During my high school career I did not get many opportunities to further my understanding of technology as my school was focusing more sports orientated. But this did not stop me from pursuing my hobbies as I later became a part the unofficial IT administration, working with the head of technology and networking for my school. My job was more of less setup and maintaining WiFi access points in the dormitories and the school or maintaining the computers for the library. On my off time also helped a number of my classmates build their own computers and keep them up-to-date.
I have been studying computer mechanics as a hobby for the past 7 years and building PC for 4 years. I also have a thing in tearing down broken objects. Whether it is a broken spray bottle to printers I am always curious in how things work. If I had the income I would literally buy new items just to break them open to see how they worked on the inside. It started as a simple way of getting away from boredom, but twelve years later I am setting up computers from my high school, maintaining the wifi in

Starting out just testing the water, Cross Country and Tennis as has a profound effect on my life. Cross Country has taught me that getting first place is not as important as the effort put into the race. Not all races can be won but giving it your best is a reward itself. Tennis was not as simple of a sport that expected it to be at all. From hitting the ball to weather tennis was an incredibly complex sport. I found it fascinating that changing the angle of the tennis racquet from 30 degrees would be a difference of almost half the court. Also power was never a key factor of any competition. It was all about strategy and consistency. During my junior year we were runner-up the Ohio Valley Cross Country League and during my senior year won Ohio Valley Athletic Conference in
During the summer of my tenth grade year, I interned at Accenture, a consulting firm, where I repaired computers and resolved any software issues. At first I started opening and and exploring parts of retired dell laptops. As I became more proficient, I was able to help clients fix PC issues such as broken screens, replacing RAM, and transferring data from the hard drives to another computer. This internship inspired me to consider the Technology industry as a possible career. Taking into consideration the broad range of possible career paths in technology, I decided to major in Computer Science once I get to college.
Blistering heat, rushing adrenaline, and a lost voice are all ways to describe one example of a leadership experience that I had was during my junior year at my second CBL Cross Country race. I remember that at this time, instead of putting in our top seven runners at this varsity race, we actually instead put in our number eight through 14 runners on the team due to our coach playing a gamble and seeing if we could still possibly win the League Championship while sitting out our top racers.
Through athletics I have grown closer to my classmates and coaches. We have won two City-Counties and hoping to win two more. Incorporated in the competitive nature I have also learned more about the virtues and how we use them in our everyday life. I also was taught that God gave me all my talents and abilities. Praying before all of our games we would pray and I know that God was watching over us helping both teams
All my experiences taught me many valuable lessons that I will carry on with me for the rest of my life. My passion for sports grew from the day I could walk, which started when
In high school, I enrolled in the Information Technology program where I learned to use, build, maintain, and troubleshoot computers. At the end of my junior year, I took and passed the CompTIA A+ certification exams becoming a certified computer technician. Six months later, I passed the CompTIA Network+ certification exam validating my knowledge in network.
Growing up my whole life, I played every sport imaginable from hockey and soccer to football and tennis. My parents made me start being active and playing sports at a very young age and it was one of the best decisions that they could have made. Sports have so many benefits and teach so many life lessons besides simply the physical and competitive aspects to the game. When I first started playing sports, I absolutely dreaded every aspect of it, from waking up early, to working out, to being sore and tired all of the time. But as I grew older and started to understand life better, I started thinking about my future and the keys to being successful in life. I realized that sports teach so many life lessons beyond the
Over the last two years of my High School education, I found the extracurricular activities I fit in the most. I am part of Student Council, National Honor Society and a member of the tennis team. They all have molded me to be the best. However, I feel like tennis has impacted me the most. It’s a sport that has taught me so much, from being physically fit, to mentally prepared for any outcome. I learned that a game it’s not about winning or losing, but about how it’s played, and what it took to get there. Being in a team is about contributing others, and learning from them. It’s about accepting that we all make mistakes, and only practice can reduce the times we make them. So many loses and few victories, but I always preferred to sheer my
Sports have had a huge impact on my life. Ever since eighth grade I've always been involved in some type of sport whether it was track and field ,bowling ,or football.
Like the invention of the slinky, my story is kind of an accident. I never thought about running as a sport, or that it could be an alternative to soccer, which I had been playing my whole life. It really was an accident that I overheard my mom talking to her friends on the phone about the local race. Sometimes, however, accidents can be good things that become great things, and this was one of those times; I just haven’t realized that until now. Running cross-country is special to me because of the liberation it provided and the greatest friendships that made a huge difference in my life.
November 12, 2016 remains a day that will always live in my memory. On that day, I laced up my racing spikes one last time as the Hanover College men’s cross-country team competed at the Great Lakes Regional Meet in Holland, Michigan. Cross-country revealed to me the positive qualities that I possess that would allow me to succeed in my future career within the field of law.
Cross country derives more than just running as fast as an individual can; there is a direct correlation of three different skills to make successful runners: hills, arm swing, and foot strike.
In the middle school awkward stages of my life, I was trying to figure out who I was or who I wanted to be. Every day I went to volleyball, swimming, track, basketball, and cheerleading practices but didn’t actually appreciate my life. School years would go by and I was still the same person just associating with people. Life was sad and pathetic.
Sports taught me the qualities that help reflect in the classroom, in my team, and in the community. These resulted in my success throughout the academic year, in my team, and also in the community as well. I have accomplished a lot and plan to do more in the
Ever since I was a young boy I have been intrigued by the mechanics within different objects. For me, it was always more interesting how something worked and how it could be improved rather than what it actually did. Although this trait was prominent my whole life, it only actually became a significant part of me when I was about 11 or 12 and began opening up and modifying nerf guns to increase their performance. While it started as me just learning from and following the ideas of different youtubers, I quickly began inventing my own modifications and Implementing my love for mechanics to ultimately create my own foam dart guns. Although this hobby lasted me many years I ultimately gave it up to focus more on woodworking, because it allowed me more freedom and variety in what I could create mechanics for. Additionally my dad makes guitars as a hobby and I knew that he could teach me the art of finishing and how to make my inventions more
Throughout the year, I have learned so much about the tech world. Every piece of information has helped me realize that there is more to technology than just games and schoolwork. You can use technology for almost everything you do today. All of the information that I have retained this year has come from a website called ucertify.com. It is a website that has ten chapters. Each of them have a different focus with different topics. It also has cards and a quiz to take after you have read the information to see how well you understand the material.
