As I look back at what happened on that cold day, I realized that, ultimately, I have made a poor decision by not planning properly and put not just myself, but also my classmates in danger by not appropriately measuring the risks involved in an unknown situation. The only reason things turned out okay in the end, was because we were fortunate enough that the good samaritan stopped for us. For me, the lesson that I learned that day is something that is going to be very important as I pursue my first LOVE, psychiatry. As a psychiatrist, I realize that all-too-often my psychiatric patients can make poor decisions just like I did that day. To try living their life, not realizing what their psychiatric illnesses, (Bipolar or Schizophrenia,) when
Snow days have been renown ever since institutions had started in human history. It can affect someone in a harmful or beneficial depending upon the person themselves. For those who enjoy spending their free time indulging in academic or personal pleasures would surely enjoy unintentional day offs. I would and would not count myself in that category since I enjoy spending my free time while not at the same time. School may be flawed, but I still enjoy the subtle feeling that motivates me to work on my future studies.
Technology has improve dramatically over the past centeries. The AT-6 two-passenger fighter plane can predicct when the hurricans would come and protect and saves peoples lifes. It can also travel near the hurricans and we can collect data about the hurricans and learn them and it lead us to another great invention the weather satellites. The mailbox can help to find the treasure of the past, and the satellite archeology can help to discover the root of our ancestors. The AT-6 two-passenger fighter plane is the most important type of technology that's most advanced for researchers and explorers today.
Born Lisa Williamson in 1964, Sister Souljah is a hip-hop artist that burst to the forefront of mainstream media in 1992 when she was criticized by then Presidential candidate Bill Clinton for saying "If Black people kill black people every day, why not have a week and kill white people?" Clinton was trying to prove to other Democrats that he did not sympathize with the organization that Souljah was a member of. She basically said Bill Clinton and went on to sign music and publishing contracts. She has become one of the more passionate and articulate voices to emerge speaking for young African Americans in the United States. She has written and published to works: No Disrespect, and autobiographical account of
Relationships Displayed in Night The memoir Night, by Elie Wiesel, illuminates the relationship between Elie and his father. Specifically, the relationship is explained while the father and the son navigate the atrocities of the Holocaust. In the memoir, Elie and her father have an ever-changing relationship dynamic. The ever-changing dynamic refers to how the relationship remains in a continual state of flux, the connection between Elie and Mr. Wiesel strengthening or weakening with each adversity faced.
Johnny Liu Ms. Theobald World Literature Honors 1 March 2024 Themes in Night and in Survivor Stories Every person carries a story within them, shaped by their experiences and actions. While some stories are full of success and positivity, others are marked by trauma and hardship. During the Holocaust, there were many instances of negative experiences. One such example of this is the traumatic story of Eliezer in the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel.
As I walked over to them, I said a prayer in my head. “Dear God, this is my one shot. Please help me be able to stay calm, cool, and collected,” I thought. All of a sudden, I
Temperature conditions are critical in determining sufficient winter chill exposure. However, the process is physiological and likely to be driven by other, yet undetermined, processes (Dennis, 1994). Hormonal controls have been suggested as the mechanism, with early research proposing the process is controlled by a balance of growth promoters and inhibitors (Amen, 1968). More recent research

It’s ironic how one seemingly insignificant event can create such a big impact on an individual’s life. Two summers ago, I assisted my teacher by watching over children ranging from seven to eight years old. Prior to this experience, I saw children as a form of nuisance and distraction. They would often ask me to help them with tasks I initially saw as miniscule, such as tying their shoes. However, on what seemed like an ordinary day, the children were playing in the park when I noticed a stranger conversing with one of them. Feeling that something was off, I perceived this as a threat to the children. A surge of peril and solicitous emotions overcame me to protect the welfare of the student. Before I could make out his face, he noticed me
In the arctic, there is a layer of the soil known as permafrost. In this layer, there is a large concentration of CO2, or Carbon Dioxide. The environment can only handle a certain amount of CO2 at a time. Most of this CO2 is released through the burning of fossil fuels. However, fossil fuels burn slowly releasing small amounts at a time. Scientists previously believed that the CO2 in the layers of permafrost would eventually be released all at once, triggering irreversible global warming effects. However, testing of these permafrost layers has now revealed that the CO2 will escape gradually. This gradual escape is good news to scientists, because it means the world will have time to prepare for the effects of it. However, there is not much
This day, in particular, the junior class was off to a college fair for a majority of the day. I can remember having a great time exploring what my future could possibly look like. There were so many options and I felt as if nothing could bring me and my classmates down on that day. However, I was wrong. We had only been at the college fair for approximately an hour an a half before people started getting calls from their parents. I first heard that there was someone in our school with a gun when my friend’s mom called her asking if she was alright. Not too soon after, the Harrisburg junior class was evacuated from the college fair into a gym until our mentors could figure out what we were to do next. After numerous calls from worried parents, we were told to get on the bus so we could get evacuated to Harrisburg South Middle School, a school not too far from the high school, to meet up with the
It was the perfect day to hang out with my friends since we were all so jubilant due to the enduring weekend that was approaching. Every week seems to pass slower and time ticks by until we are faced by summer causing us to be separated. The weekend was something all of my friends and I looked forward to. Whether it is playing football, talking, or just relaxing on the couch, we can always make a tedious day entertaining. It became more challenging to associate with my friends due to my parents having a strong disliking for some of them.
This summer I did many fun and some rather boring activities. I traveled to many places this summer. I went to Philadelphia to visit my sister, Chicago to see the Shedd Aquarium, and went to Cedar Point with my sister. I also spent a lot of time outside. I ran with the middle school for cross country so I would be in shape. I also went fishing and caught a foot long bass. I went to a Tincap game with one of my friends, Alex. Also, ate at Cracker Barrel with my family. I stayed indoors and watched Netflix. I relaxed in bed a lot too. I did many fun activities, but the event that involves science the most is swimming. I went swimming in my swimming pool, and there are many sciences of swimming I did not know about.
Endih was a place of cold and sadness. My father and mother were killed by a Kalag, a horrible beast. My father was a very powerful man. He was the ruler of our frosted planet. When he died, I became the ruler, but I was very young, too young. I had no idea what I was doing. Endih was in chaos.
The next day we had a pretty chill day because seniors are just taking pictures for the yearbook. We were just in the auditorium until lunch. They also remind us to start applying for college. Alicia and I already applied in UCLA, USC and UCR. I totally want to go to UCR because my friends there told me that it is very fun there but UCLA and USC are both felicitous universities as well. We’ll just hope for the best, we just certainly want to go to college.
