Coach Ricedorff, How have you been? I hope the family is doing well. Coach, two reasons I’m shooting you an email. First, I don’t know if you knew this but I just started as full time coaching job at the university of Minnesota Morris campus, it’s a division III school in western Minnesota. Coach I got to say you were a big part of me wanting to become a coach, your character + chemistry = championships is something I really do hold near and dear to my heart, and is the foundation to many of the choices I have made. In fact is one of the foundation of my master’s thesis is written on teaching character for sport. Alright, now down to reason number two. I am inquiring to see if you have a list of players with contact info who you think
In life, you encounter many situations and people that aid in molding you into the person you are meant to be. When these instances in time occur, we may not realize it, but looking back they made a huge impact on our lives. For the past four years, I have been a member of the Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers Basketball Team, and while the sport itself taught me many lessons and skills I can use to be successful, there was one coach that managed to do the same.
Three and a half years later, he graduated. After graduating Billy had been offered the job of assistant men’s hockey coach at Fredonia State University in New York which is where he earned the title of the NCAA’s youngest coach ever recorded. Currently, along with attending graduate school Billy is the assistant coach of the Manhattanville men’s ice hockey team. The reason I admire Billy as much as a do, is because he is not someone who lead a perfect life, he is real, he showed me life isn’t always going to go your way and curve balls will be thrown but you just how to power through it, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I see myself learning from Billy each and every day, he taught me how getting an education and powering through school will soon pay off and open many doors each holding new and exiting opportunities that may never have presented themselves without a strong work ethic, strong mind, and most importantly an education. I live in hopes that one day I will feel as accomplished and proud of myself as Billy does
Every day they woke up in Hell, struggling to survive, and working endless hours, finding out that they were not useful for work anymore, they were sent somewhere else to be killed. This was the life at Treblinka. Malkinia Gora, located in the north eastern region of Generalgouvernement, and it was home to some of the worst labor camps known as Treblinka I and Treblinka II during World War II. These camps were created by Operation Reinhard. The camps ran from July, 1942 to October, 1943. “When the British soldiers entered the camp, after its liberation, they found scenes of unimaginable suffering and men of bones and skin somehow standing on spindly legs, amidst piles of emaciated corpses” (Rajchman, 1). Treblinka was one of the worst concentration
I have been fortunate to be the recipient of untold hours of guidance of my own coaches and mentors. I can only imagine the sacrifices they have made- time away from family and fatigue just to name a couple. As a result of their investment in me, I have had innumerable opportunities, not the least of which will be the opportunity to attend Rice next fall and play baseball for the Owls. I am doing my best to apply the lessons I've learned through Wylie high school sports, to my life and all the lives I touch through service. All of these lessons impacted my life immensely and will follow me through
Truitt came to realize her love for children during her career so, she got her teacher certification and went back to school to receive her masters degree in educational administartion. This allowed her to become a exceptional education teacher while still residing in Florida in 2005. She continued teaching there until 2012, when she had he second child. As a single mother of two, she made the decicion to move back home to Abbeville where she knew had a supportive family. Continuing her career as a special education teacher in her home town lead her back to her high school sport of choice, cheerleading. When the cheer coach stepped down, Ms. Truitt was asked to take over and I will forever be grateful that she accepted the task. I was nervous to try out for cheerleading in 2015 because I knew that Ms. Truitt was somewhat of a tough teacher with a backgroung in criminal justice. Classmates that had cheered that year before encouraged me to try out anyway saying that it was not as bad as I thought. When I made the team I was ecstatic but still nervous to be around Ms. Truitt. It did not take long for me to find out just how wrong my first impression of her was. Within weeks of making the team, she had become a mother figure in my
I want to thank you for meeting with me regarding the cross over of the lacrosse club to a team sport in the 2018 season. I have great respect for you and the roles that you have at Millikan. I've witnessed your efforts and have been impressed with what you've done at Millikan. Kevin has engaged the community in a way which has brought Millikan sports more respect and awareness. Dan has coached and guided staff in a common sense way of dealing with parents as well as maintaining a pragmatic approach to larger ideas. In this I am sincere.
Hey Coach, Iowa State is going great. The classes are alright, but I enjoy going to most of them. I am taking advantage of the facilities and I am back in the weight room. All the techniques and lifts you taught me are really making it easier now that I am lifting without a coach. I thank you for all the time and effort you put into the lifting program so I know what I am doing here at Iowa State. The main reason that I am writing you is to share this with the seniors at North Scott High School. Particularly, the seniors who are struggling to pick the place they will be spending the next four years of their lives. It is the beginning of the school year and the seniors who already have a plan are ready to go but the seniors who don't are scared for the future. I encourage the
I will inspire athletes to demonstrate good character. Sports do not have an influence on one’s character; however, coaches can strongly impact athletes’ character, both negatively and positively. For this reason, I will work to coach in ways that support the growth of athletes’ character and create learning opportunities and situations in which athletes can practice and learn from. As a coach, I will lead by example and demonstrate good character because actions speak louder than words. I will do this by embodying sportsmanship and respecting athletes, opponents, other coaches, and referees. I will also show this to athletes by respecting, caring, and being trustworthy. I will also lead by example by staying
In conclusion, my interview with Coach Dix was great. Dix is a fiery, and competitive coach I think I would like to model once I merge into the coaching field. Dix gave me a lot of insight on what it takes to be successful when running a sports program. I believe I became a better coach from just asking and listening to him. It was a great overall experience, and I’m glad I was able to interview a coach of his
Ever sense I was a young girl I’ve been really into physical activities. At the age of five I started skating and instantly fell in-love. At the age of six my dad enrolled me into hockey, and from that point on my life has never been the same. I’ve had numerous opportunities in sports such as: winning gold and silver for U18 Team Canada hockey, and getting a scholarship to Wisconsin University to play on the women’s hockey team. Although these moments are surreal, it is not only the moments that I remember but the mentors and teachers that I have been fortunate to meet along the way. These coaches have not only taught me the game but have also taught me life values such as: teamwork, leadership, discipline, time management and much more. Without hockey, and sports in general I don’t know where I would be today, but I do know one thing and that is without sports I wouldn’t have met all the amazing people that helped guided me towards wanting to become a physical education teacher. Sports have always been a huge part of my life, and I am blessed to have sports guide me through life. Thus, I want to become a teacher to help kids have the same opportunities that I had growing up.
coaches or not was a huge debate in sports. This essay is directed to inform the reader about the
As an athlete, I acknowledge the guidance and energy thrived off a special coaches. To recognize that their main priority is to guide us with positive vibes and to play the role as another effective role model in our lives. They’re are more than the ones who corrects your mistakes, pushes you regardless of your indecisive to do anything,
How many youth and high school coaches serve as a father figure to their players? How many mothers look to the coaches of their son’s football team as the last best hope to show their son what it means to become a man – a real man? More than we’ll ever know. Coaches teach us boys the lessons of life that very often they learn from no one else. Coaches have the kind of influence in our schools,
I honestly love my dad being a coach. I am always on a team no matter what. I also get to find out roster’s before any other kids. And I get to pick the team name for mt non-travel team.
As a child I grew up playing football, and I’ve always had a passion for the game. After playing my final down, I knew that my days with the sport were not over. Football is a sport that molds boys into men. My dream is to become a football coach. My coaches had a very strong impact on my life and helped me evolve into the person I am today. By becoming a football coach I will have the ability to make an impact on my player’s life like my coaches did with mine. My biggest inspiration in becoming a football coach is Lou Holtz. Coach Holtz showed me that just because I am finished playing doesn’t mean that I can’t have a passion for the game. The way he carried himself and the passion he emitted helped me decide that this was something I
