In January of 2004, my parents surprised my sister and I with our very own puppy. We were ecstatic because it was our first pet. When we got the dog home, we immediately began thinking of suitable names. Finally, we decided on Gracie, and we have been enjoying her company ever since. Nearly 11 years later my parents decided to surprise us again. They bought a new puppy named Molly and welcomed her to the family. Since then Gracie and Molly have been the best of friends. They enjoy snuggling under blankets, taking naps, and playing fetch. Although Gracie and Molly share many of the same interest, they differ in that of breed, age, and attitude. The first major difference between Gracie and Molly is their breed. Gracie is a mix breed of a Jack Russel Terrier and a Rat Terrier. Her breed is specifically for hunting foxes; however, she can also be used for farm work and trail digging. As a result of the Rat Russel uses, this breed is normally very small. This enables the dog to fit into tight spaces such as fox holes. Molly on the other hand, is a German Shorthair Pointer. Of course, she originated from Germany, and the breeds main …show more content…
Gracie is very laid back and calm; whereas, Molly is energetic and vibrant. Also, Gracie tends to be very ill-mannered, especially around a crowd of people. She is not very good with children nor adults. However, this could be a consequence of her breeds characteristics, and not primarily because she has a bad attitude. Molly tends to be the exact opposite. She is very friendly, and moderately well in big crowds. Also, she loves to have the attention all on her, and she has more energy than most dogs her age. However, Molly can be quite territorial when it comes to other dogs. While Gracie does not mind the company of other canines, Molly can be aggressive and intrusive. Thankfully, despite these attitude mishaps, both dogs are well
Lindsay has an absolute advantage in washing dogs, while Amy has an absolute advantage in cleaning windows.
Meg Murry is from the book A Wrinkle in Time and acts many different ways. While she is in school she acts mean and rude. At home she acts kind to her family and pets. The other students at school see Meg as frightful. Her brother Charles thinks of her respectively though.
In 2008, I spent the summer with my Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins in Missouri. They picked me up at the airport, and the car ride was filled with discussion about a puppy they had just gotten 2 days prior. It was explained that my cousins wanted a dog since their friends’ family had gotten a dog recently. My Uncle, happy to oblige, stopped at a neighbor’s house one day, who was giving away puppies they could not care for, as is common in small town America. He picked out the cutest one and went on his way. The family was so happy to have “Roxy” in their home and on their farm.
The Labradoodle is a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Standard Poodle. This dog is reasonably active, friendly, and tender. Labradoodle comes with a curly coat that requires adequate upkeep.
In Orphan Train, Christina Baker Kline weaves a strong friendship between two characters, Vivian and Molly, despite a lengthy list of differences. The most blatant contrast, and the root cause of many other differences, is age and the separate eras both Vivian and Molly grow up in. In the span of her life, Vivian Nielsen, a ninety-one year old widow, experiences the Great Depression, World War II, and a technology boom impossible to keep up with. On the other hand, Molly Ayer is a sixteen year old tech-savvy foster child who uses “her Goth persona like armor” against an unsympathetic society (Kline 4). Another dissimilarity is ethnicity. Vivian is a first generation Irish immigrant and in being a Penobscot Native American Indian, Molly is unable to be more different than Vivian. While these differences seem apparent, the
Describing the Poodle as an individual breed is best articulated by whats called a "breed standard." This specific standard is compared with what genetics determine - a dog's physical characteristics, such as height, weight, body type, color, or coat. Breed standards also spell out the breeds desired temperament, personality, and faults. Breed standards assigned by a kennel or dog club may vary slightly from nation to nation, and can change over time.
In the book Orphan Train it highlights two women throughout the book. Both Vivian and Molly were very similar but very different. Both of them went through a get deal of tragedy at such a young age that made them stronger. Since both of them have gone through so much they have same characterizes. Christina Baker Kline makes three points throughout the play on how these characters are both similar, but different.
The two dogs also have similar body structures which is strange considering how different they look. One similar body structure is that they are both born with long tails. Boxers usually get their tails clipped, therefore they can keep their Boxer look. Jack Russells keep their long tails throughout their whole life. Both companions need room to run outside.
On the other hand, Poodles are long and lanky, yet squarely built. Their ears sit near the side of their head and fold down onto the skull. The Kennel Club says that Poodles are, “...squarely built, well proportioned, moving soundly and carrying himself proudly…”
Ruby is especially caring towards others. An example of this is when she stands up for Ronald to keep him out of trouble, “the little fella’s going rumma, crazy. He’s either gonna cry or run.” Here, the authors show the amount of care Ruby shows towards others. Another example is when she lets Maisey come joint first in the race with her, “Maisey! I can’t beat her.” This highlights the kind nature of Ruby, as she knows Maisey will be happy if she wins the race, and sacrifices her first place position to make Maisey happy. Equally, Molly is also a kind and caring person. An example of this is when she takes Grace and Daisey along when she escapes, even though it will slow her down. In this example, the director emphasises how caring the protagonist is as she is willing to increase the risk of being caught just to save others. In the book and the film, both protagonists are portrayed to be incredibly kind and caring individuals. Surely, this leads to the conclusion that both of these people should labelled
It is very easy to tell they are different but not many people can list the variances in their appearance. One of the first things that you notice when looking specifically at my dogs is that Mona has a deep black colored fur coat, and Leo has a light caramel brown fur coat. Another characteristic of their fur is that Mona has very thick dense hair that is short, and Leo have medium length thin hair. Above all else, the most notable feature is their snouts. Characteristically
Pugs are describe as multum in parvo( much in little), referring to the pugs personality and small size. This is shown by compactness of form, well knit proportions, and hardness of a well developed muscle. It’s weight from 14 to 18 pounds (dog or bitch) as desirable.
Maltipoo. A Maltipoo is a cross-breed between two adorable dogs, the Maltese and the Poodle. Typically, a Maltipoo is affectionate in nature and fun-loving. He is also adaptable and can fit to any homes and families, whether you have an apartment or a house, or have kids or elderly. Just ensure that these children and elderly can handle them carefully. However, they are best recommended for children who are more than 6 years old since they are small and can be easily injured if not being handled with care. A Maltipoo loves long cuddles and is sensitive to human wants and needs. They are also barkers which makes them a good watchdog that can alert you if something is going one.
I’ve had Maci for a little over 6 years now. While I was younger, I was always asking for a puppy, so I got Maci as a Christmas present when I was 9 years old. When I first got, her she was only 6 weeks old, and I was so excited to finally have a cute little puppy. Because I got her when I was so young, I have gotten very attached to her. I’m the one that named, trained, and the one that spends the most time with Maci.
A person is thinking of getting a pet to be his companion and to entertain his kids, but he has encountered a predicament: they choose a mediocre feline or a magnificent canine. While there are many advantages of each option, the dog is a better option for companionship, protection, and loyalty.
