An educator is defined as a person who provides instruction or education. I believe that when it comes to choosing what my career should be, it should come straight from the heart. As far as I can think back, I have had a strong admiration for education. I have been an honor student since I have been enrolled in school. I believe that taking pride in academics enhances character.
Character defines who an individual is and what they may become. Helen Keller once said, “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial, and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” I highly agree with this statement due to the fact that I can relate it to my personal life. When I was nine years old, my mother was diagnosed with a disease that cannot be cured called sarcoidosis. Her left lung is infected and it affects her breathing and her movement from time to time. In 2008, her sickness took toil and my mother became

Wanda M. Austin stated, “There are always going to be stumbling blocks in your life, you never really know where they are gonna come from, but it is important that you take the attitude of turning them into stepping stones.” This statement in my opinion summarizes the mindset that I have when it comes to my financial situation and education. Compared to other children whose financial issues are more complex, some would look at my application and go on to the next. My “stumbling block” in life has always been the fact that both of my parents have serious health issues that causes them not to work. My “stepping stones” in life are the drive I have for wanting to attend college and the love I have for education. Scholarships and grants will be my only way to pay for college. The mindset I have developed allows me to have faith that I will be able to follow my dreams. I believe that adversity is a trigger for self-motivation. I will use my adversity to push myself as hard as I can to be
Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Everybody in the world has some form of character that makes them a human being. Having a good personality and good character are good tools to be socially sound. For example, in “Ihave a dream” by Martin Luther king jr is very proud to be black and wants to fight for negroes until he is satisfied. Carry Your Own Skis by Lian Dolan is a great source of character.
Character is simply who you are. I am convinced that you are not defined by what you do, but by the way you do things and the principles
Character is defined as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. I, however, believe character goes far beyond just qualities a person possesses - character defines who a person is. Character takes years to build. One does not just wake up one morning and have strong character, rather it is built through experience, and living life. Through my participation in sports and other activities, especially swimming and lacrosse, I have developed my character. I am determined, hardworking, and dedicated. When I commit myself to a
Character is one of the four, main pillars of the National Honors Society. Members of this society not only represent the high standard of academic success, but they are also natural born leaders, serving as a positive role model for the entire school community. Character is defined as the thing that distinguishes one individual from another, which helps us strive to make the right choices day after day. Everybody has a unique character, no two people are alike. But these differences of character are what make people role models.
What Martin Luther King offered What exactly is character? Character is a word that not used as much as it once was. Having character can be hard work. You have to make sure your personality is likeable, meaning when others see you they know you’re a nice person that doesn't mean any harm. and you have to make sure you have a mind of your own.
Financial woes sometimes make focusing on my studies very difficult. My children watch every move that I make and sometimes imitate me, I want them to emulate my determination by finishing school and earning a degree. I want them to strive for excellent grades, just as I have. I have come to the realization that with a degree, I can pursue a career with a more rewarding salary and a better work-life balance. My fortitude to improve our quality of life has really influenced my academic goals and achievements.
A character is can be shaped at an early age by someone that the person looks up to, admire, or want to immolate. Character is defined by Oxford Dictionary as, “The mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. The quality of being individual in an interesting or unusual way. Strength and originality in a person's nature.” As a leader, just as people look for your integrity, they will also watch your character. People will buy into the leader before they will buy into the role of the leader. Cloud and Townsend cite, “Victims of trauma in the family are almost always recipients of poor or sinful character-relating patterns….We contribute to our boundary issues by our own individual character styles. For example, some people with a constitutionally greater amount of aggression deal with boundary problems more confrontationally. And some with less aggression shy more from boundaries.” Consequently, character, whether positive or negative, will have an effect on how one conduct themselves. Conduct will ensure that ethical choices are being made with the
I know for a fact that I do not want to live from paycheck to paycheck, so I work hard to have a high paying job someday. I also want to be able to set an example for my younger siblings and younger cousins. Through the doubts of succeeding and ending up like the rest of my family, I push through and keep my eye on the finish line. I carry the pressure on my shoulders, and still keep on studying and working towards finishing my
Character isn't just how someone carries themselves its; manners, loyalty, self confidence, respect, and truthfulness that all contribute to your character. My Coach has taught me the most about character and it is one of our biggest priorities as a team. As a captain of my football team I am looked upon by many young teammates for guidance, help, and enthusiasm to get through those long grueling practices or a neck-to-neck game. Good moral character has gotten me where I am today and I will continue to be successful because of it. Character is how we respond to the situation and cruel tricks that life plays on us
Applying and figuring out to how to pay for college was something I did with no help because my parents never went to college but my motivation and drive pushed me to make my dreams come to true and I am currently a student at Rutgers University - New Brunswick Campus. My motivation to succeed at study is my immigrant parents who left everything they knew to give me the future they knew they would never have.As the oldest of six my motivation is my family and their struggles. I motivate myself to do the very best I can to ensure that I give myself and parents a better life, a life they could have never imagined. My parents came from Palestine, a third world country and they currently i na first world country still so poor they cannot afford
There has not been a financial challenge I've faced in my life that amounts to the one that I face as a financially independent college student. In highschool they emphasize the idea of getting accepted into college, but never on how do you stay in college. All my life it has been considered ideal and fairly simple to go to high school, then to college, and from there you’ll be fine. I believed that it would be as simple as getting a plethora of scholarships and grant money. I believed loans,if any, would be easily obtainable and not a big deal. The cost of college is far greater than I could ever imagine. You see, the financial cost is one burden, but let us consider the by products of the financial burden of college. There is the physical cost, the mental cost, the social cost, etc.
Character can be defined as the sum of features and traits that form the individual as a human being. Character is also established by one's actions, habits, and opinions relating to morality. Often in life people struggle with who they really are, and who they are due to others involvement in shaping their personality. We, as humans that make mistakes, tend to lose our ¨role model¨ expectation when taken by surprise. Jeremy Taylor once said, ¨A fair reputation is a plant, delicate in its nature, and by no means rapid in its growth.
Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual, though morality is subjective, in today’s society it is predominantly agreed upon that someone who is of good character has certain qualities that contribute to their decision making, trustworthiness, and intelligence. I previously mentioned prudence, which is the ability to govern oneself by the use of reason to make good judgements that allow you to avoid troublesome situations, which allows one to face the adversities of life while only encountering necessary risks. This is the ultimate show of genuine character, those who can judge for themselves and aren’t afraid to admit their faults, or
What is character? Character is something that is hard to explain. It is who we are, the way we act, and the kind of person we truly are and want to be. Character is what you are in the dark. But if character is the kind of person you are when no one is looking, then why does it matter? Character matters because even when we think no one is looking, they are. People are always watching us and the way we behave and many will look to us in admiration and inspiration, so it is our job to constantly be a role model of good character. A couple of ways that we can show our character are through gratitude and respect, but we can also look up to others, such as Benjamin Franklin, as role models for good character.
Metamorphosis (noun) the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages. 2. a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means. Being a teenage girl who is in the process of finding out who I truly am, and who I want to be gives me the opportunity to make changes in my attitude. I’ve always had pessimistic tendencies rather than an optimistic behavior, and I want to change that about myself.
