Nothing worth having in this world can be accomplished without hard work and dedication. This is a concept Nicole has become seemingly familiar with. Nicole has gotten used to picking herself up, brushing herself off, and trying again – literally and figuratively. As a figure skater, falling is a common occurrence, “It’s nothing out of the ordinary,” Nicole had said in an interview, “we have all become used to it over the years”. Nicole has been skating since she was two years old, and started competing when she was six years old. Ever since she started she was determined to master a very specific jump – the axel. That single, one and a half rotation, jump is what she has been working toward for years, along with other elements. “That was

Have you ever thought what it would be like to be dancing up on your toes with the American Ballet theatre (ABT)? That’s just what happened, Misty Copeland currently a principal dancer at ABT had a dream to dance there ever since she started to dance and she didn't think that she could do it,but with training, hard work, and passion you can achieve anything. For the month of September I decided to read “Life in Motion” written by Misty Copeland. This book was very inspiring in many ways. I learned so much that I didn’t know, not only about Misty Copeland but also about ballet. I decided to read this book because, Misty Copeland is one of my idols, she is also a big inspiration and I really wanted to learn more about her. Overall this book was amazing. I would recommend it to not only ballet dancers but to also people who love non-fiction because it is full of so many details and a lot of imagery that it makes a person feel like they are in her shoes dancing through her life. I would recommend this book because many people can relate to Misty Copeland in many ways, your mind wanders while reading, and because the plot was very unbelievable and surprising.

She strived for greatness and came back from that meet better than ever.
She had a lot of muscle and power in her body. Sense she had a lot of muscle and power she could do this stuff a lot easier. She could also do this stuff because she was very short and skinny and it was easy to lift her body weight. Simone became interested in the sport of gymnastics at the age of six. When she was in school, she took a field trip to Bannon’s Gymnastix with people from her school. She really liked it there and wanted to train there. She told her mom and her mom said that she could train there. So she started training there with her coach Aimee Boorman. She trained there for 11 years. She was on the competitive team. Her coach worked her extremely hard. When her coach Aimee moved gym’s and Simone knew that she was a great coach even though she got mad at her sometimes because she did not want to do what her coach said. So she went with her. Training in that gym continued to go just as well as it did before. She was working hard, and trying her
On July 27, 1948, in San Jose, California, Albert and Doris Fleming gave birth to a figure skating star(1). Starting at age 9, Peggy had many coaches, but the most important was Carlo Fassi, who was her guide to the Olympics (1). At the age of 12, Fleming's older coach was among those killed, in a plane crash, with the U.S. figure skating team in Belgium(2). When Fassi took over Peggy’s coaching, it was the beginning of her fame. From 1964 to 1968 Fleming dominated World Level Women’s competition(1). Many Romantic poets embrace the concept of self -expression through the use of imagination to convey their personal visions of love and life. The power of emotion is evident in Lord Byron's poems. It can be possible that light can be emitted through the darkness of night. In his poem, "She Walks In Beauty", Lord Byron epitomizes the balance between two opposing forces. The two forces involved are the darkness and the light at work in a woman's beauty both internal and external. Throughout the poem, Byron uses imagery through the visual senses that allows us to observe the symmetry between a woman's beauty and the mixing of the darkness and light.
When she first started out she felt that she was out of shape and unconditioned. Nevertheless, she practiced a bit before her first tryout and she made it on the J.V team. After she made it, she practiced six days a
We landed our axel and a new jump consistently, and a bliss came over us. Joy filled our bones and we finally felt free from the weight that was once upon us; however, two or so weeks later we lost both jumps and thus the longing to try again. We could feel the disappointment growing in our parents’ and coach’s faces. Heaviness grew upon us every time we stepped a foot into that ice rink, it was time to move on.
Pidge loved to preform. But one thing she loved more than that was the ability to dance. Lucky for her, she was good at it, but, to some people, she wasn't good enough. In most championships, she came in fourth, at the highest. Her dream? Come in first at at least one competition, and to have her idols recognize her as a dancer. Her Idols.... Keith Kogane, Lance McClain, and Takashi Shirogane. They each inspired her to take that huge leap into the amazing realm of dance, and, she found, that she had fallen in love. When Pidge wasn't competing in competitions, she would either be working at her local Starbucks, or doing street dance with a few kids from the neighborhood. Some who were interested in dance would often ask for inspiration or some
Most of friends know or should know I don’t consider myself a nigga. If you understand the word nigga, you would see how this free forming word holds deep meaning in our African history, culture, and roots. Nigga is now a slang word used by the niggas of the ghetto culture as a greeting between friends. However, I beg to differ. Just because the usage of the word is different it doesn’t take away from the symbolical meaning of “less than a man” and the merfoicoical planning of white supremacy on African in America.
Do names really define a human being? I believe a person should be original, however that does not mean having a unique name. In my opinion, names are useful to acknowledge a person not label them. The above quote by William Shakespeare is symbolic to my beliefs. The poem’s meaning is a rose smells as sweet even if it was called any other name. That is conclusive to my thoughts because the rose is sweet from being a flower not because of it’s name. Your name doesn’t characterize you, but you personalize your name to fit your traits.
