Derek Jeter: The Best Baseball Player

Derek Jeter was born on June 26, 1974, in Pequannock, New Jersey. His father, Charles Jeter, made the family move to Michigan when Derek was only 4 years old. The reason was because his father went to Michigan University, so he could become a doctor. Derek started playing baseball when he was five years old. He continued playing through high school, when he a batting average of .500. He won numerous awards which helped him get drafted in 1992 by the Yankees in the first round.

However, Jackie’s first year playing changed this. Jackie Robinson was one of the most important people in the history of baseball, and probably in the history of American sports. Everybody in uniform at the Tampa Bay Rays game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park wore the number “42” as Major League Baseball celebrated its fifth annual Jackie Robinson Day.

Hank Aaron is most commonly known for beating Babe Ruth's home run record of 714. He overcame racism and became one of the best players to ever play the game of baseball. He is a very rare, cross hitting Right Fielder. If you are a left handed hitter, you will have your left hand on the top of the bat handle and the right on the bottom. For righties it is vice-versa. But Hank was different. He was a lefty but he had his right hand on top and it made his swing look very awkward. After spending the early years of his life growing up less than 30 miles away from Yankee Stadium, his family moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where Derek began playing tee-ball at the age of five. Thanks to the influence of his grandmother, he grew up a Yankees fan and idolized outfielder Dave Winfield. Derek would normally return to New Jersey during the summer to visit his grandparents and attend Yankees games.

He was a black nice man and his neighborhood treated him bad and then he finally got over with it and started playing baseball. 20 years later he was grown up and got a call from a white guy. Branch Rickey was a white guy and owned the Dodgers and wanted Jackie to come play so that other black people can play in this league. They wanted a strong man who can take this stuff.

Jackie Robinson will be remembered mainly because he broke the MLB color barrier. This means that he was the first African American player in the MLB. However, he also did many other amazing things such as fighting in the Army and being the rank of Commander. Lastly, he will be remembered because he gave African Americans hope that segregation will get better and that you can do anything you believe in. Even though he was hated while he played in the MLB, he is now one of the most beloved

Robinson’s path to the Major League Baseball (MLB) was astounding, becoming the first African American to play in the MLB. Yadier Molina who was born on July 13th in the year of 1982 is a Puerto Rican baseball player that has found his way to the MLB and has really made a mark on the game. ("Yadier Molina." Molina was born in Bayamon Puerto Rico and grew up with his father Benjamin Molina, his mother Gladys Matta Molina, and then his two brothers Bengie and Jose. Yadi’s father was a ameture catcher in Puerto Rico but also worked as a toolsman too. Baseball was in the family for a long time and that is all that him and his brothers knew growing up which would explain why they all three made a professional career out of it. Both his brothers Bengie and Jose ended up being major league catchers as well, but nothing like their brother Yadier. They all knew he had something special growing up and playing as a kid. Mickey had insane power from behind the plate he not only the right mindset on what to do when he saw the ball coming but he could also bat both right and left handed (Mickey Mantle Stats). Mickey was one of the best ambidextrous hitters in baseball time. He even hit over one hundred home runs from both sides of the plate(Left or Right, Where's the Might?).
