Tyler was tired. He didn’t exactly remember why, and he didn’t want to try to, either because it would take too much energy. He could have been doing homework, or he could have been playing video games. He didn’t really care. He said goodnight to Jake, his dog. Surprisingly, he didn’t fall asleep instantaneously. It was like his body didn’t want him to sleep.
Suddenly, he was on a tower in a castle. He had a bow, and there were a bunch of zombies below him. He was aware he was dreaming, but this didn’t seem like a nightmare. It was fun, almost like a game. He wasn’t the only one on the tower. A collection of people were also there with him. They didn’t look very medieval, more like Jedi. Tyler had fun defending against the zombies. He had

Jake got up, stiffly. Then he lunged at Tyler.
He woke up in a cylindrical room. It had no door, windows, or any way to get out. Tyler couldn’t even understand how he could breathe. He didn’t mind having some time to think. He knew that he was dreaming, and whenever he died in his dream he went to a new dream. It already seemed like it had been way more than a night of dreaming. Maybe if he went through enough dreams he would wake up. All he had to do was die in each dream. Tyler laughed.
“All I have to do is die in every dream. Never thought I’d say that,” whispered Tyler. He kept laughing, then stopped because he probably sounded crazy. Then he got to the task of wondering what he was going to do. Tyler didn’t know how long he waited in the room. It could have been years, it could have been seconds. Then he noticed that the ground had become slippery. Then it was like the floor was a puddle. He couldn’t find where the water was coming from. It rose to his ankles. Then to his knees. It kept rising until Tyler could swim in it. Not that he would want to, seeing as the water was freezing cold. As it rose, it got hotter, until the water was at his shoulders and it was as hot as a hot spring.
‘Maybe that’s where I am. Stuck in some underground hot spring’ thought Tyler. Luckily, he could swim, but the water kept rising until it became unbearably hot and he couldn’t touch the bottom. He didn’t know whether he would be boiled alive or
“The Soc caught my arm and twisted it behind my back, and shoved my face into the fountain. I fought, but the hand at the back of my neck was strong, and I had to hold my breath. I’m dying, I thought, and wondered what was happening to Johnny. I couldn’t hold my breath any longer. I fought again desperately, but only sucked in water.
“Well, I generally prefer more adult dreams, but I guess any good dream will do. I only get pockets of sleep these days.”
The sweat in my head starts to run down to the corner of my eye and I immediately start thinking of a single thing, the ice cold Frio River, I suggested to my friend that we should start heading towards it so we did. By submerging in the water, my nervous system instantly reacted to the temperature but soon after, relief. At the bottom of the river floor I feel the rocks smoothed out by the water along with the algae and every so often some young fish that thrive there. Along the end of the “section” of the river there’s a little wall where water falls down from to another section, while sitting there I can feel the strong pressure of the water hitting against my chest, consequently, I reach a point of relaxation incomparable to all
“Why is my life so boring?” Renaldo was thinking about how his life could possibly be more adventurous before he went to sleep. “Wouldn’t it be pretty cool if I was, like, abducted by aliens or something?” Renaldo had no idea of the irony of that statement. “ Well, There goes another boring, gloomy day...” Renaldo thought as he drifts off into sleep.
He hadn’t slept in days. He wouldn’t sleep until everything was somewhat normal. He had made everyone stay up all night until they had a plan. They didn’t sleep very well that night.
In the middle of the night, Alex was in the middle of finishing his paper for a school assignment with already five empty cans of Red Bull. Alex couldn’t think straight knowing that it was due the next day. Exhausted, Alex decides to take a thirty minute nap. What harm would a thirty minute nap do to me?, thought Alex. He went to bed, set the alarm, and fell asleep. Ten minutes seem to pass when Alex wakes up, but something didn’t seem right. He couldn’t seem to move or speak. How odd, Alex thought. Moments passed before he realized that his eyes weren’t even open. Yet, he was aware of all of his surroundings. Is this a dream?, Alex thought to himself. Moments passed when Alex didn’t seem to know what to do but to just look at his room, until
One summer night in a neighbourhood, Bryan got on his motorcycle and was looking for a ramp. Then he hit a fence and found a slide. He jumped over the fence and landed in a cold, cold pool. Then the pool’s owner had just seen what happened. She called the local police station to get him out and warm. Then his dad came to pick him up.
Sam looked up to see a whirlpool. He had been planning for this moment for years. He would swim into the whirlpool and hope for the best. But the wirlpool was a good mile off in the distance, at his age he had trouble getting around. He didn't have much time so did the first thing that came to mind. He swam over to a neighboring house and outside was a dolphin, which is mermaids used for transportation. He sliced the tether that was tied to the house to keep the dolphin there. He Hoped on and rode as fast as he could towards the whirlpool. He rode and rode until he was upon the whirlpool. He jumped off the dolphin into the whirlpool swimming as hard as he could towards the surface. Water rushed around him until he felt this weird sensation. It was very warm, He looked up to see the
The wet tiles that were beneath my feet felt cold, and moist. The locker room was filled with the sound of scalding water slapping the tile floor harshly. The room felt hot and humid like a summer day in Florida. I could feel my anxiety burning within me, in the same way a fire burns down a forest. It grows profusely worse as the second hand on the clock above my locker ticks away. I quickly changed into my swim trunks, and crept into the swimming area with fear and anticipation. I tiptoed my way down the stairs that led into the pool. I could feel the brisk water slowly creep up my leg as I forced myself deeper and deeper. I was on my way to my mother who was going to try and teach me how to do a back float. I remember tipping
I opened my eyes at the bottom of the deep end and saw water swirling around me. “How in the world will I ever reach the top?” I thought. I repeated Emily’s words in my head, “You can do this, Clover, You can do this Clover, You can do this, Clover!” I did what years of swim teaching at Daland had taught me. I pushed the bottom of my feet against the bottom of the water.
I dove through the cold currents, feeling my hands create an opening through the water. I closed my aching eyes and let the water submerge me, pulling me in. The sun cast shadows on the floor of the pool, shifting every now and then. I could feel the warmth of the sun as I swam further. I sighed, deeply content.
Sleep was terrifying. Ever since Allie and her mother, Eva, had ran off from her murderous father, Allie had been avoiding falling into the darkness called sleep. Her father was a madman, he convinced Allie from a young age that everything he was doing was for her. Every week, Allie saw another man go into their basement, and never come out. What her father did to these men was left to question.
I am sitting on an inflatable tube in the middle of Lake Michigan. I’m not sure how I got here. Suddenly, I hear “Lean back!”; I’m not sure why, but I just lean back. I’m so scared, I don’t know what is happening. I see a big white boat with blue dual canvas start to go fast, and I feel a jerk. I don’t know what’s happening! Is the tube sinking? Am I going to drown? What is happening? The boat is now going fast, and I’m told I can sit up now. I am kneeling on the tube for five seconds, and I say “OH MY GOSH! This is so fun!!!”. I can’t believe that I have never done this before. I was being pulled so fast that the wind dried my face from the splashing fishy water. There is a wave and my knees fly almost a foot off of the tube! This is the
Gerard rolled over and sat up as he heard Mikey open cabinets and drawers downstairs. His head still felt heavy and fuzzy with disorientation, like it had been yesterday, feeling like someone had filled his head with molten metal and it had slowly hardened overnight. He placed his feet on the carpet and willed his legs to allow him to stand up on the cold, hard wood. He didn't feel particularly sick, more depersonalized, like a part of him was still laying in bed
One day, I woke up to find myself staring at a dark, dreary, and wet cave ceiling. "Ugh, Cira, how did you get here...." I said to myself. A drop of water fell straight onto my face, so I decided to get out of this cave. Cold and wet, I tried to find my way home, but my silky dress kept getting caught on pointy rocks. "Stupid rocks," I murmured under my breath. As I finally got my dress unstuck, I heard a loud scream. "Oh no...." I thought. "Not Liberty again..." Liberty Sword was a mad scientist. She was my best friend until I accidentally turned the potion she was working on into a cat. She screamed and yelled at me and said she had been working on it for nearly two years. Liberty told me to get out and to never come near her again and we were sworn enemies and blah, blah, blah. Now she liked to experiment on other people and monsters.
