Gaining maturity is something that happens over time. A “coming of age” occurs at a certain mentality, not a certain age. It’s the exposure to life’s experiences that makes the greatest impact to maturity; such as the experiences within an upbringing and decisions made. Maturity has minimal reliance on age. Above all else, being raised properly is a crucial factor of advancement and development; which includes personal influences. For instance, children that are raised by adults who are mature, often learn mature personality traits. Pampered children, commonly, do not learn responsibility; which can prolong immaturity. Most kids look up to their parents, so when adults are conscientious and do the right thing, kids often follow in their lead.
The Theme of Coming of Age in Literature There comes a time is each person's life when they reach the point where they are no longer children, but adults. The transition from a child into a young adult is often referred to as the 'coming of age,' or growing up. The time when this transition occurs is different in everyone, since everyone is an individual and no two people are alike. Certain children reach this stage through a tragic, painful event which affects them to such extent that they are completely changed.
I do not believe that age has anything to do with maturity. I believe that the experiences someone has makes them mature;in addition, I also believe that what a person has been through has a lot to do with it.
I believe maturity is not dependent on a person’s age because humans are affected by different situations, are different genders and are raised differently.
It was an awesome book by Enid Blyton. This book is set in Scotland and certainly has a Scottish feel to it, with its mountains, castles and golden eagles, though the country is not specified until The Mountain of Adventure, when Jack recalls observing an eagles' nest at a castle in Scotland. It is the Easter holidays and Jack, Philip, Dinah and Lucy-Ann are on holiday with Mrs Mannering at Spring Cottage, which is set on a hill below a castle. Out on the hillside they meet Tassie, a local girl who lives in a tumble-down cottage with her mother and is allowed to run wild. Tassie cannot read or write but has a deep knowledge of animals and the countryside. She is excellent at climbing, sure-footed and has a good sense of direction, relying on
maturity is a complex concept, only activated and defined by the experiences that one endures. In other words, as a child, we begin life as naive individuals but as time progresses our lives are influenced by our exposure to significant events, the people that we encounter and the consequences that we learn. Slowly we surpass into higher levels of consciousness that can ultimately represent the stages of maturation. Society attempts to artificially provoke this coming of age using physical time in order to dictate the level of maturity that should be attained by the individual at different stages in their lives. Coming of age is an natural process and will only truly occur when the individual awakens from the unconscious state of candor.

Age plays a role in maturity, but it is not the main contributing factor. Maturity is measured by experiences and one’s reaction to the experiences they are given. While there is a correlation between maturity and age, it is not a defining factor.
Everyone has a different concept of beauty. Philosophy expert, Andrea Borghini says, “Beauty is one of the most fascinating riddles of philosophy” (Borghini). Throughout life a person's concept of beauty changes many times. Scott Westerfeld demonstrated how people’s concept of beauty changes several times in the book The Uglies. After examining the book, it has become clear that to come of age a person must go through three main stages of beauty; innocent beauty, experimental beauty, and mature beauty.

When these teens and children are in this phase of constant change it helps them to become mature by recognizing new and different perspectives by realizing that not everyone is exactly like them.

I think that social workers wouldn’t understand the emerging adulthood as it’s new and different. Arnett stated that in Emerging adulthood that young people are still experiencing where they try new things that involves love and work without having lasting plans. Young people are still uncertain what they want at the age of 25 with we all know marriage is not the case. My boyfriend who I dated since high school thought that we should get married, but I knew in my mind that there was no way possible we were ready. Although, we shared a child to together, neither of us was ready or stable. I agree, with Arnett that most adults that’s in between age 18-25 isn’t yet ready for adult hood. At the age 30 most adults are more certain of what they want
