Compare And Contrast Martin Luther King Jr Vs Malcolm X

Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X were both famous people in history who have helped many black people through their Civil Rights protesting against segregation, but both of them had different ways of approaching what they wanted to achieve and succeed in. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a more peaceful approach whilst Malcolm X had a more somewhat ‘violent’ approach, but overall, who offered a more beneficial program of Civil Rights? Everyone has his or her own thoughts, but I believe that Martin Luther King was somewhat more successful than Malcom X. I find that Martin Luther King, Jr. had offered a better program of Civil Rights than Malcolm X had because of the way he got his messages across to the people about segregation.

Everyone remembered Martin happily, whilst most people tried to neglect Malcolm, so to speak. This was because Malcolm X often chose violence as a way to solve the issues and problems he faced, as he believed that this was the only way to resolve the problems of race. He was also often tagged with his quote “equality by any means necessary!” which meant that he’d do anything posssible to achieve equality, along with his extremist ways which often appealed to many Blacks whom lived in poor country areas. But how did Malcolm X actually assist in the program of civl rights? There are many examples, but one significant event that would have to be one of the nations largest civil rights events is the Unity Rally in Harlem (June 29th, 1963). He focused on giving out his speech in Harlem because of the great population of Black people, as he needed all the support he could get. During this gathering, Malcolm X’s aim was to bring together all blacks regardless of their religious background or social class. He believed that unification between his African American people was one of the most significant steps in gaining what he saw as “Perfect Freedom.” Throughout this speech Malcolm x was able to achieve many things, including strengthening his links with other civil rights leaders, yet many view some of Malcolm X’s
