I awakened in a cold sweat, breathing tough while clutching the blankets with white knuckles. I quickly glanced from left to right, my heart only beginning to slack after I realized I was awake. Carefully stepping out of bed, still reeling from the frightening movie my brain played while I slept, I peaked toward the door and froze. Something conveyed the impression that something was different regarding my room though I couldn’t put my finger on it. Pulling a blanket around my body, I attempted to block out the frigid air and overcome my shivering. The sun barely peeked through the closed blinds of my window. It was still early dawn. There was, of course, no way that I was going back to bed after such a terrifying event, so I made my way …show more content…
My parents were already left for work. I finished my daily routine of getting ready, jumping at each shadow. My my steps were quick as I left my house and walked toward the school. A boy left a few houses away just as I did. I caught his gaze and he gave me a way-to-perky wave. A modest wave is what I returned to him. It must have been enough of an invitation since over he ran to walk along side me. “Hi there! I’ve never noticed you around before. You’re the new neighbor girl, right? I’m Arrow.” His voice was lower than I had expected. He appeared extra defined in close proximity. “Annabelle,” I replied. “Welcome to Texas, Anna! Are you enrolled in Highridge?” I gave him a nod and watched his eyes sparkle as he went into full detail referring to the school both of us went to. Between the five block long walk, he managed to discuss classes he did and didn’t approve of, teachers that were “the best,” teachers that “hated children and shouldn’t be a teacher,” each sport and their team, and the best clubs to join. “I’m just starting today. I need to learn the ropes before I ever endeavor to busy myself with clubs and sports.” I explained as the two of us reached the school doors. Thousands of students stood on campus with their friends. Here I was, the new kid. I should have counted myself lucky that I already had a friendly person to talk to, still I couldn’t avoid feeling that lonely new kid status creep up as I stood by Arrow. He was adorable
"I recall. Sorry I didn't speak to you, I had quite an anxious day." Her eyes traveled down my body. Was she... checking me out? Judging me? I didn't know how to react or what to think, so I suppressed a smirk and shifted my weight to my left leg. I kept asking myself the same question: why was I so smitten with a girl? All my life, I had silly crushes on attractive boys who'd never notice me. I didn't even know Demeri, but I felt like I could know her very well. "I moved here a little late in the year."
Caleb Logan walks into High Field High School’s grand hall entrance and looks around him. There are students sitting on benches talking and laughing and students sitting at tables noses buried deep in textbooks, books, and homework. Some students looked like the cool kids in leather jackets and hair all done. He quickly scanned the crowd again looking for his best friends Lilliana and Sebastian. Caleb’s eyes lingered on a boy in the crowd of cool kids and saw him coughing and hacking. His eyes lingered a little longer, then he went off to find Sebastian and Lilliana.
He was wearing a blue T-shirt and khaki shorts; his face was pale probably from the sun. As I called out to him, he smiled and came to greet me.
I ran up the stairs with my grandmother following behind. I leaped into bed with mixed emotions about what I had learned about myself and my past, I was amazed that magic was real, I was mad at my grandmother for lying to me, I was ecstatic about starting my training, whatever that may be, I was bitter about my parents being stuck in time. I let this all go and let my grandmother tuck me in, feeling safe and warm in my familiar bed. I felt like a child thinking they were safe from monsters when they were tucked in tight. I cleared my mind and fell
The following morning, a Portkey deposited Fleur at the iron gate protecting Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft. She made her way to her apartment where a small but well-placed living room featured a large window overlooking Hogwarts’ Quidditch pitch and a fireplace built into a bordering wall. A bookcase, end table, couch, and two plush chairs filled the room. To Fleur’s left, a kitchenette snuggled aside a short hallway leading to her bathroom and bedroom.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Five thirty, blared the most grotesque thing known to man. Slow to rise out of the comfort of my throne, only to stumble into those dirty cold clothes I had been wearing for the previous three weeks. Nearly falling up stairs to find what left-overs were in the fridge. Disappointed, as last night my mother must have been on a cleaning frenzy. The dishes done, tables wiped down, and the fridge picked clean like a vulture scavenged a decaying rabbit in the desert. I guess a Gogurt would have to suffice this morning. Closing the freezer, the light of the oven was on. And then, as if a being hit by a falling boulder, Pizza! Oh the Gods above must have been watching out for me; there were three slices of peperoni pizza left in the box. Five minutes later, with a full stomach, I was out the door and on my way to the most delightful place on the face of planet earth.
I take off my black coat and exhale relief, seeing that my lower quadrants are back to normal.
It 's the same thing everyday, wake up, drive, sit, and drive back. This life I 've devolved into is rinse wash repeat. This life I 've made for myself is no life at all. The city just a hustle and bustle and more drones to walk by each day. So many people in one city and yet no connection to any of it. Everyday walking into work, looking around, realizing that the connectivity quickly diminishes from our day to day life. The “How are you” ’s become “Hey” ‘s and the conversations become non existent. Nobody cares anymore. Phone call after phone call, paper after paper, it all becomes a blur.
I was wearing a beautiful blue dress with sapphire gems all around the chest area as I entered the ball with Ciel and Sebastian. I took a good look around here, the hallway was lined with gold. There was a servant ready to escort us to the ball room. "Hello, come this way." He said, walking forward. "Wow, this place is so fancy!" I exclaimed, looking around. "It 's fake gold." Ciel bluntly replied, bringing my hopes down. I sighed. Ciel sounded like he wasn 't in a very good mood.
Time is indecisive. It’s either with you or against you. What I’ve noticed is whenever you’re
I shut my suitcase and wriggled it off of my bed, giving my room one last sweep before we left for the month. I spun around in anxiety ready for the 6 hour travel to what I had been waiting for all summer. The airport was crowded and I was jostled by the crowd like a fish in the current. I finally found my parents and brother and we handed the lady our tickets before boarding the plane. We found seats next to each other and sat down in comfortable silence. I saw a movie about to start and put on my headphones. Soon I was lulled to sleep by the gentle voices of the fictional, soft-spoken characters. Just before I slipped into the darkness of sleep I wondered if Padfoot was comfortable in the pet section. When I woke up I was being shaken by my mother, who was pointing at James while talking on the phone. I grabbed James and both of our bags, while my parents grabbed theirs. We got off the plane and outside. We called a taxi to pick us up and went to the car dealership. By this time James had woken up and was playing on my phone. They finally left and got into a purple mustang with green stripes on the front. I gently took my phone back and checked the time. It was four thirty. I knew that Disney World wasn’t far and rolled my window down before giving back my phone and taking a nap.
Slowly, I got out of bed and got dressed in some of the clothes that I brought along with me. Once I was dressed, I made my way out of the room and down the stairs. Almost everyone was crowded in one spot; The kitchen. I knew this was going to happen.
It 's early November, the brown leaves from the trees above are covering the sidewalk.
“Jordyn get up,” yelled my mom. I rolled over to my side and groaned at the sight that it was only eight o’clock. But then I remembered that my cousins were coming to my grandparent’s green and white house this weekend.
