Mexico and the US are neighbors on the North American continent. Mexico has been established since 1824, while the US has been established since 1776. Each of these countries have very different pasts, presents, and even futures- with the way they are taken care of and handled politically, economically, and even through their different societies. The US has even influenced some of Mexico's culture and practices, and also the other way around. Since these countries are right next to each other, we tend to have a cross-culture near the borders of US and Mexico. With that said, the history the US has in comparison to the history of Mexico- they have very similar trials and achievements in some areas. In the 1760’s Spain had ventured out on a …show more content…
The overall culture I see, is one of confidence, equality, and the pursue of maintaining a comfortable environment fro everyone. The US has many different religions, practices, and people. The people make the US culture acceptable to many. The US is also very fast paced, and outgoing with many events, concerts, and reconstruction of technology and events. Mexico, is very much so based off of family, rather than entertainment like the US is. Mexico does;t move as fast as the US, and actually is culturally expected to be late to most events. Mexico makes a lot of home cooked meals, doesn't go out to eat as much as Americans, and also is much more :modest: in their beliefs. The dominant religion is Roman Catholic in Mexico. And the country is more from actual Mexican/Spanish decent rather than a mixed pot like the US is. My culture influences my response to these cultures because I come from a very “American” household. However, I live in the midwest where we farm large portions of crops such as corn, soy beans, wheat, and cattle. I understand hard work, determination, technology, and family. I feel like my culture is these cultures I just described- combined. I understand taking your time to be diligent and relaxed, as well as the “American hustle” and getting things done on time, and as efficient as possible! These new understandings I have developed has made me realize that I need to find more balance and consideration when I am in different parts of our world. I will interact with Americans and Mexicans with grace, patience, and more understanding of their background. I will specifically be more patient when I am working with someone from Mexico or Mexican descent, because I am more of a fast past person- America has developed that instinct in me! My final thought, is that even though cultures are different foreman another we can always strive to understand each other and make a mutual relationship that
These traditions include Day of the Dead and Cinco de Mayo. There is a smaller portion of Americans more towards the Mexican border that celebrate Day of the Dead, but I feel as if within the next several decades, many more people will share and adapt this holiday into their own. We both have the traditions to celebrate our independence day with fireworks and parades, birthday parties with piñatas (which originated from Mexico), and our Mardi Gras is their Carnaval. When it comes to Christmas, we only celebrate for two days while Mexico starts their celebrations December 12th with Posados and ends on January 6th. The children there open their presents they receive on the 6th and christmas trees are starting to become more popular in
Although culturally Mexico closely identifies with Central and South American countries, however, it is situated in North America.
Mexican culture is very family centered not only to their nuclear family but also to extended family. In fact, many households have extended family living under one roof. Elderly are very valued and are looked upon to for wisdom. They tend to keep family matters in the family, not to outsiders, so they tend to have a very open communication with each

The criminal and civil laws between the united states and mexico very in many areas; this forces the differences and similarities in the way the court systems function.
The United States of America and Mexico compare and contrast their differences when it comes to education, homeless rates, and their overall standard of living. The U.S and Mexico compare when it comes to homeless rates seeing as the numbers are increasing each year. As for education, Mexico lacks standard education, where as the United States has a higher standard for education. The overall standard of living in both countries is probably the biggest difference the two countries have. Mexico has many prosperous areas to it, but for the most part people who live in Mexico, live poor and on the streets. Children in Mexico usually have to get street jobs in order to help their families with poverty. The United States has its own level of

Mexico and the United States are countries that have several aspects to relate and compare the differences that exist between them. Each country has its own characteristics, and is a way of being able to identify to other countries. In this case, Mexico and United States are independent parents with an extensive history where we can know aspects of each one of them. Mexico is characterized by being a country of religious traditions and U.S. for being the first world power. Mexican culture dates far back as the 13th century. This is when the Aztecs were prevalent in northern mexico. Aztecs were a people who were all about war and honor. They made many enemies going to war with smaller tribes and brutally killed their enemies. In the 16th century the Aztecs Empire crumbled due to the invasion led by Hernan Cortez. Disease, superior weapons, and aid of the Aztec’s enemies were all contributing factors to the Aztecs downfall. Fast forward September 16th 1810 when Mexico gained its independence from Spain Mexico's identity started to develop. Mexican culture is defined by many things, its food, its language, its clothing, its art. However, There is one aspect that defines Mexican culture and that is family life. Mexicans have a very rich family life that defines the culture. The way that family is organized and the way each member acts can be traced back to the very beginning. It's a mixture of the indigenous peoples culture as well as the Spaniards culture. The indigenous peoples pass on their ideas of honor and machismo and the Spaniards pass on their ideas of catholicism, and family value and structure. I fit into this because I grew up on these ideas and my family still practices some of these ideas today.
They are traditionally middle to lower class people who don’t receive as many opportunities as the Anglos such as good educations or even a job position. Although stereotypes are sometimes insulting and do not apply to the entire race, there is always a degree of truth in them. Mexicans are commonly known to be resourceful and hold a bit more value in things than Americans commonly do. Also, Mexicans are traditionally more family-orientated and the men are raised to be able to maintain his woman. While this is common throughout many families, I see it more dominant in Mexican families. Apart from these differences from an American family, food seems to be the only thing that truly separates the two, but there is always a reason for one to disagree with the other. Racism is a real and serious thing, especially in the American Southwest. Some Americans really don’t agree with and dislike the customs of Mexicans because it is different from their own, and vice versa and this has caused many problems between the
Many Mexican people have preserved and still do many of their ancestors’ traditions. Tradition plays a big role in my family for example: the food we eat, the music we listen to, what we dance to and what we celebrate to. I wanted a sweet sixteen but of course being Mexican my parents said no. Being in the Mexican culture tradition is that when you turn 15 you’re supposed to have a Quinceanera it symbolizes that you are no longer a kid but you are now a young women. Many people think a Quinceanera is just a party but the real tradition is to have a church mass. Since I am catholic that consists of me going to church and thanking God.
Mexico is the 14th largest county in the world. The Mexicans speak the Spanish language. Much of Mexican culture revolves around religious values and the church. 95% of Mexicans are of the Catholic faith.
The culture of Mexico reflects the country’s complex history and is the result of the gradual blending of native culture with Spanish culture and other immigrant cultures. Mexico’s culture revolves around and is most prominent in music, food, and celebrations. The combination of beliefs and customs creates the unique Mexican culture.
The Indigenous culture is not simply a blend of Mexico used to be, but the results of a unique historical process that developed with an originality all its own. This culture was divided into many different social classes after the Spanish took the reins. Like they started to develop a governmental system for the Indigenous people and they started to tax them with the Bourbon Reforms. Many Indigenous people hated the thought of this so they took matters in to their own
The Mexican culture is a mixture of Spanish and Aztec roots dating back to the 19th and 20th century when Spain had rule over Mexico. Their rich heritage and inhabitance formed their culture today with pride and unbreakable traditions. Back before the Spanish had power over Mexico, it was first occupied with an enormous number of Indian groups that varied in social as well as economic systems. Mexico was shared with the Mayans, Totonac, Huastec, Otomi, Mixtecs, Zapotecas, and Tlaxcala’s, Tarascans, and Aztec tribes. Before the Spanish arrived, the Aztec tribe ruled most of Mexico. They built most of what is known as Mexico City due to a tribe prophecy that demanded the city to be established where there was an eagle with a snake in its beak resting on a cactus. That became a national symbol of Mexico and embellishes on the country’s flag
