Playing basketball and watching it are two different things, there are some similarities but very few. When you’re playing basketball you’re apart of the team and involved in what’s going on, whereas when you’re watching it you are just cheering for the team. A way they are alike is that they both have the same amount of break/quarters. When you actually play basketball you get exhausted because you’re running up and down the court, when you watch it you don’t get tired because you’re not doing any type of physical activities. Playing and watching are alike in a way that both the players and fans are both nervous, because so much can happen in 4 quarters the game can go either way but they don’t want their team to lose. Lastly a way they are
Baseball and basketball are both very fun sports to play. They are both similar in a few ways, like playing the sport and the teams. First, the teams are similar. The first official basketball game was played with nine players on each side. This practice stopped when football teams would come in for the winter and split up into equal teams.
While the NBA may seem more fun to watch because of its pro players, the NCAA has intense games as well as amazing rivalries. The NBA has a very long season of 82 games in every season while the NCAA can play a maximum limit of 31 games a season, making every game count for them as for the pros they have many games to make up for a loss. College basketball is better to watch than the NBA because every season game counts for them, the rivalries are worth watching, and their season is shorter and way faster.
While I prefer to watch football on television, I would much rather attend a basketball game in person. The intimate environment provides a great atmosphere for watching a game. The roar of the crowd being amplified by the walls of the arena makes the sounds of an open football stadium pale in comparison. When combining the electric atmosphere with continuous action, going to a basketball game never disappoints. Since basketball is known as a “game of runs,” the feeling that no lead is ever safe adds to the tension in the air during important games.
Baseball and basketball have somethings alike, But as well some things different. One difference is that Baseball has a bat and basketball has a hoop. Another difference is that in basketball you have to make a basket and in Baseball you take turn batting and you have to get to base.
There are many similarities and differences between pro basketball and college. There are many different rules between pro and college level. The NBA consist of 32 professional teams, but the college level has 347 division 1 schools that develop players and make them grow into being a professional athlete. When coming out of high school, you get to choose what school you want to play for. Most athletes pick the biggest school with the biggest fan base. That way these players will be noticed and scouted before going pro. The professional level is completely different because you enter the draft. You don't get to choose where or who you play for after the draft.
There are many sports out in the world but I find the two that are the most interesting is Football and Basketball. Both basketball and football have a lot of similarities that tie them together but they have a lot of differences as well. These are both great and they both require a lot of physical and mental strength they are also both on television for the world to see and these sports are for people that are competitive and the way of winning and how the conditions are for each of these sports.
In preparation for my pitch I found myself nervously thinking about the presentation. Being that I am a shy person being in front of people and talking was definetly nerve wracking. Beside that I found more useful information that will help my topic. While presenting my pitch you talked about "piktochart" which I need to research a little. My audience is people who watch basketball but not the NBA or the playoffs for that matter. My purpose is to teach those who would like to learn about the playoffs and how it functions. My topic again is the NBA playoffs. I will be explaining the playoffs through a prezi.
Basketball means more than simply the act of playing for me, I often use it as a social crutch and to escape from the real world for a while. Meeting new people has always been a struggle, and I attribute that to my shyness during social situations. Shooting hoops is to me as golf is to numerous adults. It’s a fantastic way to establish yourself with people without feeling pressured to keep a conversation flowing. As a result, while playing basketball, awkward silences become just silences, because nobody’s primary focus is on the discussion. I actually thrive socially when I’m not being pushed to conduct a lengthy conversation. Loads of acquaintances have turned into long term friends through shooting hoops, and to this day, whenever I need to familiarize myself with someone I suggest playing a little ball.
Basketball is the best sport in the nation. It was created by a Canadian man named James Naismith and he was a PE teacher. The first basketball goals were peach baskets and they played in cages made of chicken wire and mesh. At the beginning of basketball, they used soccer balls before actual basketballs were created. They also did not dribble a lot at the beginning of basketball, they would catch the ball and take a couple of steps to slow down or stop. Since then the game of basketball has changed greatly, no one is no longer playing in cages with wires, and the game requires a lot of athleticism and ability. The game is very entertaining and fast-paced. When watching basketball you have to stay engaged in the game or you just might miss
Have you ever look at someone and assumed they play a sport or they’re an athlete? Well that’s what 90% of people do when they look at me. Pretty judgmental and bold but there’s not much that I can really do about it because well... they aren’t wrong. I am an athlete, but I don’t just play a sport I live a lifestyle.
Basketball was a new experience to me a few years ago, but i never realized I was going to love it. When I was younger, I’ve always wanted to play the sport of basketball, and I got my opportunity to play when I was in fifth grade at Monte Vista Elementary.
Running into the gym with my team, knowing it was my last middle school basketball game, but first championship game I felt elated and truly blessed. My knees quivered with anticipation after seeing all the bleachers filled with people. After realizing even the press and other media was in attendance I grasped the moment like a newly elected president at his inauguration. I am warming up doing basketball drills, when I began to look at the flags on the gym wall depicting the history of the basketball team. The years and dates of the last championship game, Historically a championship game had not been won since 2007 . The more I stared at the flags, the more it made me want to win this game and make history in this gym. As the crowd and cheerleaders start to chant, cheer and get loud, I started to feel more comfortable and rowdy more than I had ever felt in any other game that I’ve played. Waiting for the referee to blow the whistle for jumpall to start. I felt my fingertips tapping the side of my leg, which for some reason gives me a sign to myself that I am pumped up and ready to play!
The review topic I will be doing is about the difference between watching a game live vs. watching it on T.V. As any sports fan would say, there really is no better place to experience a big game than at the stadium. Although, there really is no worse place to watch a big game than at the stadium. Both good and bad, there really is nothing like being at the game. Fans believe they have to watch a game on TV because they miss too much by actually being there. As crazy as that sounds, they might be right. Without the cameras that zoom in things that would never have been seen is a bis aspect to this. Money is starting to be a bigger affect to going to the game or not. Not to mention the food prices at these games are insane. Also if you watch the game at home you can change the channel during a commercial and watch another game. Plus whats better than watching the game while laying on your favorite couch? Each option has ups and downs, they could each be wanted or not by one person or the other. (Dan Levy)
I'm a varsity basketball player at Bremen Highschool located in the suburbs of Chicago. I have been playing basketball my entire life and take the game very serious. I grew a love for this sport from watching my uncle play when he was in highschool, attending every game. I didn't start playing at an organized level until the age of 8 and I've stuck with it since. Playing basketball is my favorite thing to do; it keeps me in shape and is a stress reliever as well. When I'm in the gym I get very creative when it comes to working on my craft, thinking of different ways to improve my game.
It was late December with snow sprinkling down from the clouds covering the roads. George was at morning practice for basketball prepping for the game he had the next night.
