The final role play assessment was used to test the knowledge and skills that were learnt and attained throughout the curriculum which was followed by personal critical reflection on the interview. According to Payne (1998), critical reflection is the core of social work, as it enhances one’s development and improves practice which ultimately lead to improved outcomes for clients (Askeland & Fook, 2009). In this paper I will identify the skills, strengths, values, views and the language that I conveyed in the final role play assessment as well as what I would have done differently. I will also provide an analysis and an evaluation of the skills that I conveyed in the interview. When reviewing the video of the interview, I felt that my paralinguistics, including my tone, the speed and the volume was …show more content…
With the given case scenario, my views and values about parental control and safety on the internet could have affected how I approached this scenario. Family is very important to me, and I have two younger sisters who constantly are using the internet on their devices in their rooms. I am aware that technology is advancing and the internet is becoming a major platform in meeting new people and has always been a platform in communicating which is not without exception to cyberbullies and predators. So when the ‘client’ was discussing about her daughter being on these websites which she felt was inappropriate, I did feel that I did have to hold back on recommending parenting controls, and navigating what her child goes on, on the internet. I did not however take this approach because problem solving or posing my views on what she should be doing as a parent was not my role in the first initial session, my role was to explore her worries and concerns without bringing my views and values into the

As a Therapeutic Staff Support, I communicate with my clients and their families daily. I had the opportunity to sit down on an evaluation with one of my clients. I am comfortable talking with my clients, but I did convey some nervousness in the video. This role play has taught me more about myself. There have been some challenges in planning and executing this role play. My role play displayed the initial interaction between a concerned mother and the social worker. In an initial meeting with behavioral health services, it is important for the client to be there. However, I did not have another person to play the part of Sophia, so I made due with just the mother and social worker. Overall, I feel that this
Critical reflection is a very important concept that is growing as an emerging intervention within social work. Unfortunately, with new emerging concepts comes the debate of its effectiveness and validity within the social work profession. For example, evidence-based practice emerged into the social work profession over to decades ago and is one of the prevailing social work paradigms that is still being considered an intervention that needs to be fully incorporated into practice. However, when comparing the two interventions, there are many similarities and differences that should be known within the social work profession.
How should the institutions be set up when organizing a new government in a country with several religious factions? I would set up a constitutional democracy with a three-tier system much like our own. The differences would be a judiciary would be independent and elected in a general election much like the states do it. The highest court would be the Constitutional court that would hear only cases pertaining to the Constitution; whereas the Supreme Court would be the highest court of appeal for any cases not pertaining to the constitution. This would lighten the load and burden of our highest courts from having to take on the burden of so many different court cases, or quick appeals when it comes to the death penalty.
Considering the focus students both made progress, I do believe the differentiation plan was effective. Focus Student 2 made progress and met the learning goal. She increased her score by 20% completing the assessment with 80% accuracy. Teaching the student an additional strategy to confirm the correct response forced her to slow down to complete each problem. Focus Student 1 also made progress and met the learning goal with the differentiation plan in place. She increased her score by 20%. Completing the assessment on a white board reduced anxiety in the student. While the data did not necessarily show an incredible increase in accuracy, the student visibly looked more relaxed completing the assessment. Given the baseline assessment, I could

Having the ability to watch myself talk and counsel, completely changed my outlook on how I present myself. I saw myself as anxious, quick-witted, fidgety, and persistent. I could see how stressed I was, and so far, from calm, reserved, and collected. Since then, I have been working on speaking slower and being a bit more relaxed in general. Working on those skills in my daily life played a major impact on the improvements displayed during the second interview.
For four long years I felt as if my high school was in a different world in of itself. I had spent that time interacting with an extensive amount of groups, or “cliques”, and getting to know what they do. Through my experiences, I had begun to realize what made this “subculture” high school of sorts run like it did. High school is an incredibly dynamic time for people, and I had changed as a person dramatically from my freshman to senior year. Like many, my freshman year was quite awkward, as remnants of my middle school self remained with me. As time went on, how, I talked to more people and grew out of my passive and shy personality. This did not just randomly happen without reason though. I began to learn and realize who I was and whom I enjoyed talking to in school, which explained why I spent so much time socializing with multiple kinds and groups of people. Everyone’s concept of “normal” was different, and high school was where I learned that lesson and will never forget.
This paper is a work of self-examination to find out what influenced my development from birth to this my 56th year. I will delve into my past and try to honestly and without judgment describe what events and actions led me to become the person I am today. I will look at the way in which the culture and family I grew up in build the frame-work of the person I have evolved into.
For my role play my meeting was with a client who had two young girls at home and recently lost her husband a month ago. The client had financial problems and also was trying to deal with her grief. I think my role play worked so well because my partner was really good with being the client. The three micro skills I demonstrated during my role play was enlisting cooperation, self-disclosing, and information giving. My first micro skills was enlisting cooperation, and it could have been better.
Every fourth-year teacher trainees will have to conduct practicum and will work under the guideline of their associate teachers and supervisors. The purpose of doing the practicum are to put training into practice, to become accustomed to teaching in the tertiary school settings, and to develop and expand each trainee’s teaching expertise and confidence. In the following paragraph, I will express what I have learnt from doing practicum to reflect on my past teaching strengths and weaknesses from the teaching practicum.
My friends and I were speaking on our past relationships from high school and earlier semesters. Reflecting on those times, a lot of effort and devotion went into making golden moments with someone I care about, and it’s a shame that things didn’t work out. Although I have graduated high-school a mere two years ago, I ponder why I stay up late nights thinking about those moments, grateful that I had the chance to experience something so wonderful. Yes, love can be an amazing thing; laughter, comfort, and friendships are all products of love I deeply care for. Despite this, it can be our strongest obstacle when trying to find happiness.
Could you imagine a world where everyone was the exact same? “The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way” (Vonnegut, 38). The 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments have been passed, and everyone is officially equal. Everyone is absolutely average and we all have similar lives. It is quite boring if you ask me. I am sure if you had the same old routine every day, you would get sick of it too. There isn’t any diversity and I can’t do anything about it or else it is “two years in prison and two thousand dollars fine”(Vonnegut, 40).
