Daybreak. The most beautiful sight to behold. The promise of everlasting progress of the lives that all dwell on the land we step upon. It is during times like these when I reflect on my own path of enlightenment and realise the needless behaviour of conflict and the wasting away of lives. Peace is a word so treasured, and yet so ignored by many.
I pace quietly around the blossoms that have been here for so long. For I know that the Earth is in a terrible danger.
A great beast has manifested from the sins of mankind. Its soul devours them, and grows to mightier and mightier sizes, and unleashes them upon man as raging fire. Only the peace of th-
"ARGH!"
I turn around and notice a presence appearing from the rocky crevices that lead to the garden. Surely, this must be the hero that legend spoke of. A man of great strength and willpower, one with the fighting force of a thous-

I expected at LEAST a mystical staircase, or a ladder..." The hero's speech went on and on, as he shook stones from his boot. He was of great height and muscle, and had the finest armor plating his every joint. His long, red hair was coated with dirt and grime, and his sword was completely stained with a dark red colour.
He was very visibly tired, so I greeted him with a customary bow.
"Welcome, dear hero. I have long awaited your ar-"
"Alright, gramps. I don't have all day," he began. "My city is literally burning to the ground and all I've been doing are these weird arbitrary tasks. I fought off your guardians, solved your puzzles, met this crazy guy with an eyepa-"
I cupped his mouth with my palm. Only silence would speak for this man. I cleared my throat.
"I understand, young warrior. This journey has been one of great peril and tragedy, but you must take heart," I
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that very imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
. The video “To this day” by Shane Koyczan, based on the poem by the same name, is a little boy with an unfortunate nickname of porkchop that led to bullying throughout his life. They have Koyczan the nickname porkchop when they heard his story that he used to call porkchops karate chops. Koyczan wrote the poem because he is noting how people get bullied and that he also got bullied also that bullying is still going on. What he also explains in his poem is that kids can break and nobody hears how nobody cares or knows.
"A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow men."
In everyone’s life, we experience fear. It is an emotion which seizes everyone’s attention and actions. It can cause a person to perform something they never imagined doing. Yet, after constant submission to the same feeling of fear, one becomes desensitized to it. The same chemical reactions in someone's head which caused their heart to race and mind to blank no longer has those same effects. It leads a person to wonder how they can survive past this dreadful feeling. Yet, there are people who stand in the face of fear and experience these feelings so no one else has to, heros. One of the main traits of a hero is standing resilient in the face of fear and the adversity which accompanies it.
All Souls’ Morning by Eamon Grennan is poem that explores the way of life and how the way things are in life. The poem isn’t supposed to be a sad poem, telling us about how life is quite meaningless, rather it is supposed to be an acceptance of the way life is for humanity. The poem uses the daily practices of life, recollection of past events, relationships developed as a human being and the circular motion of life to explore the way and the meaning of life in this poem.
While walking nearly to the edge of the village I noticed something extraordinary, there was an astonishing man. He turned to face me, and started walking towards me. The man had some dissimilar characteristics. I felt as if I was going to be in jeopardy, I could not
To begin, Linda Seger’s article demonstrates how the idea of a hero is universal and is defined by their journey, which is incorrect because other cultures might define a hero as something else. In her article, she tries using ten stages of how a hero is sometimes just an ordinary person. Who then takes in order
such a terrifying beast?” and “Who is God who dares to make such a terrifying
It’s 3 A.M. And I’m very aware of the fact That the only people who are awake at this hour Are either drunk, lonely, in love, Or all three. I fall into the last category; The pieces of the broken bottle And the pieces of my broken heart Are mixed together, Scattered on the sidewalk But I’m not too worried about where I step right now. I’m walking the city and the lights are so bright
This is the story of the most amazing hero I have ever known. We met on a midsummer’s day, the kind brimming with anticipation and possibilities. The first time, I saw her, I never assumed she would ever be anything close to a titan. She looked slight as a reed and as if she would fall down in a gust of wind. But inside her tiny frame, there was a huge heart full of courage and bravery.
“Dad told me not to judge combat veterans. Until I experienced combat, I couldn’t understand the emotions that come from battle.”
Reflection on pg. 34 Night poem by Elie Wiesel In my eyes, this poem is a very powerful work, full of poetic devices that help drive home the point of the poem. This poem is written by Elie after he and his father realize that they have survived selection at Birkenau.
"What is man without the beast? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are interconnected. Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons of the earth...If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves...Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself." (Perry, 1971)
Let it not be forgotten then at the outset of our discussion on God and evil, that the rampant lawlessness and many faces of evil that we see around us is not just the mere issue of man’s doings. It is according to Saint Paul, none other than Satan’s operation (v. 9a) in all power and signs and wonders of a lie, and in all deceit of unrighteousness (vv. 9b, 10). The modern mind with its scientific enlightenment, and anti-supernatural outlook, easily askew the personification of evil. But the clear testimony of scripture is that evil is not just a “thing”, a mere act of wrongdoing or transgression.
Marco gave a small sigh, pushing down the bits of resentment he felt. "We 're in this situation together," he said, looking back with a kindly smile, "we 'll get through it just like everything else." His mind wandered to Ludo 's castle, "besides, we 've definitely been through worse." He straightens his gaze, "any how, it 's a long walk to Bulwark."
