Throughout one’s lifetime, they will experience setbacks and obstacles, as well as some pivotal moments. In the process, they develop deep-rooted values and opinions which will overall create their personality traits. What I find interesting is the mind sharpens itself through culturalistic ideals and rituals a given society may deem relevant to them. Psychology is what lets me figure out the answers to the questions developed from my burning curiosities. Generally speaking, how we interpret the information is what shapes our worldview. Attending Lynn University as a graduate would allow me to mold my optical senses and offer me a sharp vision consisting of determination and focus.

When we meet others who may be able to perform a simple task seemingly well, we feel threatened, and act through envy, hurting others in the process. Most importantly, we end up hurting ourselves, for trying to aim for perfection when it doesn’t exist. As I grew up, my aspirations of being the perfect student were met with unsatisfactory results. At one point, if I were to mess up for any reason, I felt there’d been no need to continue as I felt that I’d failed myself. However, the road to perfection became a narrow path to failure. Over time, I realized that it’s perfectly okay to make mistakes; that we have the ability to learn from them and take those lessons and apply them in the future. As I began to let go of any frustrations regarding not achieving as much as all of the others, I came to the conclusion that the only competition worth having is with myself. Learning to use my past self as a reason to become a better person. I aspire to attend Lynn University as a graduate student looking to further my knowledge and feed my many curiosities on the human mind and learn from how culture and context can bring about the set personalities of others and shape their

The brain is considered the most complex organ in the body. It is responsible for controlling motor function, the body’s ability to balance and the ability to translate information sent to the brain by sensory organs. The mind is described as the faculty of consciousness and thought. It’s where our feeling and emotions originate from and defines who we are as a person. The brain is composed of the visual cortex, which is responsible for processing visual information. In blind individuals the feature that makes up visions still exists in the visual cortex. These features are now used to process information received from the other senses. However, blind individuals are able to view the images because what’s in their mind.
1: People throughout the world are able to respond differently because everyone has a unique perspective at what is visually seen. The art one person can notice may not be art to another. Sometimes are brain plays a grand role when one has a certain perception towards an image. Also based on human characteristics, some people are judgmental of certain pictures because of life events such as religion, culture, or even family.

The following major crime offender characteristics, age, sex, race, and social class, can greatly influence criminals in their own different ways. However, the most the characteristic that can have a bigger impact in some cases is social class. Out of the four characteristics listed, this is the only one that can be changed. The age, sex or race of a person cannot be changed while social class is in fact changeable. A person can change either legally or illegally their social class. If a person is raised in poverty or the lower class of society, regardless of of their sex or race, they desire to have nicer things and live a better life. Teaching higher order thinking skills is not a recent need. It is apparent that students, at all levels of education, are lagging in problem-solving and thinking skills. Fragmentation of thinking skills, however, may be the result of critical thinking courses and texts. Every course, especially in content subjects, students should be taught to think logically, analyze and compare, question and evaluate.

In the beginning of November one of my best friends Cheyann turned 18, she was super excited about her birthday because she was going to have all her friends around her including her younger sister, her two other girl best friend and myself. She made plans for her birthday to be downtown as more of a “girls night out” fancy dinner celebration. She asked me to drive us downtown to the mall, so after grabbing a parking ticket we drove around and around the cold, concrete parking garage to about the 3rd or 4th level. As I got out of the car I noticed that there were only a few cars around us in the dim lit garage, it was around 6pm so it was already dark and freezing cold outside. All us girls started walking towards the doors that led to the elevators laughing and talking loudly in our heels and short, fancy dresses when Cheyann stopped dead in her tracks and froze up.

The concepts of critical thinking and creative thinking are both gaining increasing importance in the world today. Critical thinking allows people to understand difficult concepts in a manner that is clearer and more defined. They can more readily understand those concepts if they employ critical thinking. In all portions of everyday life, a person is expected to make independent judgments. Those judgments are based on experience and knowledge. Without the ability to think critically, every situation that a person comes across would have to be considered in isolation from all other situations. When a person encounters a problem that is a new one, he or she may be able to use critical thinking to solve those problems.
Knowledge is generated through critical and creative thinking. Creative thinking is something new or original that is created with value. Critical thinking is a type of thinking that questions assumptions and validates or invalidates a current belief or something that is said to be previously true. Knowledge is created through the culmination of generally accepted assumptions and creativity. How do you separate general assumptions and creativity? These two types of thinking can be easily separated in regards to concrete or realistic ideas compared to abstract or original ideas however to generate new, acceptable knowledge critical and creative thinking must interact together. The questioning of established beliefs with the creation of
