Evolutions of civilizations can occur because of differences in people’s religion, culture, or geographic setting of the settlement. The relationship between the world of the gods and that of men was perceived differently by the Sumerians, Egyptians, and Hebrew ancient civilizations. This is demonstrated by the way each group viewed the process of creation. They had different thoughts on the creation of their gods, the universe and of man. This essay will discuss the relationship between humans and their gods in three different ancient civilizations: Sumerian, Egyptian and Hebrew.

The 1500’s were a time that had much religious turmoil in the old world and people began to divide themselves into different sects away fro the Roman Catholic Church. The reason for this is because people began to realize how corrupted the Roman Catholic Church actually was and that what the church taught wasn’t in the bible but it was made to benefit the pope and other high level church officials. The two main branches or sects of the R.C.C are the Church of England (Anglicanism) and the Lutheran church (Lutheranism).

Late 16th century, there was reform movement that asking for renovation (reform) of Roman Catholic Church, called ‘Reformation’. In earnest, the reformation was started by Martin Luther; also he translated the bible into German so that many people could understand the contents, then produced the bible massively by using Gutenberg’s printing press. And he asserted reformation by saying that Roman Catholic Church was corrupted. One of the reasons was selling indulgence, which people believed that if they bought it then the god would forgive their sins. By selling indulgence, the church earned a lot of money, but people’s painful life didn't changed.

This break away from the church began with an event called the Protestant Reformation. The Protestant Reformation started with a German monk named Martin Luther. Martin Luther nailed 95 theses onto a catholic church door complaining about the church’s corrupt practices of selling indulgences. Martin Luther’s complaints inspired many other people to protest, thus creating the Protestant religion. The world of the ancient Near East believed in a creator deity as member within a plethora of deities; that is, there was no supreme being. The indigenous tribes of North America have much in common with the indigenous religions of Africa but there are also many differences in the belief of an afterlife, supreme deity, and the daily practices of each. Today many of these lesser known religions are hardly ever studied but they exist and are still practiced all over North America and Africa. We will discuss how these religions differ in their main beliefs and practices, and we will also discuss how they correlate with one another on smaller aspects.

He was profoundly influenced by the philosophical treatise Horentsius, written by the Roman statesman, Marcus Tullius Cicero. When questioning his parents’ religion, he was particularly drawn to Manichaeism, also known as the Manichees. Manichaeism is a dualistic philosophical religion based on a God of Good and a God of Evil. This religion, at first, seemed to correspond to most of the plausible hypothesis’s Saint Augustine created to conclude a philosophical and ethical system. The Manichees claimed to have found contradictions in Holy Writ, also known as the Bible. He was so astonished by this he couldn’t help but dedicate his time and study’s to the book of the Manichees. The Manichees believed that there was contradiction in the scriptures of the Bible. They did not believe that the earth and the human race were created as it was written in Genesis. But when Saint Augustine questioned the Manichees concerning the movements of the stars, none of them could answer him. Disappointed, Saint Augustine turned skeptic about the religion and so he left the Manichees.
