While the declaration of independence itself may not be applicable today I believe that the essence of the Declaration of Independence is applicable today. Why is the great document applicable today? The essence of this document is applicable today because it sets forth the concept of human equality, the reason for governments existence and why a government should be replaced.

Every human is to be treated with consideration respect and dignity. Regardless of one's race, creed, religion, or gender. In our humanity we are told in worth, one contribution may be of greater benefit to society than another human, but that does not increase one's human worth.

After the war with Britain, the United States sought out a structure giving the citizens of America their own rights.
