International business transactions now play a part in our daily lives. There are four common types of international business. First, the can of Coke we drink may be distributed by the worldwide licensee which has signed the intellectual property with the licensor. Next, a Big Mac you eat is provided by a premier worldwide franchising enterprise. Specifically, a franchise can use the supplier’s trademark and provide the supplier’s products. Another type of international business is Joint venture in which MNE and local companies work together and share profits and risks such as Sony and Philips. Finally, a subsidiary is company owned and controlled by parent company such as limited liability, government or state-owned enterprise (Wild & Wild, 2014).
Acquiring knowledge about international business can help you have many job opportunities whether you work in marketing, finance, accounting, banking or business development.
