While losing my son’s father pushed me away from the field, it has also brought me back. He passed away a week after his 21st birthday and the two individuals charged were not yet 20 years old. I would love to become an advocate for the youth and help juveniles that are caught in the system to find a way out and not resort back to violence and crime. I am at a great point in my life to pursue this degree. I am currently employed during the day with set hours and I will have a significant amount of free time to maintain my studies. In addition, I have a very supportive group of people that are willing to help me with my son and keeping me on the right track. Receiving my degree at Saint Joseph University will not only open doors for me to become successful in a field that I am so passionate about, it will also give me an opportunity to save the lives
