“Will it be seven more years?” “Yes. Seven.” The children began to wail as the rain fell harder and in thick sheets. “Margot! We have to go free her!” “ What do you mean? Where is Margot? Where is she?” The teacher has now realized that Margot was nowhere to be found. The teacher gathered the kids together and brought them back to the classroom. On their way to down the tunnel the children realized that Margot is still pounding and throwing herself against the door. “Oh my!” The teacher shouted. The teacher hurried to the door and took out her keys and began to shuffle with them, not able to find the right one. The children slightly bounced on the balls of the their feet, anxiously waiting for the door to be open. Once the teacher got ahold of the right key, she shoved it into the door and sighed with relief when she pulled it open. The door was unlocked and Margot was freed. …show more content…
She leapt to her feet as if she was ready to bolt any minute. The teacher grabbed a tissue box from a cabinet that sat next to the heavy door. She handed the box to Margot, but she didn’t accept it instead she stood up and said, “ Seven more years…” The teacher went up to Margot and grabbed her shoulders and told her that she will call Margot’s parents. When Margot’s parents arrived, Julie and Matthew, they quickly grabbed all of Margot’s belongings from school and rushed her home. Julie told Margot to pack her things, they would be leaving for Earth in a week. Margot went up to her room and all she could think about was how her classmates did something so mean. Once Margot’s decorative things were packed up, she headed downstairs for

Religion played a significant role in Ernest Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms. The attitudes that the character had towards the war and life were closely associated with their views on religion. Due to extreme circumstances of war, moral standards were obscure for the characters. Almost everything related to the war violated the normal code of morality, which led many to feel disenchanted. Those who viewed the war as senseless had no faith in God or religion. For the character of Fredrick Henry it was clear that his faith in God was a subject of conflict. Henry was a character that understood religion, but did not love God. His love for Catherine was the most religious feeling that he
My name is Kaley Purdom and I write to you hopeful to give you some insight as to who I am as a person. A few things you should know is that I’m very reserved among people and apprehensive when it comes to speaking in class and or making speeches. Although, when around family and friends I liked to be hysterical, outgoing and boisterous. Making people laugh and smile are always enjoyable moments that I get throughout my life.
‘"Margot." One of the girls said, "Well… ?" No one moved. "Go on," whispered the girl.’ This sentence shows when the kids remembered about Margot in the closet after the sun was gone and the rain started again. They are feeling ashamed at themselves for leaving Margot in the closet when she needed the sun more than any of them. Another quote from the story is “They walked slowly down the hall in the sound of cold rain. They turned through the doorway to the room in the sound of the storm and thunder, lightning on their faces, blue and terrible. They walked over to the closet door slowly and stood by it.” These lines are setting up a very tense scene as the children are walking down the tunnel to the closet containing Margot. This leads us to believe that the children are very nervous to let her out because they don't know what will happen once they let Margot out or the trouble they will be in for locking her in the closet during the time that the sun came
The crowd gazed at the green-skinned woman in silent horror. She had already gone around terrorizing everyone in the square. Vella and Shay heard Oz whisper something to Glinda. The woman whipped around and looked at him.
Under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, police and crime commissioners were created, these are bodies that are directly elected and as a result are directly accountable to the people by which they serve in. Police and crime commissioners have a statutory duty to “secure the maintenance of the police force and to secure that the police force is efficient and effective”
There was a long silent pause, but about five minutes later in a bitter and bleak voice with tears rolling down her cheeks. Margot uttered, “How was the sun?” All the kids looked down at their feet feeling guilty for what they had done to Margot. Then out of nowhere Margot fell to the ground in tears. She cried out, ¨I miss my home so much and the sun was the only thing I had to remind me of it,¨ the students stood in shock not knowing what to do.
As William was riding his bike in the frigid and rainy weather, he saw Margot’s house. He dared not to even look by because he was so frightened by Margot’s parent. He remembered when he had accidentally “pushed” Margot in the hallway, but it wasn't him, it was that kid who was next to him. Margot yelled in a irated voice, “ Why would you do that!?!?!”
The kids realized that Margot now must wait 7 years to see the sun, and they felt remorseful for locking her up in a closet. After they came back into the classroom and saw it was raining, then they all realized the deed that they had done was very severe and they were sympathetic for her. Once they went to the door, they heard nothing behind the closet doors. They
The front door slamming let Bella know her mother and the new toy boy were home. She closed her eyes, inhaled and let it out slow. When she heard her mother’s door shut and the muffled giggles that followed, she made her way to her own room.
I am doing well and I hope you are too! I remember meeting you in Mrs. Vera’s office. Thank you so much for referring Ashley to WPU. I’ve spoken with Ashley yesterday and she submitted her application and test scores to me. I am currently waiting on her transcript, which she mentioned that she has requested her Guidance Counselor to mail over. Academically, the way things are looking so far, I believe she does have a great chance of being admitted. However, she mentioned that she was suspended during her sophomore year. I am currently following-up with her high school to get some clarification on the suspension (hopefully nothing major).
As the sun peeked through the blinds on her front window, Gianna stretched and panicked she was late for school. Then she remembered it was summer break and she could take her time getting out of bed. She wondered how many more mornings it would take for her to realize she didn’t have to rush into the shower and get to school. Instead, she contemplated what she felt like doing today. It looked like a nice day so probably the beach as usual. Just then her phone began sending notifications.
No matter how harsh she scrubs, her hands will constantly be left tinged with the never ending reminder of her self destructive ways. It defines her. Darkness and pain, and the absolute promise of no tomorrow. That's all she is now. She sits upon the edge of the rooftop, peering down onto her eventual fate. Ariana is broken, and she knows that full well. A half-empty bottle of vodka is warm beneath her palms—the only part of her that is—and she takes a long swig, wondering how much it will take to drown herself. She wants to be strong again; she wants to feel the adrenaline of confidence pulsing through her and stunning those around her. She wants to smile and let it reach her eyes. She wants to clean her hands— those dirty hands that have
Where are you? I’m in New York City in our small apartment on West 63rd where I live with my 2 kids and wife, Nellie. And I’m at the kitchen table.
According to Stephen P. Robbins and Timothy A. Judge book; Essential of Organizational behavior, leadership is a process and the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of a vision, set and attends to a common goal within its group context. I will not argue against that description. However, I have heard that Hitler could be identified as a great leader, and that made me wonder what definite a leader in a leadership role. Therefore, in this paper, I will reflect on what I have learn about leadership in this class, where I stand in the leadership spectrum, and what does my result tells me about the kind of leadership role I may have.
