“I know everything; still many things I understand.” This quote was said by Mrs.Who in the movie and the book. I like the book version of “Wrinkle In Time” better than the movie. My opinion is that the book is better than the movie because it explains the importance of Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who in helping the main characters, it details Meg saving Charles Wallace better, and it gives a better description of the characters. One reason I like the book better is because the Mrs. W’s are really helpful to Meg, Calvin, and Charles Wallace. They always give them tips whenever they need them. They also helped them find Charles and Meg’s father. They also were really kind to them. Whenever Meg needed help, Mrs.Which, Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit
Comparing the book to the movie you can clearly tell what certain things are different. For example, Sydelle Pulaski worked for Mr. Westing in the movie but only talked over the intercom. This not only caused a lot of drama but more depth to the plot. Also, Crow didn’t go to jail but they did talk about most of the consequences of her going to jail. This made a little bit more serious and emotional instead of just letting it go.
The first difference is the point of view. In the movie, the story is in Turtle’s point of view which makes it harder to understand the whole story. The book is in 3rd person point of view. Although the book is in 3rd person, it still has thoughts from the characters. The movie only has thoughts from Turtle and that makes it hard to understand.
First of all, the book has a better plot as it goes into a good amount of detail as the movie doesn't really have much detail “As I sat there in the silence, the fire grew larger, it cracked and popped. Firelight shadows began to shimmer and dance around the room.”
Many people may agree that the movie was better, but personally, i think the book was better. The book let your imagination go wild, but the movie just held your imagination back by showing you the scene on a screen. Unlike the movie, the book gave a more vivid description of “The Tell Tale Heart” by telling you every single detail. That is why I think the book was more enjoyable to read instead, of watching the movie.
The movie had the power to paint a picture your mind. But it didn't have that information that the book had. The movie didn't have the explaining that the
I enjoyed the book more than the movie because it gave more time and detail into the story. The movie felt like it moved really fast, forgetting many of the important parts that were shown in the book. The book flowed nicely, giving the reader a chance to feel like they are in the story, but the movie didn’t give me a chance to understand these characters. I feel like if I watched the movie first, I would not understand the characters and their emotions as much as when I read the book first. Finally, I would have included the daughters of Mary and Mary Day more in the movie. Without it, it would be harder for the watcher to understand what the purpose of them is. All in all, I enjoyed the book much more than the movie due to its amount of detail and spacing of
The Wrinkle In Time there are some difference and similarities between the book and the movie it is that the character are not that much more alike in the movie than in the book and the part in the movie is not like the book. The Wrinkle In Time is by Madeleine L’Engle. A summary about the book is that Meg tries to find her dad and She has a brother named Charles and he is very special and they go on a journey to find their dad and in the beginning their was a boy that thy meet and his name was Calvin
The movie was more interesting than the book because it helped me visualize the story. Most of the more exciting scenes from the movie are not in the book, this is why I like the movie more than the book.
However, if this was a review, and I had to be unbiased, I would have to admit that the book is much better. The movie cannot be as detailed as the book, and reading the book is a whole other story than seeing the movie. What you don’t get to experience when watching the movie is the different points of view. The viewpoint switches from person to person. This allows for more insight to be shed on some of the lesser characters throughout the book.
And Then There Were None and A Wrinkle In Time has some similarities and differences within the movies and the books. And Then There Were None has the same concept, people are invited to the Owens’ house, there are 10 guests on the island. A Wrinkle In Time has the same concept as well, Meg and Charles Wallace are out trying to find their father.
The book is better because it gives more excitement and emotion. The book just explains each of the events in great detail. I don’t know about other people, but for me the more information there is, the more I understand it. And in the movie of “The Outsiders”, it does not really say much about what’s going on. For instance, when Johnny dies, in the movie, Ponyboy goes home but it does not tell how long he had been out. In the book, Pony is walking home from the hospital and a man asked him if he wanted a ride (Hinton 151). Though others might think that the movie is better because it visualizes the events that are happening. But, even though it envisions what the book tells about does not mean that it is one hundred percent better.
The 3 major differences that were seen are the shattering of the conch, the pilot’s presence, and Ralph’s attitude towards Piggy. Due to these major differences the novel left a greater impact on its readers than the movie on its viewers. Seeing the movie and as well reading the book, personally the book was a better. The book has a very different approach of that showed these 3 major differences to their full extent. Out of the two though, I would choose the book as more pleasant and
In my opinion, the movie was a lot better than the book. There was a couple scenes in both the book and the movie I enjoyed. The movie was much easier to understand. The movie and the book had many differences. During the movie, Mia was a whole different person than she was in the book.
As Mrs. Who said, “For that he was a spirit too delicate To act their earthy and abhorr’d commands, Refusing their grand hests” The story I will be talking about is called A Wrinkle in time and it is about a girl named Meg her brother Charles and a friend named Calvin. They decide to go find megs dad who had been missing for years with the help of Mrs. Who, Whatsit and Which who were warriors who helped the universe. I believe the book is more powerful because first it has better descriptive words and that helps you visualize it unlike a movie also the book is longer and has more in it than the movie.
Additionally, the three fantastic women, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which are acutely needed for this entire book to happen. In Chapter 5, Mrs. Whatsit says, “We are asking you to do a difficult thing, but we are confident that you can do it. Your father needs help, he needs courage, and for his children he may be able to do what he cannot do for himself” (68). The three women are important because without them Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin would not have been sent to another planet and have saved their father. Without Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, this story would not have been a story and there would be absolutely no conflict at all.
