ABC Inc. is a small Midwest company priding themselves on their timely service and high quality products. ABC Inc. is planning to expand in the summer. Boosting their production lines to output more merchandise can only be done with a larger workforce. For the company to expand ABC turns to their Operations Supervisor Monica Carrols to help with this change. Monica is a veteran with ABC and is the most qualified for the task at hand. With Monica heading the operations and Carl Robins under her management, they should achieve extraordinary things.

Sending two to three trainees a day to the clinic should do the trick. When Carl contacts the trainees, he personally can receive their application and see to it that the trainees transcripts are on file. With Joe from technology services scheduling the training room for the whole month of June; Carl could simply move the Orientation to a different room on the grounds or move the orientation to a different location all together. As for Monica, Carl can contact her with his little problem if he feels it is a little too much for him to handle. Monica could be a great tool for Carl to use because she is his boss she should know how to help him with his little dilemma. Also she is his boss she should be kept in the loop.
Conclusion
With Carl acting out some of these solutions. Carl could pull himself out of the trouble he has stumbled into. With a little more Leadership and guidance from Monica, Carl could be a key player in the expansion of ABC Inc. Teamwork should take ABC Inc. to new

Many of the problems that Carl has found concerning the new employee orientation could have been avoided. Carl is a recently hired employee himself. He should have kept up with the progress of the new employee orientation and checked on the files for the applicants. ABC, Inc. should also have made sure that their new employee was capable of doing his job efficiently. If Carl had stayed on top of his project, the problems that he faced would not have occurred.
The common perception of a recruiter is evolving quickly in the workplace (Boswell 2001). Where once recruiters were viewed as a tool to simply acquire candidates, modern recruiters have greater responsibilities to their clients. These responsibilities can include tasks such as organizing paperwork, completing pre-screening measures, and even occasionally preparing training curriculum (Darrell 2002). Recruiters are further expected to provide quality screening of candidates and ensure the optimal match for each applicable position within a company (Posner 2006). As with any other job within a company, recruiters must take this work seriously and avoid procrastination to ensure a smooth transition for their candidates into the new workplace. Should the transition fail to be smooth, the full blame modernly falls on the recruiter who failed to use proper coordinating strategy.

If Parkland wants to achieve the aggressive growth that the board desires his ability to improve the capabilities and the operations of the company will be one of his greatest barriers. Due to the affluent nature of the customers and the possible variety in the product Parkland should focus on improving the company’s organizational capabilities. A new plant will eventually be needed but that decision can be delayed if Charles can streamline its operations. Parkland needs to institute policies that will measure productivity and develop an accurate method of forecasting sales. This will result in lower inventory carrying costs, fewer out of stock issues, and fewer backorders that need to be filled. If Charles can reduce the number of back orders and out-of-stock products it can focus on a single product line at a time which will reduce the frequency of expensive switching costs.
Dan Stella, Monica’s boss was passive yet overall supportive of Monica. However his communications to her were interpreted as vague and while he supported her he did not coach Monica on building relationships and garnering buy-in from key parties and stakeholders prior and during the project. Dan was a hands-off leader who would benefit greatly from project success.
Macy's Inc. is one of the nation's largest and well known department store chains. Started over 150 years ago, Macy's has continually generated excellent returns for its shareholders and employees. Currently, in the midst of a global recession, Macy's has generated huge profits with same store sales increasing 5.3% year to date. In 2012 same store sales increased 4.6% in the month of February alone (Macy's Inc., 2012). In fact, throughout the duration of 2012, Macy's is projecting even larger profits for its underlying business operations. Even though Macy's has experienced success with both its assortments and brand, its competitors haven't faired so well. Sears, due in part to part to a lackluster holiday season, has been forced to close nearly 120 locations to generate excess liquidity in an effort to shore up its balance sheet (Isidore, 2011).Other competitors who cater specifically to the middle class consumer have also lost significant amounts of market share as consumers trade down due to the economy. The Rose Company is building a new plant to reduce cost, improve the quality of products, and maintain competitive leadership by gaining a slight production advantage. The main obstacles to be overcome are the commissioning of a new plant, new methods and process, and administrative reporting issues.
