Eleanor doesn’t dodge the second punch. It hits her ear and she crumbles to the floor. The stench of blood takes over her senses and makes her head spin. A sharp kick to her ribs makes her scream. Eleanor isn’t used to physical beatings such as this -- emotional yes, but not physical. Bodily pain is something she doesn’t know how to deal with. “If you give up now there’s no hope for you.” Eleanor weakly raises her head and looks to Walker. In two hours, Eleanor hasn’t been able to land a single hit. Her body aches with the evidence of Walker’s abilities and lack of her own. But the taunting is the worst. Not only will this affect us, but everyone else as well.” “You haven’t told them, have you?” Through the question, Walker could hear the underlying anger hidden beneath Willa’s words. “No. That’s something you need to do. This isn’t something we can keep secret.” “Like you aren’t already keeping secrets from the others,” Willa sneers. “You and your family. Are you going to tell the others?” “My past isn’t as important as yours, Willa. I didn’t try to kill my friend! Someone I cared for!” Deadly silence follows after Walker’s outburst. Willa looks about ready to murder him, but also ready to just burst into tears. Her voice is slow and steady when she finally speaks again. “Then you shouldn’t have tried to stop me.” “How could I have not?” Walker takes a step towards Willa. She’s shaking. “Did you really expect me to stand by and watch the person I love try to kill herself?” He grips her hands in his, holding them to his chest. Willa can feel the steady beat of his heart. She weakly attempts to pull away from his warm chest, but she finds that the effort needed isn’t worth it. She lets Walker hold her and brings her in
