During my almost two years of high school, I have earned outstanding grades throughout the turbulence of attending different schools in two different countries. Freshman year was a transition across the United States from the West to East Coast. However, even in the midst of struggling in a drastically new environment, I maintained a 4.0 GPA and received High Honors all four quarters. This year was an even bigger leap from the United States to Japan, but I have continued to maintain my high standard of work. This year, I have kept up a 4.0 GPA and was recognized on Principal’s Honor Roll. Overall, my outstanding academic work is remarkable because I have achieved high grades in all honors classes, all while facing new school environments each year and balancing sports and extracurriculars as well. Next, to add yet another facet to my well-rounded student life, I have looked beyond myself to the community I am a part of. When I moved to Yokosuka, the Kinnick Community Service Club caught my eye. To serve my community, I began feeding the homeless around Yokosuka every Tuesday night with the club. Also, I participated in many Red Cross events, such as delivering Christmas cards to sailors aboard the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan. A different way I have recently found to serve my community is by working as a lifeguard. …show more content…
For instance, whenever we receive a group project in class, I step forward and parcel out roles to my peers and organize the project to ensure it will run smoothly. Also, I joined the newly formed Engineering Club and was elected Historian by my fellow members. As historian, I document our meetings and events and upload pictures to our Facebook page to keep a record of our work. This responsibility falls solely on me, and I have demonstrated leadership by organizing club photos and allowing for proper documentation. Overall, Kinnick High School is a place where my leadership abilities
Along with being a diligent student who has been enrolled in 11 Advanced Placement classes, I have also dedicated my time to other causes. For example, I have volunteered at public libraries, Special Olympics events, orphanages for intellectually disabled children, and food pantries. While maintaining a rigorous course load and volunteering, I also work at Kumon. I tutor children to boost their confidences and understanding of concepts vital to their future success. Moreover, I have received membership to The National Honor Society and have been awarded an AP Scholar with Merit Award. My dedication to becoming more culturally aware and five years of enrollment in Spanish classes has allowed me to be inducted into Spanish Honor Society. Within
Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new
I was part of the Air Cadets, a program to help the youth with leadership and teamwork skills, I showed my leadership skills by raising money for my squadron. Air Cadets allowed me to take part in my own community. I am active in many sports such as; golf, tennis, table tennis, soccer. I also enjoy playing chess with my brother and father and I enjoy skiing and skating during the winter time. At school, I try to enjoy it instead of seeing it as a stressful job, I make sure that even if I have stress, I can deal with it calmly and effectively. I easily understand concepts and learn new things quickly which will benefit me if I miss a month of school for this program. I usually do my assignments beforehand so that I have time to add any final touches and have it edited by my peers and teachers. I show my leadership in many different ways. I take the initiative of helping teachers, my fellow students and my parents. I help
I have been the president of my school’s Junior Civitian club for 2 years now and I was color guard caption for two years also. I have learned how to become a leader. I also went to Girl State where I learned how to become a better leader. Becoming a leader is challenging, especially in high school, when you want to do what everyone else is doing. I have learned that being a leader you should be fair and treat people as if they are your peers and not lower than you are. As a leader I am the first person their and the last person to leave. I also have made myself available to the people in Junior Civitan and the people on the color guard team. I also have an ambitious attitude, as should ever leader. I will always try to keep everyone cheerful
Throughout my time at Cedar Creek High School I have achieved High Honor roll every semester. Currently I have a cumulative GPA of 97 or a 4.0, although this is commendable personally this is proof of my abilities but also ushers me to further my achievements. High academic achievement is of utmost importance in becoming a constructive and upright character. By reason that academic achievement is only attainable by possessing strong convictions, a desire for
Education and learning has been something that has fascinated me from an early age. This fascination has encouraged me to strive for the best. Throughout high school, I have managed to maintain a 3.5 GPA while participating in extracurricular activities and organizations such as Lewisville High School’s JV Dance/Drill Team, Varsity Theatre, Speech/Debate, National Honor Society, and Student Council. Along with my school involvement I have been working part-time at Chick Fil A for two years.
I have demonstrated leadership in a several different ways. During middle school, I was a member of the National Junior Honor Society. In fact, I gave up a majority of my study halls to help out the advisor. I am currently a captain of my fall sport. Because I hold this position, I help the underclassmen during games, encourage them, and resolve conflicts. In addition to that, I used to be a teacher’s assistant to a second grade religious education class. Next year, I plan to join student government and maintain leadership positions.
As apart of the leadership team, I work with everyone to service our school by doing everything from putting on fundraisers to working towards the improvement of the school. We, as a team, also service the Fredericksburg community by volunteering for services like providing dinner for the homeless and roadside cleanings. I also took up the position of leadership when I was named team captain of my high school’s varsity field hockey team my senior year. I had the opportunity, then, to lead my peers into games with a mind of encouragement, and lead the team through the best year of performance since the team was first formed. A good work ethic is another important quality for a student in the program as it shows a willingness to work hard and well on everything the student does.
My role as president of my high school’s National Honor Society also allowed to demonstrate my worth as a leader. I was in charge of the overall organization of the club, finding more volunteering opportunities
Throughout my high school career, I have made it my priority to dedicate my time to academics, athletics, and community service projects. Academically, I strive to maintain my honor roll status which I have achieved since my freshman year. While dedicating my time to rigorous AP and Honors courses I have also been a member of the girl’s winter and spring track team since my freshman year and officially earned varsity status my sophomore year. I have also been an active member of the girl’s cross country team both my junior and senior year. Leadership roles such as these have allowed to me transform into a well rounded, hardworking, and responsible individual, which essentially allowed me to become a member of Barnegat High School’s National
During grade school, I won many academic awards and was also a member of the academic bowl team. At the graduation ceremony in 8th grade, I received the R. Dean Truesdale award, which recognized students who scored highly academically and exemplified outstanding integrity. While taking the high school placement test, I scored highly and received a scholarship to attend Ursuline. During freshman year, I had a GPA of 4.37, and during my sophomore year, I had a GPA of 4.40. I am committed to improving myself academically, and my past academic accomplishments showcase this.
Over the course of high school, I have engaged in my community in various ways. For one, I have donated my time volunteering for health-related organizations that promote good causes, such as the “Heart Walk” for the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer's Walk. Over the summer of 2017, I assisted nurses in maternal fetal medicine with clerical work through the VolunTeen program
In 9th grade I had a vague idea of what high school credits were and I familiarized myself with the education system of America. Later, in 12th grade I realized that had I chosen to take some challenging classes such as Honors or AP classes earlier in high school, my GPA would have increased. But now I feel so proud of myself because I have achieved so many things in just few years. I became fluent in English, adopted the American environment as my own, and not only that I became accomplished in my studies too. I got my RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license just at the age of 16 in my junior year of high school, I interned at a dental office for a research Capstone project which I presented at the end of my high school. I graduated in the distinguished Honor Roll. I was also in top 3% of my graduating class, and I ranked 17 out of 546 students. Finally in my senior year, I was offered admission into Lone Star’s Honors College and was awarded the Lone Star College- North Harris Chancellor’s Fellow Scholarship. There is a lot to expect in this upcoming year. I will be graduating with Associates of Science Honors Degree by the end of 2016 school year. I will be traveling to Italy in spring break for a research project, and will have atleast 12 credits hours of international studies. In this brief journey I achieved a lot and hope to achieve
For as long as I can remember, I have always volunteered to lead in all of my classes. For example, I lead the yearbook Instagram account which requires a lot of effort and responsibility, but I am committed and never forget to post the photo of the week or spirit day photos. I also raise my hand anytime a teacher asks for a group leader for a project, activity, etc. All throughout elementary school, I took every opportunity I had to be a part of student council. In fifth grade, I got to be the historian. I have lots of experience leading the school with the responsibility of being the historian. Although that is nothing compared to the hard work ASB puts into our school every day, I do have experience being a leader in other ways such as former student council and at
Most recently, I participated in community service projects (approximately 100 hours over my four years) while a student at Saint Mary's College in the following clubs and committees: Member of SMC Stand UP; Member of Residence Hall Association; Formal Committee; Improvements Board Committee; Fundraising Committee and Member of Varsity Tennis Team. The projects I participated in included involvement in local nursing homes, Riley Hospital for Children, Hannah's House (women's care center) and tennis camps.
