Most Dangerous Game compare and contrasting traits
In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Rainsford and Zaroff have many things in common and many things that make them different. In the story both of the two men are good hunters and athletic. But they aren’t the same in how sane they are Rainsford is much more sane then Zaroff. One way that both of them are similar is that they both like to hunt. Rainsford hunts normal things “we should have some good hunting up the amazons. Great sport hunting”. This reveals that Rainsford loves to hunt but isn’t hunting ridiculous animals. Zaroff also likes to hunt “I read your book about hunting snow leopards in Tibet” shows that he knows a lot about hunting just like Rainsford. The mood at the start is an uneasy mood and he shows more intelligence by the way he swam in the correct directions of gun shots. …show more content…

The general said to Rainsford that there is one animal that can reason , “But you can’t mean –-” gasped Ransford .This quote shows he is freaked out by the hunting of other humans for fun and still has a grip on what is right and wrong. It also shows he has no means of right or wrong and is just losing his mind. He thinks that since it’s his island it’s his rules so he does insane things as he pleases. The mood in the story toward the middle is that he’s worried and he as a result becomes more aware of what is happing to him and how Zaroff wants to hunt
