I think, cursive should stay in school. Kids need it to sigh things for work or checks and even to buy things! Cursive was used way back in the day, which was all that was used. Handwriting is 50% of writing skills. Though it takes time from more relevant things it would help them out in further life. It’s hard to learn, most people forget it during their life people use it all over the world and if we were to stop teaching it kids and teens would not be able to read older people handwriting. Sure, the desire to write faster has driven innovations throughout history: Ballpoint pens replaced quill pens; typewriters improved on pens; and computers go faster than typewriters. Today, we Skype, email, and text instead of writing letters. College students take notes on laptops rather than on paper. Tourists post selfies from the Grand Canyon instead of mailing postcards. Lastly, the 41 states that don’t need to learn cursive should bring it back they all need to learn in the 6th grade it is hard you’re English will most likely write in cursive. The 15 states that do still do cursive the kids should be great hand writes tall though it might take some time to learn I think it is worth the wait of how it looks. I am in one of the 41 states that don’t require cursive but it needs to come back. In conclusion, cursive does not need to leave it needs to stay. We need it to sigh things for checks or for work. When cursive was used way back in the day people had to learn it or they would not pass. Cursive takes time and takes time from more things to do. It would help them in the long run. Cursive was used to push people to write when they couldn’t do it. And that is way I think cursive should stay in schools today. There for, you should try to learn and keep cursive alive.
