“Keep your goals out of reach, but not out of sight.” –Anonymous. All goals in life should be challenging, or a dream you have. Never set the bar too low, to make it easy on yourself, nor set the bar to high, that makes you put yourself under some much stress so it makes it impossible to reach your goal at a healthy state in mater in your life. Having goals in your life helps you picture what you want in the future and what the future has in store for you. There is a difference between the goals you want to happen soon and the goals you want to happen in the future. The goals you what to happen soon are call short term goals. The goals that you have set for your future are called long term goals. Three short term goals I have are, making it to state track, joining NHS and NSHSS, and getting my CNA. A long term goal I have is to graduate from The University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in …show more content…
This last winter I was able to join NHS because I had a lot of family things going on at the time and was not able to join, and same with this summer. This summer I was sent in the mail an invitation from the school to join NSHSS. My parents told me to just wait till my senior year to join, which I was fine by because we did have a lot going on at the time. To join NHS for the school I will need to keep my GPA up above a 3.5. I was able to keep it there for three semesters in a row I just need to keep it there for the rest of my high school career so I can stay in NHS. If my gpa was to drop below a 3.5 I will no longer be able to be part of NHS. I also need to stay involved in what I am involved in now and get involved in more extracurricular activities because being involved never hurts and I enjoy being involved in the community. I am assuming I will need to keep everything the same as well for NSHSS next year when I send in the
I want to be in the National Honors Society because of the cool t-shirts. Not only because I think they look cool, but because of what they represent. The t-shirts are a symbol of NHS. The people in the t-shirts are part of a small group of students in the Rangeview community who value success and leadership. I want to wear and be one of the names on the back of the NHS t-shirts. I also want to be able to do more volunteering through NHS because it is difficult to find volunteer opportunities.I am committed to success, community and my future and I hope to join an organization that has the same values. I want to be involved in more clubs and activities this year. NHS is one of the best clubs at Rangeview; I hope I can be a part of it this
Each member must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5. If you fail to do this, it will result in a suspension from all NHS activities; other than meetings for an entire quarter. During the time of the suspension, if you do not attend a meeting you will be removed from NHS.
Being selected as a member of Grove School’s National Honor Society would be a great honor for me because I hope to achieve my goal of exhibiting my dedication to academics, community service and extra circulars. I strive to be a role model and a resource for my peers by guiding them in the right direction. I think I could be a valuable addition to NHS because I have a strong work ethic, have a passion for helping people and not only meet but exceed all the qualifications of leadership, character, service and scholarship.
National Honor Society is built upon four pillars; scholarship, service, leadership, and character. As a member of NHS I strive to demonstrate these pillars throughout my day to day life. Within my first two years of high school, I focused mainly upon myself, caring only about the grades I was receiving, and striving to better my own education. While I know prioritizing education is important, I know that it is also important to help those around me, whether that be through tutoring or simply reaching out and being a friend to those in need. It wasn’t until I was inducted into NHS at the end of my sophomore year when I realized this. After being introduced to these four pillars, I feel as though my perspective of high school dramatically changed.
As is aforementioned, good grades are not the only reason that a student gets to join the NHS. Outstanding character in school and in the community is almost even more important to getting in than anything else. I have shown this character in some of the extracurricular activities
First, I would like to express my gratitude for being considered for entrance into the FHS Chapter of the National Honor Society. It would be a great honor to represent our school in such a prestigious organization. Should I be accepted, my main goals would be to uphold the values expected by members of the NHS, continue my community service and participation in both in school and out of school activities, and maintain the grades that I have earned throughout my education. I once again thank you for the opportunity to be considered for entrance into the NHS, and for you taking the time to review my
I would be a valuable member to the NHS because of my strive for greatness in everything and for my personality full of leadership qualities. I am a very hard worker and enjoy helping others. I wish to join the NHS to develop character, become a better leader, and encourage excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities, and in the community. When i put my mind to something, I do it. While being a useful member to the NHS at Thornapple Kellogg high school, I wish to be seen as a leader by my peers and community. I am very qualified in all criteria of being a successful student/leader with plenty of character and service experience.
I would like to join the PFTSTA NHS Chapter because I would like to be a part of an organization that celebrates the success of hardworking students. The National Honor Society is known for its exclusiveness and for exposing young scholars to numerous opportunities, which is something I support. It is humbling to be invited into an organization where they look for not only grades, but an overall exceptional character. I would like to join because the high standards that must be maintained will build and shape my character throughout the rest of my high school career. As I take on more responsibility, it is comforting to know that fellow members of the organization will be encouraging me to excel in everything I do. This membership would also
Joining the National Honor Society will provide me with the skills to apply myself towards helping the community of Manassas Park. As a junior, I wish to challenge myself towards furthering my ambitions. Contributing to NHS would allow me to bring my skills from volunteering and my experience job shadowing and use them to help the community of Manassas Park. Volunteering and job shadowing has helped me feel a greater sense of pride and identity towards myself. As a determined, respectable student , joining NHS will allow myself to grow and contribute to my community. Finally, NHS would benefit from my calm, dependable attitude and I am thankful for the opportunity to be included in this distinguished organization.
We are proud to inform you that you have been identified as being academically eligible for consideration for membership to the National Honor Society. The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. Thus far I have focus greatly on the scholarship aspect of NHS and have been dedicated to my academics. I have held my GPA above 4.0 and have always been devoted to maintaining that high level of academic success. The skills I have shown in devoting myself to my academics can be easily translated into my dedication for the other aspects of leadership, service and character. Having previously held a officer role in the National Junior Honor Society I have gained experience
I currently possess the NHS values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character and want to become a member because of influential people I look up to, tragic events, and motivation for success. First, I have lived with a supportive family who gives me advice and shows me that there are endless possibilities to my future. They have gone to college and been very successful due to their efforts in work and school. Additionally, my piano teacher has given me patience while I learn new pieces and perform. Second, my sister was bullied and abused last year, and finding ways to support and understand her helps me be more compassionate for others struggling with difficult things. She has always been my best friend even though we are sisters,
To be selected for NHS is both an honor and a privilege. If selected I will bring the same positive attitude to the club as I would to my school work and FBLA. I am willing to participate in any tasks offered to me whether in or out of school. I will continue to make a difference in my community
Growing up you hear, "You can do anything you set your mind to," and as you get older you begin to hear, "Follow your dreams, but maybe you should major in business management, there's always a job with that." Courage is following a path you have faith in whether or not everyone else does. It's doing something new, vibrant, artistic, and not business management.
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
