On the road to Damascus the Lord intervenes in Saul’s life (Acts 9: 3-6) and he is genuinely converted during that encounter with the Lord Jesus. In all honesty, Saul has suffered a great deal of pain. However, Saul changes dramatically into a new person by the end of the novel. From the beginning of Indian Horse, Saul has made some decisions that caused his life to tumble over. On the other hand, Saul looks back to his past, and he is able to invision all the mistakes he has made. By this, he finally realizes the choices he has made and wishes to fix them.

Saul had previously wiped out all of the mediums and wizards from the land because they were evil in the eyes of Yahweh. Because of his realized hypocrisy, he disguised himself and visited the medium his servants had sought out in Endor. He told the medium to call upon Samuel and so she immediately suspected that he is Saul.
