I feel that this statement is accurate. I think that we listen with the intent to reply because most people nod or say that they understand what the person is saying to move on to other things. We have become a very fast-paced culture, and we do not take the time to try to understand what other people are saying. You can see this evident in how many divorces happen because of a breakdown of communication and in our politics with how the two sides of Democrat and Republican can't agree.

Ilyse makes an emotional appeal when she says about politicians making decisions for women and families, "America thrives when no one is allowed to impose their personal morality on others. It's what separates us from so many countries around the world where woman is not free."

A particular fallacy that Ilyse uses includes personal attack. She uses personal attack when she mentions that she looked up the word obsessive in the dictionary and it fits perfectly with the anti-choice movement. What she says fits with personal attack fallacy because she is verbally assaulting her opponent's position by calling them compulsive and unreasonable.
