My Career Choice of being apart of the Field When I was a kid I always loved the rush and adrenaline from doing something that counted on me to make the best decision. This is one of the reasons I would like to go into the Criminal Justice field. I’ve been watching shows like Criminal Minds, Lie to Me, Flash Point and many more. My mom is in that field so I ask her questions to see what it takes to be a part of it. The skills I have in this field is that I am dedicated and can get physically fit to the point I will do good for that job. The tools I have for this is that I already know quite a few about this field and can learn more to be the best. The work environment I like is a friendly work zone and clean place to be. …show more content…
I would want a career that is not repetitive and which deals with something different every day. After I find the answers to my questions, it makes my path easier to become a worker in the Criminal Justice field such as a secret service agent. Day one our class went to the library and talk to Mrs. Berickstrum and she helps us get some help on our career choices. The second day I look up information on Gale Virtual References gave me a numerous amount of information for my career. Also on Day three I learned this day that you should know what classes you should take for your careers and know the income or also now if you travel a lot. On Day 4 I made a hook and talked about what I know or think I know. I also ask questions about what I want to know about my career.
Some classes I need to take to become a Private Investigator would be. A college education is a requirement for prospective detectives, especially in courses related to law enforcement or criminal justice. But training is not a requirement for this job, but a license is also required. According to “A Private Investigator Profile”, there is a great deal of job growth in this field expected, particularly as many private detectives reach retirement age
The career I chose was a Canine Police Officer. I chose to be a Canine Police Officer because I could help the community be a better and safer place. After some Canine Police Officers conducted a demonstration at a camp that I attended, I thought it would be a great job to have. They showed us some of the commands. The Canine Police Officers also showed how the dog would attack and hold onto the suspect. The Canine Police Officers also said that some of the commands are in a different language. Depending on where the dog was trained, that is the language that most of the commands are in. It would also be a great job for me because I love dogs.
My mother has always asked me what I wanted to be when I get older. For so many years I was not able not able to answer this question. She is not the only one that have asked me this question. I have found that this question has become to be common to many of us. On the other hand, after working for fifteen years as a security officer, I know exactly what I want to do with my life. I want to further my education and skills to pursue my career. I have chosen Criminal Justice as my choice of studies. I have already obtained an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Ashworth University. My intention is to continue to go to college and obtain a bachelor degree in this field and work hard in order to gain as much information as I can. I am a
Choosing a career is a very stressful, meaningful, and sometimes exciting thing. While choosing a career you have to think about many different aspects. There are so many choices and decisions that have to be made. Will you get into the right college? Will you be able to succeed in life? Will you make enough money to later support a family? Most importantly, do you love it? I have gone from a Veterinarian, a police officer, a lawyer, and a federal agent specializing in crimes against children. Even though those were all careers I thought were right for me, they were not. My chosen career and true passion is a Prosecuting Attorney, and eventually Attorney General.
During the course of my undergraduate work I spent a good deal of time considering exactly what I wished to do after I received my Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and my Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies. Ever since I was a child I have had an interest in law enforcement in some way or another. Having spent a good deal of my childhood fishing and hiking I was always interested in environmental conservation, so with that in mind I always had an interest in becoming a game warden or a forest ranger. As time has gone on I still hold on to the ideas and the ideals that I held when I was younger, but now I also would consider a career in a federal law enforcement organization such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), National Security Agency (NSA), or the like. Ultimately I
Law enforcement is a career that is both violent and rewarding in many capacities. Justice needs to be served in law enforcement and they have a responsibility to uphold the law and serve the people in the community. Law enforcement is crucial in the world today as a global realm as life continues to be more complex and law enforcement struggles to combat many aspects of crime. In order to combat these problems and have a positive future in the criminal justice system, everyone must work together on a bigger scale.
Some individuals know early on in life what their career choice may be, while others may not know just yet. I was undecided until I enrolled for classes in 2011. I am now four semesters away from being able to graduate with a bachelor’s degree so I can attend law school. I have an interest in attending Oklahoma City University School of Law. I have done some research on this particular school and feel that this would be a better fit for myself.
There will always be a fight for justice, and where there is crime there are those who must solve them. I wish to pursue a career in the criminal justice industry, mainly working as a forensic science criminalist. Those who use scientific logic and evidence found at the scene of the crime to solve the case, The heroes who don’t wear the labcoats instead of the black and blues. Heroes like these need certain skills, interests, and values that make them an official criminalist.
When I think of possible career options there is only one field that comes to mind and that is Law Enforcement. Law Enforcement jobs are very common in my immediate and distant family. In more specifics, my father and brother are both correctional officers but ironically I want to be a FBI Special Agent. I have always wanted to become something to better the world but just recently I changed my mind from wanting to become a Crime Scene Investigator to a FBI Special Agent.
That’s an interesting first name. Generally Bailey is a last name right? It looks like me and you have something in common, which is pursuing a Criminal Justice Counseling degree. You seem like a compassionate individual that is active among the career you’re trying to accomplish. I never heard of Students against Destructive Decision (SADD). I had to look it up once I read it. That’s great that the program focuses on teens. It’s important to make sure that the youth aren’t ignored. A troubled teen can lead to so many other problems, especially as they grow older. What is the occasional problem that you guys happen to deal with more often than others? I’m going to assume bullying or depression? Back during my high school years, we had a suicide
Attorney’s fight everyday to ensure the rights of their clients the “Victim”. Today even with new laws being put into the law books that help victims when violated, the courts are still not looking out for those individuals who have in fact be victimized. “Advocates for victims’ rights have long complained that they have been sidelined by a criminal justice system that is focused on the interplay between the state and the defendant”. (Boland & Butler, 2009)This statement alone dictates how the system actually works when it comes to the victim in court. Most individuals lose sight that there
The amount of success we will have is based on planning. Imagining myself as an artists has always been my focus, still I allowed other opinions and ideas to influence me to change my decision. My focus is on how successful I’ll be. I want to be financially stable and not dependent on others. Faced with these choices I have automatically washed away my dreams of being an artist. The career path I’ve been focusing on now is Criminal Justice. No matter what I do, I want to be satisfied and productive to my career.
The criminal justice system in today’s society is mocked, ridiculed, and criticized from every angle and aspect of the field. My experience with the criminal justice system has been from several different aspects. Some aspects led to positive interactions while others were negative. As a people, we all give a heavier merit to the negative impacts of experience that we have had. The general public shows this on a daily basis through the media and in person.
Today our world is filled with crime. The people committing these crimes must have a consequence for their illegal actions. The system in place to keeping everything fair and safe is called the criminal justice system. This was put in place to ensure there is fairness and justice served to people who break the laws set up by the government.
The career I am going to be pursuing is criminal justice. I am going to apply for the border patrol, an opportunity that one of my fellow law enforcement officials has pointed out to me. As far as my interest in the career, I have had an interest in becoming a police officer for a long time. This has been my career interest since I was eight, thanks to my cousin who is now a detective for Minnesota. My target goal is to one day become a detective for the Detroit or for the Federal Government. This career is not only the career that I have passion for but I feel myself exceeding in the field.
Well to start off by saying that it was something that I thought long and hard about, it just happened. When I started working in the Shelby County Jail in 2001, I had no idea of what I was about to face. Obviously, I did not need a degree to work there just clerical experience and a great personality. About four years later one of my co-workers convinced me to return to school and I did. I could not think of anything else to take up in school so I went with what I am already experiencing at the time, Criminal Justice. Well, after a year and a half or so of many sleepless nights, juggling two small kids, being a single parent, much hard work and dedication on the job and in school, I received my
