Lastly, The United States should of joined the World War II because we were attacked after we were trying to stay out of the war. The United States only option was to enter World War because Pearl Harbor was an unprovoked terrorist attack. Also, America had to respond and defend itself. Hitler was also posing a threat to the safety of the entire world. If the United States had not counterattacked Japan, we would have looked weak for the world because we didn't defend ourselves.

I believe that World War II was a continuation of World War I because of some not resolved issues. Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles by expanding the military and invading Poland. One of the events that led to the beginning of World War 1 was: Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism; which stands for MAIN. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia but they then joined up with Russia. After, Germany declared war on Russia which caused the war to expand. World War I ended in 1918 when Germany surrendered. It also had a great impact on European countries after it ended.

The battle of World War II was a very difficult thing to go through. “World War II began on September 1, 1939, when 1.5 million German troops invaded Poland.”(World War II) World War II made people leave their families and go fight. It also got countries involved that originally weren’t and don’t need to be involved. One could make the argument WW 2 was a continuation of WW1. World War 2 occurred twenty years after World War 1. WW 1 left causes leading to WW 2, like, Treaty of Versailles and the search for thorough ideas, such as Fascism, communism and militarism. It was due to the terrible conditions of different countries after the wars. I think that World War II was a continuation of World War I.

World War II was one of the bloodiest wars ever fought. World War II cost over 60 million lives and trillions of dollars. However, the entire war could of been prevented. Many wars in history could have been prevented. Rash decisions ignite wars and change history forever. One example of a rash decision is the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles required Germany to pay excessive reparations. This was impossible at the time, as the country was just in a long and expensive war. Another irrational decision was the laws of the League of Nations. The League of Nations was a good idea, but it had flaws. Allowing members to leave the League of Nations at anytime without consequences is an example of a flaw. Germany used this to their advantage and left it in 1933. Finally, the leaders of Europe should not have pacified Hitler, like they did in the Munich Conference in 1938. Changes to the Treaty of Versailles, and the League of Nations, and by not practicing a policy of appeasement against Hitler could have prevented World War II.

Although measures were set in place to avoid a second world war, many things caused it to be inevitable. The Treaty of Versailles, the rise of Hitler, the rise of Japan as a world power, the rise of fascism in Italy and the League of Nations were all factors which contributed to the cause of World War II.

You would have to break it down as such: World War I broke out over the sectionalism and nationalism that was pretty prevalent during the time as well as the alliances that were built during the time period reflected the values and goals those countries were pursuing at the time to further their agenda, the period between 1918 to 1933 was more about isolationism than any other set of foreign policy, the world could have prevented rearmament and the rise of the Third Reich in Germany, the Second World War could have been prevented or at least be mitigated impact if effort was exerted by countries enforcing the Treaty of Versailles, even though the war would became another inevitable opportunity. These concepts defined the period, and if things went a little differently, we could have seen a different world emerged as a result. I think historians will question why the Second World War happened because today most people would view it as a preventable, yet inevitable sequel due to the actions of many parties. Though countries might have wanted to stop Hitler in Germany; they had their own county and people to worry about. Millions of people could have been saved from the Nazi’s lust for purity if the United States would have entered the war earlier than they have.
