People have contemplated many different theories about the creation of the world. There are two versions that rival each other and those are the religious and the scientific version.

The question of how and when the universe was created has always been a topic of debate. Every culture has diverse beliefs which also comes with different explanations or justifications on how the world came to be. The Iroquois creation story for example is believed to be originated in the late 18th to early 19th century and ironically has similar details with the Judeo-Christian story which originated in the 12th century on the other side of the world.

Begging the question is a type of logical fallacy that “avoids the argumentative process” (McInerny 109). An example of a begging the question fallacy is when my friend argued for his point that Panera Bread is the healthiest fast food alternative restaurant. My friend, Tim, stated that “Salads and fruit smoothies are the healthiest types of food. Since, Panera Bread serves several types of salads and fruit smoothies this makes Panera Bread the healthiest fast food alternative.” Tim’s statement exemplifies begging the question fallacy because the conclusion, “Panera Bread is the healthiest fast food alternative”, does not have logical premise and reasoning behind the argument. Tim did not provide any factual information proving the fact that salads and fruit smoothies are the healthiest food option. Also, Tim did not compare the actual calories in the food at Panera compared to a typical fast food restaurant, such as McDonalds. In summation, Tim completely ignored the reasoning that backed up his conclusion, which was Panera is the healthiest fast food alternative, thus making the conclusion a begging the question fallacy.

There must have once been a time when nothing existed. But then how did these items come into being? There must be something or someone able to bring other items into being without itself being brought into being. This necessary being is God.

God created the universe and all parts thereof. God is separate from his creation. God rules over his creation. The creation of the universe is a gift from God, ruled by God. God is transcendent.

In Chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis, we are told that God creates both the universe and everything that is in it. Thomas Aquinas, a leading scholar of the Middle Ages, argued that “Everything in the universe has a cause. Trace those causes back and there must have been a First Cause that triggered everything else. God is that First Cause.”

The biblical metanarrative touches the storyline of the main book, the Bible, from the beginning from Genesis to the end of Revelation. Throughout the bible there are many stories that have a message and come across to Christians that relate to their life. The bible is one book with many events that tells one big story. There are five acts of the biblical metanarrative consists of which are, Act I: The God of Creation, Act II: Sin Enters the World, Act III: God Covenants with Israel, Act IV: Jesus and the New Covenant, and Act V: The Fellowship of believers. Each of these Acts have stories about the life of Jesus that has a meaning Christians relate to.

Before the Incarnation, when God's declaration to humanity was partial and developing. This means that God uses physical appearance to reveal himself to us. St. John of Damascus (730 AD) describes the value of material things in knowing the invisible God. In the Old Testament, we encounter blessings, washings, kissings, ritual meals, circumcision, etc, all of which involve God providing his grace and revelation using created things, rituals, and symbols. At the heart of sacramental theology that is based on reflection on the liturgical ceremony of these rites throughout history,the incarnation, that God becomes a human in Jesus Christ. The gods of the universe had no forms, they knew nothing and so did nothing. And so the stars formed around them, the planets grew, the moons and comets and other matter formed and began to do. And so the gods woke up. They communicated and enjoyed the company of each other, they explored the universe and watched the birth of countless stars, they saw planets and touched down on each until such time as they settled here. Two world views on creation were discussed by Lennox between the Israelites and the neighbors of the Israelites. The first being, the Israelites believed that God created the world out of nothing yet the neighbors of the Israelites believed that their gods created the world out of materials that were already present. Israel believed God made humanity with purpose,great design, and good, whereas Israel’s neighbors thought that the gods created humanity as an afterthought, with little purpose, and humans were made from the bad blood of an evil god, so they were not good. Have you ever wondered how the universe came into existence? There are several different theories or views on the origin of the world. Three of these views would include but not limited to: theistic evolution, the big bang theory, and the view called abiogenesis.

Creation stories are obviously stories about the creation of the world. They, just like us, vary in their origins and how they are structured. Each contains the tale of how that certain culture or religion views the beginning of everything, ranging from the animals to the world itself. Creators came in the form of gods or other super-human beings and they handled each world differently. These stories each gave us an idea of how the world we are living in was made, and some even tells us about how we were made.

There is a huge debate about how the world was created and who was first. It can also be questioned if god created mankind or if mankind created god. There are many different beliefs to how mankind was created but they are all connected in some way. It can be said that god came first because there needed to be one person that then realized more people were needed on Earth as mentioned in the creation myths for Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nigeria. These all talk about different ways that god decided how mankind should be created.

This is one of the biggest questions in physics and everyday life. How did the universe begin? How did everything that we see, smell, feel, or hear come into existence? If there are answers to these questions then more questions arise such as: When did it begin? Where did it begin? Why did it begin? Every person that walked the Earth and lived their small, miniscule lives have looked to the oceans, skies, stars, and planets, and wondered what their purpose and plan was in the grand universe. Through research, studies, science and technology, man has been extremely powerful in such a short existence on this planet. Man has developed laws of nature, machines, computers, satellites, space shuttles, and weapons strong enough to destroy all known human existence. Man is amazing. Man can invent life-changing inventions but cannot ‘create’. To create is to cause something new to exist. All that man has made was from something that already exists. Man cannot create something from nothing and man cannot create life. So the question arises: if man is so amazing, how did man come into existence? There are a variety of philosophers from every era recorded by man to discuss this topic. The philosophers have had differing and ever-changing ideas about this topic whether it was by the Big Bang or by the Bumba god, or the Christian God.
