs but the collective has a major influence as citizens expect their need to be taken care of. The NARAL (National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) is one of the most important interest groups in the country and On June 26, 2016, the supreme court passed a decision on their favor supporting the women’s right to abortion and reproductive freedom that all the clinics should support abortion and re - open the facilities to make abortion more
Interest groups in the United States have many strengths to push for their interests onto the congress men. Two powerful influences in which they have the most ability is to persuade gongress their concerns andt hat is interestgroups insider tactics and outsider tactics. Insider tactics are key tactic for interest groups to be able meet congressmen, they do they do that by helping congressmen, such as helping with legislartion coahilations, drafts legilatures, and organizing hearings. Also they also could help with writing rules and legislation. The reason why a congressmen would allow for such presence because nterest groups usually focus on a particular sector or interest at which is their primary focus and could help a congress men if they not familiar with the issue. Their representatives and advisory groupsusually will get a reaction to their proposals. The other powerfull tool at which interest groups have towards influencing congress is their outsider tactics. Outsider tactics is when intersest groups use media and public opinion to get their message across also publim mobilization. This imposses pressure on congrsess to listen to the interest group. One major example used in our textbook was used by the interest group for autodeals. Which used the mobilization of public support to help the small buisnesses. The outsider tactics are very key to a interest group howver the major power and influence comes from the money that keep the group running, that is also its
In this essay I will be discussing the affect interest groups have on relationship between Congress and Special Interest Groups. Interest groups are made of people that share a common interest and try to influence public policy to benefit themselves. There are several categories and subcategories of these groups that play a huge role in giving a voice to the citizens of this country. There are many weakness in our system giving these groups the ability to impact policy making to boosting a candidate for office. With the amount of power given to interest groups there comes a question as to whether or not their influence affects the legitimacy of the American legislative process.
Of course, such influence establishes a tyranny of the rich that our forefathers clearly wanted to prevent. Senator Russ Feingold, a proponent of campaign finance reform, said, "The current campaign finance system is fueling the transformation of our representative democracy into a corporate democracy creating a political system that allots power in direct relation to the amount of money an individual or interest group can contribute" (Campaign Finance Reform). The horror of such a governmental system has fueled the cries for campaign finance reform.
In a pluralist democracy like in the United States, interest groups have played a major role throughout the history through highly organized factions and are aimed at different levels of government. Lobbying is one of the tactics of the interest groups to aid their agenda through implementing new laws and regulations. "If you want to have your face in the light, you should have your back in the dark". Similarly, the influences of the interests groups and lobbyists have good and bad effects on the people and the society.
In my opinion, there must be strict rules toward how interest group lobby and their amount of spending to lobby. Political leaders are elected by the citizens so that they can make regulations that support general interest of public not only certain group of people. Interest group might also be doing same thing for betterment of people but sometimes they would be doing something that would not be in favor of people. Therefore, it is necessary to make strict regulations for
Restrictions shall not merely cover the spending part of the interest groups but shall also identify the beneficiaries receiving the benefits. Nevertheless, it should not prevent the interest groups to play their part as a bridge between the large society and the legislature. It should be in the best interest of the democracy that every society should have the right to be heard and the interest groups shall be the mediator to access the voice of the public to the government.
Limiting interest group is like cutting off the blood that flows through America’s vein. Interest groups plays a pivotal role in todays U.S society ranging from but not limited to; helping Congress and the administration to draft legislation and policy initiatives, provide information both to government and the public on a broad range of topical issues, and contribute significantly to political
An interest group also known as a special interest group or a lobby is an organized group of individuals, organizations, or businesses who share a goal. The interest group forms an alliance in support of their cause to influence public policy and government officials in the group 's favor. The goal of the group could be focused on small group, such as the Japan Eraser Manufacturer 's Association; or the goal could be focused on a large public group, such as family and friends of public school-aged children in the United States. "The most important lobbying forces in any society are the various entities of government: national, regional, and local government agencies and institutions such as the military" (Thomas).???????????
But interest groups do not have a real place in congress. For them to affect motions in congress they need to utilise their powers of persuasion to influence the right people.
interest groups are activity involved in the legislature process (on the national level) seeking to
Public interest lobbies form a linkage element between citizens and governmental elites. In lobbying they articulate what they perceive to be the issue positions of certain sectors of society. Public interest groups also play an important role in facilitating the political participation of their members and related attentive publics. By helping to bring new issues to the table, interest groups influence the shape of political agendas.
Interest groups can be both bad and good for democracy. The interest groups are able to lobby to congress to help out different organizations. They basically work on a “you do a favor for me and I’ll do a favor for you later” basis. This gives the lobbyist an influence over congress. They can be bad for the democracy because too much influence and power can be a bad thing. The issue they are lobbying for may not be a good cause.
The most common activity for interest groups is lobbying. But that is not the only activity they are involved in, they are also involved in activities like forming Political Action Committees (PAC’s) and election activities. Lobbying is done by groups to influence the government decisions on policies. In the United States, almost all of the interest groups employ lobbyists to influence policy making. Lobbyists work to try to persuade governmental officials. Some ways they achieve their goals are persuasion, economic leverage, and disruption. The most important rule to lobbying is the entrance. You must be able to influence an official. The more spread out the interest groups money is throughout the country, the more likely it is that the legislators will listen to the concerns of that group.
