Have you ever seen a Twitter name in your timeline and think to yourself, how did they come up with that name or what does it mean? With all the blogs, articles, and podcasts around, I decided to put a different spin on Twitter and share the more personal side and ask "What does your Twitter name/handle mean and is there a story behind it?" I asked my followers or anyone to share their story and find out who they are, what they do, or anything about them. My story is Deuce Inception because it puts a more personal spin on who I am and how the name came about since I use Deuce on the Clock instead of my real name. It shows I'm not a Twitter bot or an anonymous troll, a person with a story to tell, and have a life outside Twitter. Most people responded back with the same response, " It's really not an interesting story" yet after reading the stories I responded back how much I loved the stories. Whether it was one line or several lines each story shared a piece of that person, how they think, and who they are outside of Twitter. I was way off with my guesses about what their name meant and that was …show more content…
Tweets that may have turned you off now might make sense when you see them in the future. Hearing some personal stories might open doors for new friendships and it may even help someone if they are having a tough time in life at the moment. I've had some rough patches in the past few months and talking with others or reading tweets has helped me turn a rough day around. So you will see me laugh, joke, make funny tweets, and post inspirational quotes when you visit my timeline or see me on yours. Sometimes you see a joke or quote that fits the mood or changes your day for the better. I hope the tweets you read make you smile, laugh, or take a pause from a bad day and change your day for the
Team Sloan started in 2001 with three crossbred gilts were used in a small FFA project with the thought of them being competitive for 4-H and FFA in Missouri. Scott Sloan grew up raising purebred hogs and wanted his kids to have the same experience. Smoke is coming from the woods. The fire is burring pine trees and is spreading.
1. What is the danger of a single story? What does this make you think about? How does this relate to you/your life?
2: Picture this, you may mock someone on Twitter, not knowing how it could damage her self-esteem and her reputation. Think about the life that will be affected just because of your tweet, just because you want to express yourself
I wanted the tweets to be a look at The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne from a outsiders view. Naturally as social media available to the public the tweets would most never contain things calling people out personally. Ultimately taking out some of the drawn out and partly boring internal conflict. The tweets are a modern interpretation of The Scarlet letter and how the characters internal conflict is bottled up and only shown indirectly.
Twitter creates a positive impact through simple connection; this connection calls up raw emotion, enables people to keep in constant communication with friends and colleagues across the world, and constantly updates people with news from everywhere on the globe just as it is happening. “Twitter is my lifeline to the world.” Twitter enables Eltahawy to stay updated on news as it breaks, keeping her on top of every story and in constant communication by
Proclaimed as the hottest company since Google and Facebook, Twitter introduced a revolutionary micro-blogging service in 2006 that allowed users to spread and share short messages of 140 characters (“tweets”) with friends and strangers subscribing to follow their communication flow (as so called “followers”) in order to find out what is happening right now from any point of the globe.
I would like to introduce you to Twitter Inc., a modern and popular form of self-expression on the Internet. It provides users with a plethora of services including Twitter, an application that allows the user to share and distribute content to their followers. Since we are given these incredible tools to communicate, we need to use them. An example of a time that social media was used for good was last year when the Stop Kony campaign was trending on twitter. At it’s most popular time, #StopKony was tweeted more 1200 times a minute. The Stop Kony marketing team created a video as an experiment, having no idea that they would change the
A name is not just what you’re called, it is who you are. It is what you stand for and ultimately defines you as a person. Growing up, I used to think my name did not fit me and that nothing that my name stood for had anything to do with me. Now that I am older, I understand the real meaning of my name and how the traits that are connected with my name relate to the person that I have become and continue to develop into. My name represents who I am and who I plan to be.
On social media, I’m very cautious with what I put out there for a multitude of reasons. Looking back at my last fifteen tweets, about eight of those tweets are Van Meter related, which most tend to be about success of Van Meter sports(final scores of our games or news coverage). Two of the tweets are happy birthday tweets, wishing Connor Guess and Drew Gordon a happy birthday, and I inserted a few pictures of us to go along with it. The remaining five tweets are sports related, with four of them being motivational stories about athletes, and the other one referencing the video game Madden. The other thing that stands out to me on social media now that I think about it, is who I am following and who is following me. I can honestly say that a good amount of people that follow me, around
In our society, social networking has become very popular over the last 5 years. Twitter is a social networking site that allows users to become “followers” of other people and stay informed about current events and social trends. Many argue whether or not these social websites such as Twitter, are good for society. In two articles about Twitter, the authors present different arguments about why Twitter is good or bad for society. The author of “Heading off disaster, one Tweet at a time” by Jim Spellman, states that Twitter is a good way of communicating current events happening around the world. The other article, “Is Twitter Bad for National Security?” by Tony Bradley, argues that Twitter could have dangerous effects on our nation’s

Sometimes your AOL username is embarrassing only because you’re not sure why you made it what it is. We would assume that’s the situation with this Twitter user’s username. What on earth is “golden ice” and why would you make your name that?
