The 1600 and 1700 enlightenment philosophers had a very bright way of looking at how the government should be ran. I also believe that the colonies had the right idea of rebelling against england because england did not have the same ideas the philosophers had. The Magna Carta was written by english noblemen, and the document was to protect their rights by limiting the power of the king. The document simply stated that one man should have 25 barons.

As American citizens, we are all taught to love and respect our country whether it’s our flag or the national anthem, and since the beginning of our great nation the question of what is and is not truly patriotic has plagued our society. Dating back to the early 1800’s, we have always fought for our right to think and speak freely in order to contribute to the progression of society and challenge ideas in order to better our foundation, and yet every election year millions of people claim that one must support the president and his or her decisions simply because they’re the president as if pretending that someone’s decisions are good unifies a group of people. This is said as if that were the end of it and Mao Zedong is breathing up backs
Refutes- An example which refutes Gladwell’s claims of the natural ability to succeed include Benjamin Franklin’s natural ability to push himself to become a better person. His self-encouraged impulse to achieve “moral perfection” is a perfect example which deeply impacted his life. Through the self-analysis he encounters through his written methods of examination and organization, he is able to come to a self-realization that he doesn’t need to be perfect, but merely accepting of one’s flaws. He uses the example of the “speckled axe” to show that it is the imperfections that make someone perfect for who they are, and as soon as they accept them, the sooner they can take advantage of them.
A democratic republic, while it is definitely the better system, is closer to tyranny than a pure democracy. Little would get done if everything was a vote, however, no one would ever do something tyrannical. There is a lot more corruption and tyranny in the republic system because certain people gain power when in a pure democracy, everyone has the same power and will be able to have an input on everything. However, a pure democracy would be very inefficient, putting everything to a vote would take forever and there would be a lot of disputes. A democratic republic gives the power to the people without being inefficient.

The word ‘’Democracy’’ has been defined many ways by many people all over the country. This word has also meant different things over the years as things began to change throughout the United States that has been discussed and implemented in both ancient Greece and ancient Rome. People in the past had different views on Democracy because of the differences back then, later people realized that they really have a voice to fight for their beliefs. The main concept of democracy is being fair leading towards ‘equity’, rather than ‘equality’. This system can only be found in less than half of the world's countries. Democracy is mainly a government by the people and for the people, in which the power is given to the people themselves. The people have the right to then elect representatives who manage their power in an electoral system by initiative, referendum, and recall. These powers allow the people to become involved in the legislative process. Luckily, the voters nowadays are informed enough to make competent decisions. The first one, Initiative enables voters proposing statutes on the ballot directly or indirectly, then referendum is a term that refers to a measure on the ballot, and recall allows citizens to remove

Democracy has rapidly become the premier form of government in the world. The growth was rapid and sudden. This increase is intriguing for the fact of how quick it was. There were many different proposed forms of government, but viewing how democracy became that fundamental idea gives us an insight into the cultures that formed from it. The subjugation of other systems is at the root of democracy (Zinn 17). It pushes out conflicting ideas and propagates itself.
