On June 26, 1876 there was a battle against the U.S troops and the Native Americans over land. The battle was in Montana in the Little Bighorn river. There battle got its name by the Little Bighorn river. People today say they still here ghostly sound around there. The battle was famous because the Native Americans won the battle.

The question "were the British soldiers 'Lions led by Donkeys?'" has been an ongoing debate since the end of the war. A war which is dominated by images of bloody battles such as the Somme and Passchendaele - futile frontal attacks against the machine guns.

Have certain interrogatories popped in your head repeatedly? How do we know if someone hears us beyond the grave? The term “Mid-Century Modern” is used to broadly describe a style of architecture and furniture design that was prominent during the post-World War II years.

Sustainable architecture is a specific kind of design which focuses on meeting the needs of these generations without compromising the needs of those generations to come. Architects from around the world have become aware of the impact that society has on the environment, and have created sustainable architecture in order to help preserve the environment, but at the same time, create comfortable spaces that are ideal for living and are aesthetically pleasing. This innovative architecture has attracted many architects from all over the world, in order to implement these new structures into every day life. Although, most post-modernist architects had been associated with modern architects in terms of training during the twentieth century, they refused most their teachers ideas. In addition, today's architects cannot deny the modern architecture ways of designing any building. Their design, for instance, has many philosophical meaning such as constructional, environmental, sociological, commercial and metaphorical meaning.

Case Study House #22 was the pioneer of building homes with glass and steel and it was also a triumphal combination of art and science. In this architecture, Glasses were used on three side of the building to form the environment of modern living style and an umbrella of steel decked roof was made to provide a covered area for the pool. [2] The whole building was designed to emphasize the openness and transparency by using these modern industrial materials.

Styles of architectural design are always changing. As time progresses, new advancements are being made to accommodate a mass society and create a utopian design that will provide for the best possible living standards. The main qualities expressed in modern buildings are how they strive to replicate the goals and ambitions of their architects and patrons in a way beneficial to society as a whole. Modernism is a term that was invented in response to the architectural movement starting around the early 20th century to explain the dramatic changes in both technology and society. It was mainly in response to the industrial revolution which created urban cities changing the way people lived and worked. Modern architecture began to experiment with more modern concepts with buildings adoption more of a machine aesthetic by adding industrially-produced materials. The grand theater Großes Schauspielhaus utilizes the style of modernism to create a building for the people incorporating new technologies to design a space befitting the changing attitudes of early 20th century German society.

One of the main elements of the condo design is color. I used color as a tool to emphasize certain materials and designs within the space. I also introduced iconic design elements of international style such as the marble wall that was showcased in the Barcelona Pavilion design by Mies van der Rohe. To keep with the growing trend of modernism in the Seattle design market, I introduced the marble wall as a floating art piece. This feature also further explore the use of visual weightless elements of The International Style. Additionally, I introduced modern aspects of the space through introduction of materials such as concrete, steel, metal, and glass. I emphasized and applied the element of line, profoundly into the design to create the illusion of space by directing the eye to linear and vertical design aspects. Thus, vernacular buildings and correspondingly settlements can be accepted as a knowledge source for sustainable building design ideas. Therefore, lessons learned from vernacular architecture can help in designing of environmentally friendly built environments. The “Five Points of Modern Architecture” was a manifesto for architecture written in 1926 by Charles-Edouard Jeanerette – better known as Le Corbusier - emphasizing what he believed were five principles that any building meant to be modern should have.
