For the collaboration portion of my project I chose to collaborate with the daycare director and 10 parents of the children who attend the daycare. The role of the director was to inform me and help me to better understand how their policies work and how they respond to policy change. The parent’s role in this collaboration process included giving me feedback and ideas on what changes they would like to see and what they already like about the current policy. In order to obtain the information I needed for this project, I met with the director and parents of the children on many different occasions to observe and interview the parents and staff members. Also when meeting with the director and parents we discussed my observations and ideas that
The community experience that I will be focusing on for this part is NWCC daycare. The age range of the children at NWCC Daycare are 13 months to 5 years old. The two Piaget stages of development that were present in most of the children at the daycare are sensorimotor and preoperational. The three Erikson’s stages of development that were present in the children at the daycare are trust vs. mistrust, autonomy vs. shame and doubt, and initiative vs. guilt.
My program is geared toward preschool aged children, typically 3-6 years old. We believe we can provide safe, secure, affordable, quality care for our families. We also strive to create a positive atmosphere so the chilidren can interact with their peers, teachers and families. All children in attendance have the right to a wholesome, healthy and happy educational experience. We see to it that everyone is treated equally regardless of their ethnic and religious backgrounds.
The three programs I chose to analyze were the transportation program, the Day Away program, and the Stepping on program.
When childcare settings and anyone involved in working with children and young people come together and work in partnership with one another, the outcome can only be a positive one for both the children and young people and those providing a duty of care to a child. Working in partnership with others is important for children and young people so outcomes can be improved for children and their families through a wider range of access of different service providers and there will be more efficiency in delivering these services whilst benefiting all involved.
Through interviewing Joyce I gained insight into a strong philosophy, leadership style, and how her background experiences have created the director she is today. When deciding to become a director of a daycare, there are two options: opening and owning your own center or directing an established or corporate owned daycare. While I have done much research on owning my own daycare, I have little experience about what it would be like to be the director of an established center. Financial responsibilities and budgeting are also two aspects that are important, but the level of responsibility is drastically different in each scenario. Lastly, legal and ethical responsibilities exist in either scenario as well.
It is important to work in partnership with parents o carers so as to get the best outcomes
The main key stakeholder for this situation would be the children as we are impacting their lives the most. This could cause strain on their families at home since they contribute to the household income and could change their potential education. All in all, these children will have their childhood diminished if they continue to be forced in the workforce, with no chance for proper
When working with other partnerships with in the setting you need to make sure that the planning for the children is correct for their age and for their development also the organisation for the children leaning need to be planed for each individual child.
The cost of child care in the United States is skyrocketing. The Economic Policy Institute even found that, in 23 states, full-time care for a 4-year-old cost more than in-state tuition at a public college!
Have you ever not wanted to get up to take your child to daycare? One would wanna open a daycare because they love children especially babies. One love’s taking care of them, loves seeing them laugh, fall over, playing, and explore. The career of opening a daycare is a enormous job ,due to the requirements, and the study of children at different stages. This research will describe the career of a daycare center, what is required to become a successful daycare teacher and the impact this career has on society
The Kids Learning Centre is a privately-owned day care facility and non-formal educational institution for children up to 12 years old. It is located at the heart of the City of Downtown, just behind The Business Building, a convenient place where parents and guardians can drop off their children safely. It operates from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM daily, and closes only during major holidays.
In the book Early Childhood Education Today 11th Edition, we read that “Family-centered practice is one of the cornerstone features of early childhood special education. This follows the fundamental notion that children’s development is influenced by their environment: their family, teachers, school, town, media, governmental systems, and so on.” (MORRISON, 2009) The first thing we as teachers must do is acknowledge that the children’s families are the first and most important teachers of their children and recognize the long-term effect families have on the attitudes and accomplishments of their children . For the edification of today’s youth there are potential positive responses to be obtained through working with a child’s parents as
While there are some caregiver’s that are only in the human service field to earn a paycheck and with the lack of parental involvement in their child’s life, it can make a caregiver’s job more challenging. Daycare centers serve as a stepping stone for a child’s future that will teach them how to establish appropriate skills and aid in the development of their cognitive abilities. Positive child interactions not only aid in the development of social and cognitive development, but also in the child’s self-esteem and it lets them know they are important and loved.
The place I decided to observe at was Watermark Community Church, where I work during the week at there weekly children's ministry care. The atmosphere they create is like that of a camp, instead of a typical daycare. The staff spend numerous amounts of time to create curriculum for the kids. The curriculum includes a bible story, a craft that goes along with the story, music/video time, coloring pages that continue on with the theme and of course games and recreational time. I enjoyed being able to just sit and observe some of the kids that I am usually teaching during the weeks. Getting to think through some of the questions and see what developmental features I had noticed before or which ones were new to me.
Huston Community College is a higher education institution that provides learning opportunities to different communities which include Texas, Missouri city and Stanford. The communities around the colleges provide services to the college as they work in institution and some study there. Parents comprise a large portion of these communities and helping them manage some of their responsibilities which include taking care of their children while they at work or studying will go a long way in improving their performance. The purpose of this paper is to propose the
