“ I walk slowly, but I never walk backwards.” Abraham Lincoln.
Hillary would have been a better choice for president than Trump because she has a better image and she is more qualified to be president than Trump. One reason she’s qualify to be the president of the United States is because she graduated from the top of her class in Yale. She was one of the 27 women that graduated top of her class in Yale of the 235 students in 1973. On the other hand, Donald Trump has a degree in
In economics but he didn’t graduated with honors or had ever done well in Wharton or any other colleges. Also, Hillary has more experience in politics and the government because she was the 67th United States Secretary of States, she was the First Lady,
Presidential elections have existed in the United States for almost as long as the nation itself. Our first President, President George Washington, won the first presidential election in 1789. Although the voting process has been modified tremendously since the first election, the electoral college system remains our country’s way of collecting the nations votes. In this upcoming 2016 presidential election, I will practice my right as a United States citizen to vote. I have done extensive research on a couple of candidates and feel confident in my knowledge on their views on important issues that have been addressed in our country. The purpose of this paper is to compare presidential candidates, Ben Carson and
To start with let us take a look at the positions of both candidates. Hilary Clinton is a democrat who announced her bid for presidency in an email to donors from her campaign chairman John Podesta on April 12, 2015 which was followed shortly thereafter with an official campaign video titled “Getting Started”. Clinton has served as the secretary of state of the United States of America and as a New York senator. Her stance on the national budget generally leads to an increase in spending and her stance on the second amendment is to increase the amount of control on the buying and selling of firearms. Clinton supports the equality of gay-marriage to “traditional marriage” saying, “I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples. I support it personally and as a matter of policy and law embedded in a broader effort to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans and for all Americans. ”[1] Which differs from Trumps belief that marriage is between a man and
On November 8th, 2016, the United States will finally have its presidential election for the 45th President of the United States of America. This election will be a grating race between a number of political parties and their respective nominees. Two parties are more notable than the others, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The Democratic Party has a well-known nominee; Hillary Clinton, who has served as secretary of state, and has been the senator of New York, she has also been the first lady of the U.S while her husband, former president Bill Clinton was in office (Hillary For America). Mrs. Hillary Clinton is mainly a candidate for president because of her experience and great attributes. Alongside Clinton is Mr. Donald J. Trump, who is the respective presidential nominee for the Republican Party. Donald Trump is a well-known billionaire real estate personnel, who rose up to his status due to his great business intellect (Donald Trump Biography). In like matter, there are other nominees for president; however, Trump and Clinton are the two that are most significant and one if not the other will eventually overtake the position as President of the United States. Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are formidable
Hilary plans on increasing taxes on the upper-class and not the middle-class. She will also make sure college students have a low interest rate on their loans. Hilary will discourage companies from moving out of the country to save on taxes. She will make childcare more affordable in terms of the parents not paying more than 10% of their income. On the other hand, Trumps plan will favor the wealthy and they will be the ones with the most savings. Trump has also stated he will tax the products coming in so the jobs won’t leave the U.S. He also wants to eliminate estate tax allowing even the wealthiest people to pass their assets to heirs without being taxed when a certain income budget is met.
With the presidential election coming to a close on this Tuesday, November 8th, the research that was gathered in class, allowed a new insight into which candidate was best suited for the job. Each candidate in this election, both have very different view points on each important topic going on in our country today, allowing voters to see the complete complexity of this election. For example, topics including gun control, the pay gap situation and abortion allowed myself, as a voter, to gain knowledge about each candidates position on the topic and which candidate I believed was my ideal one for presidency. In this election, I believe Hilary Clinton is the best candidate for presidency.
Some pros to Hillary Clinton are that she has worked as a politician most of her life and has experience in both the White house and in the lower parts of the U.S.
Here are some compare and contrasts of Hillary and Donald. (Hillary first page, Donald second page.)
Hillary Clinton should have won the election for a variety of reasons. One reason that she should have won was that she is much more qualified as a president. Hillary graduated from Yale law school, worked on the presidential campaigns of three different presidential nominees, was named one of the 100 most powerful lawyers by the National Law Journal, and lastly she served as Senator of New York, and Secretary of State. This supports how Hillary is more qualified because she’s had lot’s of time gaining experience in politics, where she learned all about how our country works and it has prepared her to be a more qualified president. In fact, she has had more time in politics than Melania Trump has been alive!
Ultimately, I believe Clinton should have gone to the whitehouse for various reasons. Clinton has been in office before and even the White House when Bill Clinton was president. Donald Trump has never been in office and is merely a businessman and has shown you can be elected president without political experience and if you just promise change, whether you follow through or not. This was shown in our class the mock election in a way as well. Although, many people believed the orange party candidate won the debate, the purple party candidate won by a landside, likely just because he offered change.
Upon graduation, Senator Fulbright recommended that Clinton undertake the difficult process of applying for the Rhodes scholarship and the opportunity to attend Oxford University in London, England. He was one of 62 applicants to be accepted into the program. After his tenure at Oxford, Clinton attended Yale University where he received his degree in Law. (William Jefferson Clinton, n.d) His impeccable scholastic achievements, as well as the numerous scholarships and degrees he received as a university student support the claim of genius.
Both women had different college career paths. Hillary first attracted national attention in 1969 for her remarks as the first student commencement speaker at Wellesley College.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A., she attended Wellesley College, then earning a J.D. (Juris Doctor) from Yale Law School in 1973. This hardworking presidential candidate is a woman who’s been fighting for children and families for over forty years. Someone who has provided her best works in reaching over the limits of a woman and providing millions of children with health care. This person is Hillary Clinton, and these are the only some of the biggest accomplishments she has made during her lifetime, there can and will be more if she gets voted as President of the United States of 2016-2020. She has been through many experiences in government, such as being an American lawyer and politician, U.S.
Hillary Clinton has worked in politics for years and has an understanding of how the world of politics works this is something that Trump being the man that is not a politician can not possibly offer to the same extent as Hillary can. She has more knowledge of the White House than Trump does from her experiences she has had there. Her husband was President before and can throw in and help out with her time in the white house.
Obama had begun his schooling at the Noelani Elementary School in 1966 and finished kindergarten there in 1967. He then attended St. Francis Assisi for his 1st through 3rd grade years which were 1968-1970. Once there Obama graduated with a major in Political Science in 1983. He then attended Harvard Law School in 1988 where he excelled as a student and graduated magna cum laude which means with high honors and even winning the election for president of the Harvard Law Review for the academic year of 1990-1991. Hillary Clinton attended Eugene Field Elementary School in Park Ridge, illinois from
Currently, the Presidency of the United States is coming close to the final and whoever gets elected president is an accomplished liar. Both of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are using the political skills to argue because their major party candidates for president have to appear to be fully qualified to occupy the Oval Office. After watching of these videos of both Hillary and Trump’s speech, in my opinion, I analyze three types of informal fallacies from their speeches such as argument against the person, hasty generalization, and appeal to people; especially, appeal to vanity.
