General Information
Native to Australia, rose-breasted cockatoos are commonly called galahs in that country. The average size of an adult rose-breasted cockatoo is from 12 to 15 inches in length, from the beak to the tip of the tail feathers. In captivity, they can live up to 70 years, if fed a healthy diet. Their chests, bellies and the lower half of their faces have bright pink feathers. The crests are pinkish-white and the backs, wings, tail feathers and feet are gray. The beaks are bone colored.

They should also be fed other kinds of vegetables such as root vegetables, peppers, zucchini, green beans, and sprouts. Fresh fruits and nuts such as almonds and pecans are also good sources of healthy nutrition.
