My goal for the remainder of highschool is for the varsity basketball team to make the playoffs both this year and next year. Basketball has been my favorite sport and hobby my entire life. I have dedicated every spring and fall to AAU (club basketball), and every winter to either the town team, middle school team, freshman team, JV team, and now varsity team. Basketball has always been a huge part of my life. I have made friendships through basketball, met and worked with professional coaches and players. Basketball has taken me to places that I never thought I would go. I am incredibly competitive and I have put so much time and work into basketball, and because of this, making the playoffs is my goal for the remainder of highschool. The …show more content…
When I am playing chess or a board game, I will refuse to lose. For me, winning is the best. During basketball, I never really care how I am personally playing, whether or not I have a lot of points, or even if I don’t play a lot. The only thing that I am paying attention to is the scoreboard. It's not that I want to win just for my personal satisfaction, but it is also about representing the town of Wayland. I know most of the kids from the other towns that we are going to play. We grew up playing against each other in Metrowest basketball and AAU, and I have also played with a lot of them in AAU. Now, that we are on the biggest stage of our basketball career, it is time to show them what we are made of. For example, we played Weston every year in Metrowest, and played them for the metrowest championship in 8th grade. I personally know everyone on their team, and whenever we play, it is extra competitive. The Wayland soccer team won a state championship this fall and in 2014, the wrestling team always goes nearly undefeated and has won a few state championships in the past years, the swimming team is always really good, and the golf team won a state championship last year. The point is, Wayland High School always has great sports teams. Us players representing the basketball team want to show the rest of the school, as well as the entire state, that we can be up there as a top tier sports team. We all love to win, and this winter, we will try

Avid college basketball fans refer to it as NCAA March Madness. Because it is a one-and-done, single elimination format, it’s packed with excitement. Adding to the intrigue are the smaller schools, known as Cinderella’s, who endear themselves to the hearts of college basketball fans. Former Ohio State University coach Harold Olsen initiated the idea back in 1939.

When looking at NCAA division programs, one will notice different factors that make it that type of division. These factors all have to be considered when an athletic administrator is looking to move their program up or down in divisions. These decisions are crucial to the university because the outcome can have a positive or negative effect on more than just the athletic staff. One thing an administrator needs to look at is the athletic competition for that university. This is important, because you want to be able to compete at that type of level. You don’t want to waste time and money on a team that can’t compete at the division’s level. Another factor you have to look at is the amount of people. This is important because you need the right amount of staff and people in general to help the program function, whether that be coaches, game-day operators, or fans bringing in revenue. Money is another factor; without money the program won’t survive. Without money, the programs won’t have the means to succeed.

With how many sporting events that there are in this country, it is common to see fans that love multiple games. Professional sports are typically favored by most followers, but there is a clear deficiency that hurts the leagues. Professional sports are exhilarating if one is a fan of a playoff team or especially a team that wins championships on a regular basis. While this is great for traditional powerhouses and teams with endless amounts of money, the majority of teams in these leagues serve as punching bags for years or even multiple decades. There is a fine line between these teams and other organizations that struggle just to make financial ends meet. Teams in financial
It was a hot summer day in Harlem, the basketball courts were loud and loaded. The event every little infant, to up and coming middle school players, high school stars, and some past NBA players found pleasure in. In second grade I met this kid who would smile and laugh at everything and better yet, he played basketball. Since my dad was the basketball coach my team, and he needed another player on the team. He asked Ethan to if he wanted to join the team and Ethan said why not. Ethan was an Asian kid, who was always bigger than everyone else, and would be the nicest person you would meet.
During the summer time right after school got out Sara M. would come and sleepover at each others house lot. She basically lived with me for the Month of June and July. We would usually stay at my house because I lived on pewaukee lake so there would be a lot more things to do. We would go swimming, jump out the windows, poked a hole in my brother, crashed a birthday party, road the electric scooters in the house but my mom didn't know and went shopping with my mom for funiture. All different stuff but the best one of all is us trying to put together the basketball hoop inside the house.
When I was born I came out white. And every one said I was one of the cutest babies they ever seen.by the age of five I was one of the smartest babies my mother ever had, and at this age I started to find a love for basketball. In elementary I had honor roll but I never got rewarded for nun for that, my parents would not say good job or gave me nothing. But I really didn’t think about that too much. But when all that was going on my father left the household when I was 7 years of age and I didn’t know what was happening at the time but later on in life I figured it out for myself. I grew up without a father but that did stop me from doing the things I like or getting the things I want. I never got in trouble or anything but I try to remain good and did the right thing.
