I was in corpus cristie. And there was a little 3rd grader getting bullied. And some kid pushed him and knoked him over and called him a bad name. And I helped him pick up his books up from the ground and he said thank you. Then the next day he got into a fight and I told the bully to stop but he didn’t he just pushed me and told me to backup. But I didn’t I pushed him and the 3rd grader said stop let me handle it so he did. And after that he came to my house he said thank you for helping me. I said your welcome and we played for hours. we became best friends after that. His name was Tray Blackwell. we were so much alike he liked every thing I liked to do and he liked every thing I wanted to do. After along time the bullying started to stop
I went to the same elementary school from kindergarten to 5th grade, Suncoast Elementary School. My brother, my sister and I all went to Suncoast Elementary school from k-5th. My sister is still in elementary school, but once she gets out she’ll either go to Gulf Coast or Powell. My brother, my sister and I all had the same kindergarten class room but always had a different teacher. At that school my brother would hang out with the people in the office often so when I got there they all knew my name and was extra nice to me. This is only about my experience from kindergarten through 3rd grade.
His name was Jermaine Harris. I first met him at my cousin house and we started conversating then we realized we both go to the same school. He was a grade higher than me. Jermaine was light-skin, tall and had nice hair. Our schedules were different so I would leave my fifth period class to go down to the lunchroom to see him. We would only text, that was my only crush. Last time I saw Jermaine was in May at Shaw prom line-up. Periods at school were absolutely the worst. It was like the boys in my class knew when any one of us girls were on our monthly cycle. They would make fun of us, that would really annoy me. When it was my time I would try to keep my attitude from being real like nasty towards other. I kept a happy constant mood until I got home. People think I’m mean. People see me as a quiet person, but I am the most funniest, coolest person somebody could meet. For seventh and eighth grade the same people were in my class, and we became a family. Everybody in that class had a bond and we felt it couldn’t be broken. That couldn't be more true even though I transferred I still talk to everybody I had class with. Good to see everybody still in school, this our last year Some of us has jobs now, other playing sports one person is now pregnant but she still in school. Having these people as friends made middle school as great
My preschool years I started off at a school called Lake Rim in Hope Mills, North Carolina. My teacher's name was Mrs.Keller and we were all little kids so we thought she was scary because her name was so close to killer. By the second day we realized that she was a very compassionate and nice teacher after giving us candy for every math problem we got right. I didn't go to Lake Rim for long because I think we were two months into the school year and as I was getting out of the reading tub one day a kid named Jermaine. He had just got done at the math section before running across the classroom screaming and as I turned around to get out of the tub he superman kicked me in the face and I flew back into the tub. Mrs.Keller quickly came over to see if I was alright and took me to the guidance office because I had a bloody nose and a boot mark on my face.
I grew up in Sugar Creek and went to a private school for daycare. I honestly don’t remember much about it, but when kindergarten year started I moved here to the Fort Osage District. I remember me meeting a boy, which I was kind of mean to. My mom had my mind set at boys are gross and have cooties, and school was all that mattered. Which still to this day I try my hardest to stick to school, and my two jobs. He kept trying to talk to me almost everyday, and having the same recess together didn’t help me out any.
Well diary, it all started at CSY Middle School with by best bro, Landon. We were just talking in the locker-filled hallways all by ourselves, for school had been out for at least 25 minutes. All the kids had gone home, except for the ones at basketball practice in the gym. Then there were teachers grading papers or doing whatever teachers do after all the kids leave their classrooms. Everyone was gone, and we were alone making small-talk.
Second period had just ended and you would see students walking out to the field. Taking it easy I approached the end of the ramp, I took a look around and I saw the many small cliques. I heard a faint voice call my name so I turned to see who it was. A teacher. She looked at me and signaled to come over. She had told me to talk to young girl who was by herself, just like me. I sat down next to her, we were both silent. I decided to break the ice and ask her a few questions and she asked some in return. We had some form of a conversation, and because of that we became friends. Best friends. I never knew that it was that easy, and soon after that our friendship circle became a lot bigger. I was able to laugh and smile just like how I saw the other students on the first day of school. I was able to come to school and enjoy it. When I was young I always thought that I would be attending Mira Mesa High School, I never had imagined graduating at High Tech High North County, until
When I made thirteen years old we had move to Lake Charles Louisiana, my mother had gotten a better job and a new house. Only part I didn’t like was my mother boyfriend move with us to Lake Charles and that I had to make new friends because I didn’t know anyone out there. I started 7th Grade when we move to Lake Charles and I wasn’t happy about it because I had friends in Crowley and didn’t want to move. My first day at Oak Park Middle School I was very quiet because I didn’t know anyone or had family members there. There was this girl name Barbara Thompson who had came sat with me for lunch because I was sitting by myself and she introduce herself to me . I was very happy she came sit with me instead of me sitting alone by myself, then that’s
This articles discusses the difference between assimilation and “dissimilation” of Mexican immigrants over time and where they are located, and sub sequentially prove that assimilation does occur with in the Mexican group. The authors are able to support this through their gathering educational data from Mexican- origin individuals and later generation immigrants. Their findings showed that as the generations went on, the Mexican individuals proceeded to mimic white members. The authors sub-claim that some immigrants pull away from the norm by reverse assimilating, known as “dissimilation.” The author supports this idea with the work from Yinger (1981), that covered the resurgence of Native American pride after years of assimilation. The authors
So this is where my story takes off. It was just a normal fall day in November of 2011. I woke up ate cereal and said bye to my dad not knowing I would never see him again. I rode my bike to school with Zack. He wasn’t just any friend, he was my best friend we hung out every day we did everything together. Back to what I was saying it was just a regular day going to school at the end of the day my principle called my teacher and said that I was too come to the
At the end of my first grade year, I moved away from the small, rural town near Vienna where I had lived since I was born. On my first day of school at Lincoln Elementary, I quickly made friends with two girls in my class named Pam and Kelly. Pam and Kelly introduced me to their group of friends that were all in our second grade class. For the rest of the school year, this group of friends was who I played on the playground with everyday and talked to in the classroom. After a great first year of school in Marion, the time came for my third grade year. Every year at Lincoln, there is a day that is close to the beginning of the school year where the students can come to the school to meet their new teacher and look at the class list to see which of their friends is in their class. On that morning, I went to Lincoln to find out who my new teacher was. To my dismay, I found out that all of my friends from second grade had a different teacher than I did. After finding out that I was not in class with any of my friends, I knew that I would have to find a new friend to talk to in my third grade class in addition to having all of my friends from second grade. At the beginning of my third grade year, I hung out with two friends I met named Phyllis and Erin. As the year progressed, I started to hang out with Angela who would soon become one of my best
Late nineteenth century and early twentieth century marks the time period for massive immigration from around the world to come to the United States. The United States was the land of opportunity and development for all the people. The industrial labor composed of skilled laborers and unskilled laborers. Immigrants, due
It was my brother at his MUHS graduation, and it sparked me to look at other photos from Marquette High. I saw pictures from senior shared life, sporting events and other graduations. I started to cry, these were things that I wanted to experience, I wanted to be part of the community that existed in these photos. Still, I was not looking forward to my junior year, my grades were bad, I had no friends and I had no interests. However this all changed in my sixth period American Hero class. I had heard stories of Mr. Kearney and was eager to be in his class. When I sat down, I randomly picked a spot in the class but was soon accompanied by kid with ungroomed blonde hair. Roll call ensued and I quickly figured out this kid was Dan Drees, a person I had heard of but never spoken to. We continued to sit by each other throughout the semester, but only made small conversation. Next semester Dan and I shared another class and free period and this is where our friendship truly developed. I began to sit next to Dan and his friends at lunch and they welcomed me with open
My mom kept being persistent about me going outside instead of being inside all of the time, so my brother and I went out to ride our bikes. I went out and started to ride my bike up and down the street. That’s when I heard a girl say “Hi” when I passed the house across from mine. It was a girl and her younger sister that looked about my age. And from that day on we always
Ralph Waldo Emerson’s argument can still be applied in today's society because self-expression and diversity are highly valued even now.
New to Kissimmee I did not know what to expect. I was always a shy kid. Not thinking I was going to make any friends anytime soon I met this kid in my neighborhood called Jacob. Turns out we got on the same bus and sat next to each other on our way to elementary school. We never got the same class until fourth grade. Let me tell you the teacher was not happy me and Jacob were a tag team of little dare devils.
