Compare And Contrast Battle Royale

Fortnite Battle Royale (Fortnite) and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) are both battle royale based games. The term “battle royale” refers to many players fighting each other until only one is left standing. Both are similar games, but there are still enough differences to differentiate between the better gameplay. Those differences include the games’ different maps, graphics, and weapons and items. Although being similar, there are enough differences in the two games to tell that Fortnite has the overall better gameplay.

The Fortnite map is much smaller than both of PUBG’s maps. Fortnite’s smaller map size makes it much easier to travel around and make it to the safe zone fairly easily. PUBG, on the other hand, is much harder to traverse. If a player were to make an unlucky choice and parachute to a portion of the map where the safe zone was far from, then they would either have to find a vehicle to take them or sprint across the map to the safe zone. Either way, players may not have as much time to loot on PUBG if they are pressured on time to make it to the safe zone. The structures of the maps on the two games are also very different. Fortnite is a big island, with a lake in the center, and a river running through it. For the most part, a player won’t be travelling through much water that would slow them down. PUBG’s Erangel, however, has multiple islands and bodies of water to cross over. Overall, the Fortnite map provides higher advantage points with its wide variety of hills, but also enough cover to be able to hide behind. PUBG’s maps fall short of Fortnite’s well thought out map (Fortnite vs PUBG, 2018.)
Fortnite also takes the win in which game has better graphics. Fortnite is much easier to run than PUBG and scores better in performance. Also, PUBG has a much darker, militaristic vibe to it, while Fortnite is a much more colorful, cartoonish type of game. Of course, people are easier to spot in a colorful environment rather than blending into the browns and greys of PUBG.
