I will walk around the classroom taking notes about each students’ progress, while they work independently and during guided practice. On students desk there will also be colored cards to explain where each student believes they are. A green card will explain that the student understands it, a yellow card means they understand some of it, and red means they do not understand how to complete the work. Data will be kept on a chart with every students’ name. This assessment will show me where additional accommodations may need to be made; therefore, meeting the needs of students with exceptionalities. Technology in the classroom is important for teachers, parents, and students alike, because technology use has become a necessary skill for survival in today’s vastly expanding technology driven global economy. Research has shown an increase in student’s success rates when exposed to technology in the classroom. Also technology has opened lines of communication between educators and parents to keep students on track, and help teachers educate better.

The way we teach students in the modern classroom has massively changed throughout the years. One major changing factor is the development and use of technology. Before, classrooms were filled with paper, pencils, crayons, and all things needed to be completely hands on with our education. Now, most classrooms have replaced these things with tablets and laptops and smart boards that students get to spend all day staring at. Technology has the potential to be a great thing for our students, but it is being used to the point that it is no longer helpful.

Technology is everywhere, it is involved in almost every part of our culture. It affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. With technology being such a fundamental part of our lives and growing each day, it only makes sense that schools incorporate technology in the classrooms. Each year policymakers make difficult choices among attractive educational improvement options. There are many concerns about technology being incorporated in the curriculum for education, especially in early childhood. Many people are skeptical about allowing young children to be on devices such as iPads or computers at any time of the day, but it becomes even more controversial when put into the aspect of education. Our world is becoming very caught up into the life of everything going to technology and we don’t always take a step back and look at how the changes might affect the way we learn.

Imagine walking into class everyday excited to learn in different ways that does not involve the daily boring routine. A big controversy some teachers have is deciding whether or not our k-12 schools should place a greater focus on integrating technology. Although I could understand how some teachers may disagree with technology being used in class because of all the complications it can bring, I disagree. I think using technology in class can only better students in multiple ways. If schools provided students to more technology in class it can help engage student who have a difficult time enjoying school due to the daily routine teachers have accustomed with out it.
