God shows love in the greatest ways. There are so many passages, especially in the book of John that prove what a loving God we have. He sacrificed his only son for us and if that doesn't prove his amount of love then I'm not sure what could. Everyday this attribute of God shines through anybody who believes in him. There are ways love is working in your life right now and you don't even realize it. Romans 13:10- "love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." Going about your day with love will never steer you wrong. Even if you feel like you just cannot be loving today, try your hardest to have an attitude of love and it will change your perspective for sure. It can drastically change your personal views as a believer, the way you can apply this attribute, and how the attribute of love can draw in non-believers. Fathers love their kids so much. Even when they mess up or are mean to someone at school they still have unconditional love for them. When I was younger I was a terrible child. I am very strong willed and that made conflicts hard for me between the ages of 3-10 and it made things really hard because I was always angry about the smallest things. I struggled for a long time because I felt like I had to prove my point. I would defy my parents and it really caused problems between our relationship. I have learned over the years it is so beneficial to approach everything with love. Those years of being defiant and always trying to prove myself have made me understand how important it is to just be loving. Sometimes it is really hard and it doesn't seem like the right thing to do because you are just so upset, but imitating Gods love is the path to travel on. Being at Northwest these past three years have taught me so much about our loving God, and I have completely seen the attribute of love work in my
A relationship between a father and his child is one of the most sacred bonds to have growing up. Some people do not have to fortunate of having such a thing. Other people have fathers that do terrible things (such as murder, rape, or stealing) to either others or themselves.
Faith in Christ has given me a unique life filled with optimism and purpose. From a young age, I have been raised in a home where I was taught about the love of Christ. Not only at home did I learn about Christ, but at school and at church. Thus, my life has been filled with experiences that have amplified my faith. For example, when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I found that my relationship with Christ grew. Through all of the difficult circumstances that I have faced, faith in Christ has given me the encouragement that I need to persevere through any situation. Additionally, faith has influenced my decision making, which is why I strive to make all my decisions and live my life according to faith-based principles. This means
One moment in history that demonstrated love greatly was Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was a Civil rights Activist, a Writer, and a President. Nelson Mandela “helped bring an end to apartheid”( History.com) and he was advocate for human Rights. Mandela was a leader of Proteste done peacefully and also “armed resistance against the whites.”(History.com) Nelson Mandela fought for equality among the African American and the Caucasians. Mandela became an inspirational leader and symbol for the people following this leadership. Love was shown through Nelson Mandela’s journey. Mandela wanted all races to be free and equal. This eventually lead him into Jail for 3 decades. Love is exhibited here because Nelson Mandela was dedicated to getting equality that the consequences did not matter. After getting out of Jail, the same previous actions were committed. Nelson Mandela did everything he could to gain equality. Nelson Mandela was passionate and devoted; therefore, Nothing was able to hinder his process. Nelson Mandela was successful in the use of love because it was not just talked about, but exhibited
“Love” is one of the great themes of the Bible and a major theme of the Gospel. God’s love is portrayed through the Messiah. 1 John 4 explains the importance of love. Love began with
I was raised in a Christian home. My parents and siblings always reminded me the importance of having God in our lives and how grateful we should be for what we have and what we do not. My parents taught us to be confident, and to always dream big for what we want in life. My dad would often tell us a famous quote that, "Life is what you make it.". And he would emphasize on how important our decisions in life are, and that we're ultimately responsible for the things that we do. And so I pursued to do just that. I pursued to dream big and see life in confidence and faith in God.
Our relationship with our loved ones can be sometimes complicated, and one of the reasons is because of the way our parents are raising us; and also the way their parents raised them too. In this decade fathers are less aware of their children’s need of love. The idea of fatherhood changed dramatically after the Industrial Revolution. The economy abruptly dictated that somebody had to go out to work in order to bring food to the table. Men were usually chosen, because of the idea that woman are the ones who take care of the household. In addition, for almost 200 years, each generation of fathers has had less authority than the last, when talking about their children. I am not making generalization about all men, but there is an enormous amount
Throughout a majority of history up to this present date, we have come to rely on science as a means of explanation behind the reasoning behind many things: mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology. When regarding the subject of a greater entity or supreme being, the quote “Where science ends, religion begins” can be used to explain that there are things in which science cannot possibly hold the answer to, and the only reasonable explanation behind these things point to a greater being. Acquiring this newfound knowledge has altered my viewpoint on God, going on to strengthen my faith and belief in God now that I had been presented with scientific proof that God must have existed. There have been times throughout my life where curiosity had overcome me and I found myself asking whether or not God had actually existed, and now that I have been presented proof that he exists, all of my doubts have been washed away. There are three major areas in our universe that science cannot provide an explanation for, and can only be proven to be possible if a greater being had come into play. These topics included: the beginning of the universe, the design of the universe, and the complexity of our DNA.
Faith and reason can be viewed as opposites. Faith is an element of belief, something an individual does not necessarily require a reason for accepting without reason. For example, an individual’s reason for believing in God may not seem too rational when they are trying to explain them. They may not even stand up to criticism. On the other hand, reason is constructed as a formula. Faith is basically something we believe in, like something we learn in church. Reason is something we learn in school, such as a math formula.
God is love. “He expresses His love perfectly through Jesus. Because of our sin nature, expressing our love to others will always be poluted. Because of the present of the Spirit in our lives, it can be expressed” (1 Jn. 4: 8).
I have been blessed by God through out my life. I have never been on unemployment or any other kind of assistance program. He has equipped me with a good career path to provide for my family as well.
What comes to mind when society hears the word, God? Dictionary.com defines God as “the one Supreme Being, creator, and Ruler of the Universe.” To me, I know God as Yahweh, the Jewish and Christian deity. I believe in Yahweh because he protects me every day, and when I turn to him for help, he is always there for me. There are others who view God as Allah or Buddha. At one time, they even saw Zeus this way, but I’m not here to really focus on the side with which everyone is familiar. Dictionary.com also defines God as “something that is regarded or treated as a God”. God can be the ultimate ruler of all things, the statue of Buddha made of stone, or even a smartphone.
Religion in the world has always been considered a rather important aspect of society. Although this is true, there are still people that question the existence of God. A survey done among 1000 people showed that 65 percent of Americans believe that religion is losing its influence on American life (Sheler, 8). Even so, Belief in a God is necessary for a moral society because since the beginning of history man has always made up some sort of role model to explain events and situations that seem inexplicable, God gives people a sense of comfort and hope to know they aren’t alone, and when a society believes in a God, there is a religion behind it that gives ethics and values that they must
From the research that I did, I found that mostly the Final Cause is separated from the other causes. It is cause by the facts that Aristotle’s idea of God is the Final Cause of change and movement, and therefore God is the Final Cause of us. Any kind of change has to have been made to happen by something or someone. For example, the ball flies in the air because someone kicked it. Aristotle says that this eternal movement and change had to have started off with an unmoved mover, or Prime Mover. This is something that is a mover but does not move itself.
In conclusion, I am daddy's little girl and proud of that. I could not of asked for a better father. My dad has always been there for me and I wil always be there for him. I respect my father because he deserves to be. He stayed and was a father and never took the easy way out like in the world today most fathers do. I believe my father is the best at everything he does. He has been through so much in his life and still is a happy wonderful man; I would have been sad and depressed if I had to go through hald as much as my father. Dad is strong and looks ahead not behind, he always say the past is the past "always
Religion and personal belief continue to be important in the lives of most Americans. Large majorities say that they belong to a religious tradition and there is broad agreement about religious belief and practice. About eight-in-ten Americans say they have no doubt that God exists, that prayer is an important part of their lives, and that “we will all be called before God at the Judgment Day to answer for our sins” ("Trends in Attitudes Toward Religion and Social Issues: 1987-2007," 2007).
