The first quote I have is from pg 61 where the narrator talks about the people in the desert. “Only the vision of leaving the desert kept them moving through the heat and dust”. What I believe this means is this means is they are able to keep on moving by thinking of a better life. It means they are able to keep trying and not give up. I believe this is a good example of perseverance. The next quote is from pg 65 when Salava thinks about his uncle and Marial. “It was almost as if they had left their strength with him”. This means that he wanted to get to the camp in their honor. Since they died he was going to persevere and get to the camp for them. The last quote I have is from pg 66 when Salava was thinking of proving himself. “They are wrong
The creaking of the wagon and steady clip-clop clip-clop rhythm of the horse's pacing gait relax Gaedbre; his mind wandering peacefully over the natural beauty around him. Every now and then he issued a "tsk tsk" or "hup!, Falhofnir, hup!" to keep the horse moving along. Falhofnir was a large sorrel draft horse with flaxen mane and tail, white blaze, socks and feathering. He and Gulfaxi, his twin brother, were a matched pair who usually worked as a team, but this was a one horse job.
Terra, a beautiful baby girl, was the daughter of Glenn and CoCo. Glenn and CoCo weren’t ordinary folk. They were king and queen of the large city Charleston. On the day of Terra’s birth, CoCo was enduring tremendous amounts of pain in her lower abdomen, as if the all mighty Zeus himself struck her with a bolt of lightning. The baby was coming and CoCo was stricken with sickness. The guards were rushed to retrieve the miraculous healing plant that was said to cure any illness. After almost an hour of labor Terra was welcomed into the world. Unfortunately, the healing plant didn’t have much effect on CoCo, but it was just enough to heal Terra. CoCo ended up dying shortly after Terra was born. Glenn and CoCo never decided on a name for
1. They decided to create a union together. 2. The little girl was abducted brutally.
The chapter continues with the two boys, Tom and Huck, carefully walking through the path. They walk past the kitchen, where they try to avoid Jim, Miss. Watson’s slave. Jim hears them and comes to investigate. The two boys are hiding, while Jim comes close to them, but doesn’t see them. Jim decides to stay in that position until he hears the noise again. While Huck is debating whether he should scratch his nose, Jim falls asleep. Tom tells Huck about Jim, that he is respected by the other slaves, for going against the devil. But Jim had begun to become cocky for seeing the devil and fighting the witches.
The piercing weee-ooo-weee-ooo of the approaching ambulance could be heard in the distance, the sound growing steadily louder, and overcome with emotion, Booker slid to the floor with a sob. For the briefest of moments, he had thought everything would be okay, but the reality was, he had failed his friend yet again. If he’d fought through the dizziness and remained conscious, he could have calmly convinced Tom to go to the hospital instead of trying to trick him. He’d underestimated Tom’s gullibility, and he had paid the ultimate price. The DNA evidence was gone, and there was nothing left to link the seven men to the rape except his and Horshack’s witness account and the video. But the video was of no use because he knew Tom well enough to know even if he tracked down the Keymaster, the young officer would never give permission to use the tape in court. Once again he felt the weight of his guilt pushing down on him and his misery intensified. He was a failure as a cop and a friend, and because of him, the seven Pi Taus would never be brought to justice.
I agreed, Michal raised the same question you have posited. However, I think I get it wrong them. To be fair is confusing to me as well. "ALL" doesn't make sense because we have 13 warehouses and approximately half captured in this report, therefore, the term "ALL" might be a bit dicing. Hang in there, I'm hoping to get back to you before the close of today with more definite answers. Thanks and sorry Michal
1. "When the fog clears to where I can see, I'm sitting in the day room. They didn't take me to the shock shop this time. I remember they took me out of the shaving room and locked me in seclusion" (Kesey 9).
The next quote is from chapter 19 it says ¨ If I am not careful he thought they´ll last as long as I want them to...¨. I chose this one because it tells about his food and i
I believe that at the end of chapter 1 in the book we are meant to feel that Cole is a very mean person. Also that he thinks he is better than everyone and he is superior, the evidence to show this is on page 4 when it states “Still standing on the dock in front of everyone, Cole smirked as he undressed.” This piece of evidence shows that cole thinks he is better than the people because he is smirking as he undresses in front of them. Another piece of evidence to show that cole thinks he is better than everyone is on page 5 and it says “Nothing could be farther from the truth. To cole this was another big game.” This clearly is showing that cole thinks he is better than everyone he takes everything as a game he doesn’t really realize what is

Protagonist goal - I believe that the protagonist's goal was to act in whichever way he wanted. He never wanted to please anyone but himself.
Emelie squealed sheepishly, and she quickly shoved her books into her bag and slammed her locker shut.
1. In your own words, what was the author’s main idea in this chapter? In chapter 1, the main idea in this chapter was intriguing perspective and ways to counter our innate faults.
Reading Chapter 16-22 made me look at Tomi differently. The war forced Tomi to become a man at an early age. The responsibility of the father and grandpa was forced upon him after both of them were taken away to prison camps. Tomi had to maintain the chickens and the family katana. Responsibility at a young age is nothing new to me as well; I am the second to the youngest child in the family. By the time I got to fourth grade all my older siblings left to America to pursue their education, leaving me to watch my younger brother and do all the chores at the house because the youngest was not at age to assist me.
Every night I would sneak out to see you, the kids next door would peek out their windows and watch me shaking their heads or offering to help me but I didn’t want it. It was tradition you know, to meet up with each other no matter how far apart we were. I remember the first night we met. I was working in the hospital and you stupidly had cut yourself whilst cooking and needed thirteen stitches, we became friends and then you finally asked me out for coffee. You sure were something to look at, you only came up to my shoulder and had these beautiful blue eyes that you just couldn’t help but get lost in. The date went great except that you nearly spilt coffee all over me but at least I agreed to go out with you again. I remember feeling exhilarated
