COMPATIBILITY EVALUATION 1) The three type of skills that are most necessary for me to succeed in my position as a Development Intern at my internship site are the Enterprising, Social, and Conventional elements. My responsibility in contacting various businesses to become donors to the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS requires both leadership and communication skills. I have to effectively communicate (Social) the Center’s mission to provide HIV/AIDS services to the community in order to influence businesses to donate their goods and services to our organization (Enterprising). My responsibilites of data entry for the Development Department require me to organize data and files to ensure that daily operations run smoothly (Conventional). 2) My assessed skills match well with the requirements of my internship. My top ranked category of Social skills are vitally important to my position since effectively communicating the organization’s mission is imperative to getting potential donors. The skill I lack and need to improve on to better fulfill my job responsibilities is the Realistic skill. The Development department is in charge of running fundraising events for the organization, thus there will be a need to know how to set up and put away equipment for these events. I can improve this skill by observing and asking for …show more content…
I could assist in the coordination of volunteers by checking people in or directly people on where they should go. This way I feel accomplished in aiding the Development Department in the fundraising events. I also would get a chance to work with and bond with the Center’s volunteers. Lastly, while Income is not a high value of mine, changing my position to a paid internship would be beneficial since I now commit less hours at my part-time job in order to work at my internship
Pick two to three competencies from the listing for which you feel you currently need improvement, and describe why you feel that way.
In my child care setting, I work hard to provide all children with a safe and healthy learning environment. I research and follow strict standards available from the state related to preventing and reducing injury and illness, helping children feel safe, following sound nutrition and fitness practices, and creating an enriching learning environment.
3. What particular skills, talents and personality traits do you possess that you think will be most beneficial to this project?
Goal 1: Kimora will stabilize her mood and maintain her safety. Kimora was in a good mood when the QP met with him for a session. Kimora denied reaching out to see her biological father instead Kimora's stepmother reached out to her mother and ask if they could come for a visit. Kimora acknowledged, "I was happy to see my siblings, my father, and get my hair braided."
It is important to ensure that we meet the need of the students on every level. One effective way to do this is to observe, assess, and record children’s efforts and progress. In this way, an educator can prepare to help a child’s progression in the class. Being able to track and refer to the progress of a child helps to ensure greater levels of success. In the end, our program is only as successful as the children in our care. Record keeping can identify areas that need improvement, and allows us to teach to their strong points.
One should have conventional interest in working with activities that help promote developing skills. One should be able to follow routines and standards given to them, like to work with different kinds of data, lead and persuade others, and to make decisions that could potentially risk
Goal 1: Keegen will manage her anger and maintain her safety. Keegen appeared to be in a good mood when the QP met with her for a session. Keegen listened as the QP shared it is hard to help her when she is angry if another person doesn't know how to handle her anger or help her. Keegen commented, "you can tell in my eyes, my voice, and when I move my hands that I am angry."
In this assignment, I will be discussing three competency assessments about myself, answered by me and my associates. Haitham, my father, owns a construction company where I worked for one year after my undergrads. Muhannad, an old friend who I’ve shared countless memories with. Both assessments were answered from two different perspectives, as a friend, and as a site engineer.
Competency Statement II I selected the Outdoor Gross Motor activity “An Outdoor Carwash” to represent my philosophy on how to support a young child’s physical development. In this activity, the children use their bodies to carry water back and forth in buckets, to wash their toys, to ride their vehicles through the “car wash” as well as, washing other outdoor toys and playground equipment. Additionally, they also must grip and rinse out sponges while moving them back and forth over their vehicles and outdoor toys. This physical activity will be, not on enjoyable, but also education for preschool aged children. In this activity they are presented with the opportunity to play outside while also learning how to work together taking turns, as well as, learning to take pride in their environment.
The preceptee orientation focuses on three different aspects according to Walker, Burk & Tarka (2010).
I remain passionate and committed to my goal of improving patient outcomes through improved sleep in the intensive care unit. In reviewing my personal literacy blueprint the barriers that will potentially get in my way are in Edison’s competencies of Solution-Centered Mindset and Full-Spectrum Engagement. The opportunities for improvement in this area are to learn to write down my goals and to review them on a regular basis. My goals are established in my mind, but I need to write them down and review them regularly to keep on track with this project. I also need to be willing to experiment more, to explore different ideas, and to not hold tight to preconceived pathways and solutions which could limit my ability to find the best solutions. Another area of opportunity lies in learning to optimize my time and energy. Too often I allow myself to become bogged down in day to day tasks and forget to take the time to work on what I am passionate about and what I believe
What skills are needed in this position I am working to secure or advance in?
When teaching a whole group instruction, being aware of the lesson structure and organization is a necessity when teaching a new concept. Competency 5.2 addresses the importance of managing the classroom by having transitions within lessons and effective time management (Commission on Teacher Credentialing, 2013, p. 7). Having transitions within lessons is needed for students so they are aware of what is occurring. When transitioning within the lesson, the students know how they are moving from whole class instruction to independent work. Students are able to understand what they have learned and incorporated into their independent work.
I would like to start off by saying that I think students are worth more than the numbers that are assigned to them through standardized testing. It is difficult to look at the numbers in a grade book or the results of a standardized test and accurately gauge student intelligence, because often times the room for individual expression is very slim. More often than not, students show off their memorization skills on tests, rather than their true skills that make them unique. I believe that I am a perfect example of this. I pride myself on my social & emotional intelligence, and I am a stellar community contributor.
Core competencies are the most significant value creating skills within a company and key areas of expertise that are distinctive to a company and critical to the company's long-term growth. Core competencies are the pieces that a company is superior than its competitors in the critical, central areas of the company where the most value is added to its products. These areas of expertise may be in any area from product development to employee dedication. A competence which is central to business's operations but which is not exceptional in some way is not considered as a core competence, as it will not generate a differentiated advantage over rival businesses. It follows from the concept of core competencies; resources that are
