Confidence comes naturally with success, and success comes to those who are confident. Being confident in everything that people do in life is key; it helps people succeed and keeps them positive. Merriam Webster’s defines confidence as a feeling or consciousness of one's powers or of reliance on one's circumstances. A reader should understand the meaning of what it is like to have confidence and how it will help people. Take, for example, The Book of Samuel in The Bible when David had to go up against Goliath. David had a very small chance at defeating Goliath, but he was confident and did not back down when time came; he used his slingshot and a rock and defeated Goliath. Many non-fiction readings have shown people being confident in what they do to become successful. …show more content…
Her father always was encouraging and always stood behind his daughter in every decision she made. She went to school at her father's school that he had created just for females. She spoke at many events and even went on various news and radio stations. In one of those events she said, “I am the same Malala. My ambitions are the same. My hopes are the same, and my dreams are the same….” (15). Even though with everything that has happened Malala stays confident that the solution to the problem of females having no power will work and eventually one day they will all be equal. “On the 9th of October 2012, the Taliban shot me on the left side of my forehead. They shot my friends too. They thought that the bullets would silence us. But they failed. And out of that silence came a thousand voices.” (15). Even after everything that has happened to her she can still remain confident in what she does without having a doubt in her mind that what she is doing is wrong. Malala had gotten many threats to her and her family but they had stayed confident and fought through everything that was going on and happening to
In the article, Malala the Powerful by Kristen Lewis, she described how Malala and other people ruled by the Taliban around 2007, had to follow many harsh rules ordered from the Taliban. Many people perished because of not following the religious rules. Malala stood up to the Taliban while they ruled. She did not listen to the Taliban when they said that school was banned. She courageously stood up to the Taliban but yet still got shot. She crazily survived the shooting and is still alive and going to college today. Though the Taliban created huge challenges for Malala, she survived because she stood up to the Taliban with her great courage, and is getting a better education today.
“Day or Night, my father’s courage never seemed to waver, despite receiving threatening letters as well as warnings from concerned friends.” (page 69) Malala’s father was speaking out, he knew how dangerous it was to speak out against the Taliban, because he cared so much about education. Malala’s father’s courage never changed and he was an example of a hero in Malala’s life. He was the one to influence her to become who she is
From a young age Malala has worked close with her community, since her father was an activist to make education available for all children of Swat. Since her father was an activist in their community, Malala too learned from her father and walked in his footsteps. With learning the importance of education Malala also gained wisdom. A prime example of this wisdom comes from her book when she talks about how at times she would think about what she would do if the Taliban came for her. Taking a more aggressive and physical approach Malala would then realize that would take away from her message that she would want them to hear, even if they were meant to do her harm.
Malala had many goals in her life. She had won a Noble Piece Prize. She now has an education. She won a lot of money. She donated her bloodstain jacket to someone. She is still fighting for

Her mother could not read or write because she was illiterate. Her father was an amazing speaker and he was very involved in the politics of their region. He was a teacher and he decided to open schools along with his friends and business partners. He opened up schools for both boys and girls in a time when most of the women were illiterate and had no reason to get an education because they could do much anyways. He encouraged his daughter to learn and be an independent woman rather
She was born on July 12, 1997 to a Pashtun family in the picturesque Swat Valley District of Pakistan. Ziauddin is a very influential person to Malala throughout her journey.
“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men”(Lord Acton). The novella Animal Farm is a story based off of the Russian Revolution. In the story the main character, Napoleon, represents Joseph Stalin during the time of the Russian revolution. There are many reasons why Malala Yousafzai should be considered a catalyst for change. One of them is that at a very young age Malala was courageous in order to against the Taliban and advocate for education. She not just stood up to the Taliban, but she also had to stand up against her country’s, Pakistan, lack of education and corruption system. Malala has shown that she will not be shaken or give up. With her bravery and inspiration, Malala demonstrates how women are being viewed in leadership. A documentary filmmaker named Samar Minallah who has had experience with the way women in Malala’s home have been viewed stated that Malala, “Symbolizes the brave girls of Swat,” and that “ She new her voice was important, so she spoke up for the
Malala starts telling her story from the day of her birth and how this was an unusually joyous occasion. In Pakistan the people celebrated the birth of a boy traditionally, but when a girl was born it was a day looked down upon. Malala’s birth was different because her father celebrated her birth in similar to tradition to the celebration of a boy’s birth because he felt that she was special and had a great purpose in life. She was given the name Malala, which meant grief stricken, but named after Malalai of Maiwand, a famous Pashtun poetess and warrior woman from southern Afghanistan. She then talks about how her mother and father met and how their barraged was based solely on love and not arrangement. Malala talks about her dad's more youthful life as he experienced childhood
This shows that Malala is always living in fear of being jumped and killed. There are people throughout the world that love Malala and what she does, however, she also has people that hate her and want to kill her. They will do whatever they can to kill her, which keeps her on
Malala’s Fight For Gender Equality Malala Yousafzai’s book I Am Malala depicts the struggles Malala had to face as a girl in her Taliban-run home town. She tells the story of how she began her mission fighting for women’s education, and more broadly, for women’s rights, One of the main themes she emphasized in her book is the topic of gender equality, or lack thereof, present in her culture. This is shown throughout the book, all the obstacles she faced. Her struggle for equality is evident in one quote, “ Women were banned from laughing out loud or wearing nail polish, and they were beaten or jailed for walking in without a male family member.” (p.24).
Young women from all around the world live in poverty with no hope. Many people don’t even consider this. These young women are now getting an amazing opportunity because of a young teenage girl with a dream. Malala Yousafzai born in Mingora Pakistan, achieved so much in her few years of fighting for women's rights. In America, women's rights are NOT a big issue but in other countries less fortunate, that is not the case. She has not only made a difference in the lives of young women but also she has raised awareness across the globe. Through all her tireless efforts she never gave up her dream of giving girls an education. Hope has been given to young women everywhere thanks to Malala. Miracles have been made even in the smallest of
The book “I am Malala” tells the story of eleven year old girl that campaigned and fought for woman’s rights and for the Taliban to allow them to go to school. Malala had an extremely tight nit family bond along with very supportive parents. She always had their support especially from her father Ziauddin. I believe that if I had a daughter so young that wanted to make such a big difference in her country I would stand by her one-hundred percent and push her to set out her dreams. That is exactly what her parents did, they always encouraged her to do whatever she put her mind to even now in present day.
